  1. Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) is now a completely separate company from Bombardier who make planes and trains. I believe that BRP is owned by the Bombardier Family, the Quebec gov't, and Bain Capital. So they are still mostly Canadian. Bain Capital is American; but they only own about 20%. Sorry, missed this from Roy's link. This changes the ownership structure. 2013BRP Files a Preliminary Prospectus for its Initial Public OfferingBRP files a preliminary prospectus with the securities regulatory authorities in each of the provinces and territories of Canada in connection with a proposed initial public offering of its subordinate voting shares. 2013BRP Completes Final Public OfferingIn May, BRP announces the closing of its initial public offering of 12,200,000 subordinate voting shares of the Company at a price of $21.50 per share, resulting in gross proceeds to the Company of approximately $262,300,000.
  2. Think about where you are going to mount down riggers, rod holders, etc. Some models may be better for than others for that.
  3. I would suggest that you get yourself one of the plastic boards that you mount on the transom and screw the transducer to them. They cost about $20 save the hull on your boat, which probably cost a little more than that. I would mount the board on the blue flake part and use a bracket to drop the transducer down a bit. You may need to experiment a little if you want it to be able to function with the boat on plane.
  4. Yamaha makes a good motor but I am pretty sure that Merc outsells them in North America. Merc is owned by Brunswick that also owns a good chunk of the boat manufactures so I don't see that changing any time soon.
  5. I too got stuck with Windows 8 because I bought a new laptop this summer. I think it is worse than Vista! I hear that Lenovo is still selling laptops with Windows 7. I suspect that other manufacturers will follow. There was a similar pattern with the VistaCrap OS. Virtually all businesses are still running Windows 7 (some are even running XP), so it is definitely available.
  6. I think you could buy a decent sled for the price of the tracks... I think that would be the better option.
  7. I am not sure I would want to sit through the videos of him "greeting" the other dogs in the neighborhood.
  8. I think the Pelican 45 is more of a hand pull sled. I have a couple. I like the small size because I can put two in the back of my GMC Jimmy without having to fold the seats down. It works well for me; I have not tried using it behind a vehicle.
  9. That is what my parent's phone does. They are on Rogers. I think a Bell phone will still work if it is not cordless.
  10. Here are a few from my neighbourhood. http://s1204.photobucket.com/user/tennis_pwn/media/Ice%20Storm/P1010380.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2
  11. I visited the Potomac River this summer. It didn't strike me as a great place to brink a boat. Maybe there are some slower sections down stream?
  12. Doesn't he have a masters degree? That would make him well educated. He may not be a genius; but I think he does have some good business sense; he is certainly not stupid.
  13. I got out on Sunday too. A good 5" of clear ice where I was fishing. I was one for two with the pike. I hope to be back out this weekend. http://s1204.photobucket.com/user/tennis_pwn/media/P1010370.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0
  14. You are not right about the team you cheer for
  15. I think it was the Leafs that sold out Sundin... he wanted to finish his career here.
  16. They will catch fish. But they are no miracle lure; they are not going to catch any more fish than a typical soft bait. If you can get it for a decent price then it will be worth it.
  17. If it is Canadian Coast Guard approved, then it should count. I understand that not all of them are coast guard approved.
  18. Not according to Snopes http://www.snopes.com/language/stories/brass.asp
  19. Population density would play a role. The U.S.A. has 10 times the population in a smaller area. I am sure that Canada Post makes a nice profit when someone delivers from one down town Toronto address to another down town Toronto address, maybe even Toronto to Vancouver; but then they have to deliver from Labrador to Nunavut or to the Yukon for the same price. I am all ready using a community box in Scarborough; I find that it works quite well. I also like the Shoppers post office because they are open 7 days a week and late at night.
  20. Isn't a welding torch dry heat too?
  21. Why didn't the skeleton cross the road? . . . . . . . . . . . . because he didn't have the guts to.
  22. I would have slowly driven my vehicle up to the elk. Although it is possible that this would cause the attack; I think it would be more likely to prevent an attack then cause one. I think that is better than just standing there filming it.
  23. Didn't seem like too many people were interested in helping him during a potential life threatening situation.
  24. You mean your not one now? You seem to follow the team pretty closely
