  1. Absolutely 4 contact patches about the size of your hand...
  2. What store were you at?
  3. Hi Lew. Greetings from PEI. Defender LTX is a good tire. My price all in installed, balanced, taxes included, including road hazard, no charge seasonal changeover and 24/7/365 North America wide tire roadside assistance is $1120.00. So your Kal Tire price is OK. Forget Costco, they are a pain in the rear to deal with and Defender to Defender their tires are not exactly the same. On some models they buy a specific tread design exclusive to them. I am not a fan. John
  4. Nice one guys. Gotta be the cool shades!
  5. That's great Cliff. When you posted I assumed you were out of warranty. ........the receiver/dryer or filter/dryer is always replaced. It is essentially a can with an inlet and outlet filled with dessicant to dry the air. I did a Nissan last week and parts and labour, (compressor/condenser.dryer) was over $1500.00........
  6. Thanks again guys. Looks like I have a few great candidates that we are in the middle of interviewing.
  7. Thanks guys I appreciate the comments and of course you are helping me keep it near the top.... We have two excellent 310-S Techs one of whom actually taught the course but had a yen to get back on the tools. This position offer the right guy or gal a truly great opportunity to learn a trade. 9. I'm assuming just powertrain Lew AC would not be covered
  10. Hi Cliff Is it the volume of air that is the problem or the fact that the air is not cold? Different problems with different solutions. We fix dozens or AC's this time of year and if the compressor and clutch is working then in 90% + of the cases it is refrigerant leak. We put about a pound of refrigerant in the system with some flourescent dye. After a few days we can see where the leak is with a black light (sometimes the leak is very small). Of course if you have a volume of air issue then is could either be cabin filter plugged (you would be amazed as to how much crap gets trapped in there). If the volume is very low then it could be a mechanical heat/AC/blendor issue....sorry but if you were closer I would gladly have my guys do the diagnosis for you.... J..
  11. You smokin' again bye!
  12. Here ya go.... http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xspare+spool+stradic+FJ.TRS0&_nkw=spare+spool+stradic+FJ&_sacat=0
  13. Dave, headed to PEI end of August for a couple of weeks. Hope to get my hands on a few 2-3 pounders. That's a beauty Kudos to them for releasing her...
  14. Absolutely right Art..
  15. I'm sorry too JoePa it's 100% your attitude. Mass killings happen for many reasons least of all due to police action. Citizens of any country need to respect one another, regardless of their profession or status in life. Attitude is everything regardless of the offence or perceived offence. The situation is going to change quickly once the officer has suspicion that you are hiding or attempting to hide something. Unfortunately if and when you give police reason to suspect you have committed an offence, YOUR attitude will determine the outcome!
  16. Like most of this nature, this thread has nowhere to go but down the proverbial toilet. Like most of us I have very strong opinions that differ greatly from some of my friends both Canadian and American. Although it is a very sad state of affairs, this is really not the forum for those opinions. Just sayin'.........
  17. You will aways get the best possible exchange rate by using either debit or credit cards to purchase the majority of items. Bank cash exchange rates are marked up 2-3% minimum. Carry maybe $100 in Canadian currency just in case. Don't use currency exchanges or you will get royally ripped.
  18. Yep the size and res of those photo's slowed my laptop down to a crawl. Well worth it though!
  19. Yep great week with awesome friends. 3 pike between Barbara and myself but lots of laughs, fun and great food. The Wednesday night live music was fantastic. Barnie is the best fed camp dog there is, he actually loses weight in the Winter! Just want to thank all of the willing hands that came together during the storm. It's hard to believe that my boat could actually pull wood out of a relatively newly built dock especially when I use bungy cords to tie up! Thanks to our hosts Regan, Goldie, Russell, Barnie and Stewie they run a first class lodge. Thanks also to Sheri for baking us our anniversary cake.....not too many guys can brag that they spent their 42nd anniversary fishing the West Arm of lake Nipissing! 42 years and counting Barbara....
  20. Great report! Cherish the time you have with your Dad....time flies by in this life!
  21. I like it.....but you forgot maybe 4 demerit points...
  22. As I said previously Joe, ya can't fix stupid! Some just don't get it, unfortunately, until the inevitable happens.
  23. Some merit to this, but, that will only increase the value of the millions of smart phones out there as it will be impossible to retrofit every phone in everyones hand...there will very quickly become a black market for older and cracked phones. Of course Apple a fiercely protective US company and Samsung of Korea will not cater to the Canadian market or agree to limit the freedom of their customer. There is not a simple answer to the problem. Again, it's not a perfect solution but heavy fines and demerits would cause SOME of the idiots to think twice or start walking.....
  24. LOL...I was using that as an example in response to your request for "police training" on handheld devices.... Unfortunately, like you, some don't get it until they injure or kill someone due to selfish stupidity.......it's not the law that is stupid, take a long look in the mirror, hopefully not while you are driving!
  25. Police are also trained to use lethal force if and when necessary......think about it! Using a hand held device while driving has been proven to increase your likelihood of an accident. Some of us ( I guess you) just don't get it! Thankfully you are not driving in my town.............
