  2. I have a fair number of last season tires that I am moving out at cost or less to make room for 2018 inventory. There is everything from Truck tires to Performance Tires. Before I put them on Kijiji I figured I would give OFC members a look and see if anything floats your boat. I will install and balance any set for $50.00 including full manufacturers warranty and additional 5 year tire protection plan that gives free flat tire repair at over 70 stores in Ontario and pro-rated road hazard warranty. The Tire Protection Plan is $40.00 alone. If you want a sneak preview send me size by PM.. I will post a list in classifieds tomorrow.......thanks Art for OK'ing this...
  3. I would probably go 20 years older and half the horsepower but waaay more fun to drive...1970's 2002ti
  4. Welcome back my friend. It has not been quite the same around here without you.
  5. Glad to see you out and about Cliff. Give me a call PM or text if you want a day out maybe lakers or whities?
  6. Yeah I knew this was coming in 2018 about a year ago. I think that depending on how close the price is to the HD truck it may be attractive to those pulling trailers up to say 8 or 9,000# (either work or recreational). Be interesting to have a drive.
  7. Yep stupid undisciplined penalties!
  8. Most who know me well are aware of my political views so I won't elaborate here. I am not a hunter, nor do I understand the excitement of the hunt. Having said that, I have many friends (Canadian, American and those across the pond), who are and I respect their rights and desires. Most hunt deer. moose, fowl or other game where the meat is consumed. This, in my humble opinion, honours and respects the life of the animal. I have had some quite heated but civilized "discussion" with those that hunt for the rush of the kill and of course the trophy that (sometimes) is displayed for all to see. We live in a country where hunting is and has been a way of life for generations as a means of survival. I guess I question our detour from hunter gatherer to those that kill for the rush. These are strictly my comments and opinion and not in any way intended to invoke argument or criticize.
  9. Hi Doug. Go down the the bottom of the page and select theme and change to default. Should give you a white background.
  10. Sorry guys, I don't get on here much anymore but had to put my 2 cents worth on this one. In my humble opinion this thread has nowhere to go but down the proverbial toilet. Just sayin.....
  11. Hard braking every now and again will help. I see a lot of vehicles where pads and rotors were replaced say 10K ago at another shop and come in with calipers seized. A lot of shops will just slap a set of pads and rotors on and not do a caliper service. In some cases these brakes will fail prematurely. Make sure that the shop that you use services and lubes calipers as part of a brake job. In my humble opinion it is worth having a brake service (inspection and service, not necessarily replacement) done once a year as part of an oil change service and general inspection, in many cases your brakes will almost double their life depending on how and where you drive.
  12. Would love to be there Cliff but Saturdays at this time of year are crazy for me.
  13. The other "green" issue that I have Art is that E vehicles use more energy and fossil fuels to produce than a regular internal combustion propelled vehicle. I addition I don't think we have even scratched the surface of the problems with battery disposal and recycling moving forward. I have said for some time that passenger vehicles are much much less of an emission issue than the millions of commercial vehicles, trains, aircraft, container ships and cruise ships that don't have any emissions standards or controls....
  14. Congrat's Peter! I was wondering where you had gone. I love it out there and only wish I could make the move too. Wishing you all the best and happy times ahead. Are you planning on getting involved with coast guard?
  15. Maybe a little more information would help. Budget, new or pre-owned, full console and top, power etc? Sometimes this topic is a little like the Ford, Chevy, Dodge debate. You will get lots of opinions. Go out and look at many, reduce it down to a few based on your personal criteria and then do a little more research/ask questions to narrow it down to one or two. Good luck, John
  16. If you just need the rims and not the tires they will be fine, assuming you are confident that the bolt pattern is correct. If they are good tires keep them or resell them. the only difference is the height. The second number 55 or 65 is the aspect ratio meaning that the height is either 65% or 55% of the tire width...PM me if you have any other questions..
  17. Still a popular up sell here Art. $5.00 a tire. Many unscrupulous shops are putting fear into their customers that they can not put air in their tires after they are inflated with nitrogen! I explain to as many as 5-10 customers a week that good old generic air with its 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen is just fine.........but some still like the pretty green dust caps that they put on their valves..
  18. I shared the information with Kelvin.
  19. Well thanks Art but Bernie has perhaps 10 times the knowledge and experience that I do. I am just a little troubled when mis-information and innuendo is thrown around here just to stimulate so called passionate discussion. If we look at the threads that get locked there is one thing in common, "passionate discussion" by the same members. Is life really that boring? I stand by what I said and if anyone has a legitimate question about servicing your vehicle I would be happy to answer it by PM.
  20. Didn't want to get into this thread but lot's of heresay and mis-information thrown around. I don't want to get into a debate on the state of the auto service industry but if anyone wants to ask a real question or in need an honest answer PM me. If I don't have answer I will find it for you..
