  1. Thanks, are there any places that are good to launch a small craft? I may bring a 10' inflatable with a 2.5hp. Or, is shore fishing the best option?
  2. Is anyone here familiar with Port Robinson? Is there any decent fishing or place to launch a small boat or canoe? I have tentavly planned a business trip there this summer. I hope to get a bit of fishing in.
  3. I just got re-directed to download Opera. It seems okay now though.
  4. I am also looking to replace Norton. Any suggestions on the best alternative available today?
  5. Yes, most of the "winterizing" steps don't really have much to do with temperature. Fogging prevents corrosion during long periods without use, lower end oil needs to be changed on occasion, etc.; this is true regardless of temperature.
  6. Thanks guys, I cleaned out the dryer and replaced the fuse. It worked fine last night. Hopefully it will continue to work for a while.
  7. Thanks, hopefully this will resolve the issue.
  8. Does anyone know if this is a fuse? Or perhaps a thermocouple? My gas dryer doesn't heat up. This item has resistance, so if it is a fuse it's blown.
  9. I am not sure how it would work as well for Chinook and other "once in a life spawners". I guess if they lived several extra years by not spawning they would get huge. But if they died when they achieved their normal spawning age, it may not make much difference. For multi-spawn fish, they get large because they don't experience the weight loss associated with spawning but continue living past the age that they would normally begin to spawn.
  10. Boat Tech in Pickering services the motors. But at 17 years, I would probably replace it.
  11. Weed may be an issue. Otherwise, it should be fine.
  12. There is a park association that is very anti-fishing. They give TUFA (Toronto Urban Fishing Ambassadors) are lot of trouble when they have fishing events in High Park.
  13. Do you have a copy of your deed? It may come with some special rights. I recall seeing a real estate ad for a property on Grenadier pond. Appearently it had shoreline rights that allowed them to launch a boat. Maybe that applies to your property too. Then you can really piss the park people off. I found the ad https://dailyhive.com/toronto/toronto-home-sale-comes-with-boat-grenadier-pond
  14. Pair of 4" Lyman wood fishing lures. $30 each or $50 for the pair.
  15. Yamaha has a hydrogen outboard prototype https://newatlas.com/marine/yamahas-hydrogen-outboard-boat-prototype/
  16. I theory, the pressure on the ice will be equal to the tire pressure. Rigidy of the tire itself along with snow cover on the ice will through the calculation off somewhat.
  17. Of all the things to worry about on a trip to Northern Ontario, I never thought that a one armed baboon would be one of them. https://globalnews.ca/news/10167511/woman-attacked-escaped-baboon-ontario/

  18. Did they have kill switches in the late 70s? And if they did would it affect the starter motor?
  19. Real estate is a little too pricey for factories in downtown Toronto.
  20. Thanks, I think I can rule out the fuel line in this case. My kicker can run on either an internal or an external tank. I have issue regardless of which I choose. I haven't had a chance to clean the carb yet. I did add Seafoam, but I think that's more of a long term solution than a quick fix.
  21. Floating Time Hortons drive through on Scugog this weekend. https://cottagelife.com/general/tim-hortons-opening-a-boat-thru-this-weekend-on-lake-scugog-ont/?mibextid=Zxz2cZ&fbclid=IwAR1_aOFzPXtgcns8bsijxBhn6PtJpb32Tlzef6AV6Ksqbw9IVmc3W-i_jqE
  22. My kicker motor (5hp Mercury branded Tohatsu four stroke) starts but stalls shortly after. Usually, it will not continue running after I push the choke button back in. Once I was able to get it to run for several minutes. I had twisted the tiller grip to wide open trottle and pushed the choke almost all the way in. I am not sure what that does in terms of throttle plate position. It ran for several minutes with the RPMs continually increasing and decreasing. If I prime the bulb, I see fuel dripping out of a drain line. I assume that this is from an overflow port in the carburator. I tried replacing the spark plug. I had had similar issues in the past and was told that that was the solution. Does anyone have any other ideas on the cause? Fuel filter? Thanks in advance.

  24. I think that's the proper pronunciation. Listen to their commercials.
