  1. Cheaper than most of your lures. http://www.banggood.com/Portable-Pocket-Pen-Shape-Aluminum-Alloy-Fishing-Rod-Pole-Reel-Combos-p-76315.html?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=facebook_cpc&utm_campaign=Flshing_pole_desktop_new&utm_content=vivian&utm_design=03
  2. I once caught a bull head on a Jitterbug... that is a strange bait for the species, although I was targeting large mouth. I used to dive for lures a lot. Once I found what looked like a couple of pieces of an old shoe glued to a fish hook to fashion some sore of home made spoon like bait. Somebody was fishing with a strange bait.
  3. Yes, you can catch gar, and many other species, with panty hose. However, it is not the most comfortable thing to be wearing in mid July.
  4. Here is the link http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/dailybrew/could-ontario-cottage-country-home-armoured-tank-test-183544938.html
  5. This would have been a cool purchase for any motorcycle enthusiasts. Not someone you think of cruising around on a Harley. http://news.msn.com/world/holy-high-hog-popes-harley-sells-for-dollar327000
  6. I am not sure where you are located; but the marina on Baptiste Lake is, or at least was, a Lowe dealer. They are not a big dealer, but they do carry Lowe.
  7. Any weight inside the car, including driver and passengers, counts towards the 1,500 pounds as well. Two people in the car and their gear leaves less than 1,000 pounds for towing. I would consider car topper; perhaps a canoe with an outrigger.
  8. Agreed, thank goodness that Mississauga is not part of Toronto
  9. I don't ever recall having a show in Scarborough. There were a few shows in Pickering though; that is probably what you were thinking of. The old Pickering Flea market location hosting some fishing shows in past years. That location is now a shopping centre. I don't think the new flea market location has ever been used for a show. I think the person who is organizing the current Spring Fishing show may have been one of the ones who organized some of the Pickering shows.
  10. Which support centres? The federal government does not administer welfare.
  11. I don't really have a specific model to recommend; but I would recommend a water proof one. Even if you never use if for underwater pictures, just not having to worry about it getting it wet is great. An iPhone could turn out to be an expensive option for fishing pictures.
  12. The Direct Energy building is city property. A few years ago Miller banned guns from Toronto owned properties. The Sportsman Show moved to the Convention Centre (which is owned by the province). With Miller out of the picture, the Sportsman Show was able to move back to the Exhibition. I have heard that there traditional March time slot has already been taken by another show. Thus, the Sportsman Show had to find a new time slot. The time slot that they chose happens to occur the week before the Spring Fishing Show. The time slot they chose may have been partly or entirely an attempt to take the business away from the other show.
  13. I can understand your logic if it is still a new camera. But if the battery is dead the camera is probably several years old and not worth much. My first digital camera cost me about $800; but I probably couldn't get much more than $20 for it now. Technology changes fast.
  14. Ceci: "I just kind of showed my back a bit hoping he'd slow up and ended up face first in the boards and then they scored right on the play" By his own admission he saw the hit coming, so he was not unprepared. He also admitted to deliberately turning his back to Kadri; so if he was vulnerable it was due to his own decision to turn his back to a player about to check him.
  15. Haven't you always had to have it with you? As a matter of fact; at one time the fine for not having your license with you was higher than the fine for not having a license at all.

  17. The so called "every day transactions" are a bigger concern than on-line purchases. It is usually the restaurant and gas purchases that lead to fraudulent charges. On-line purchases are less of a concern.
  18. First time I have ever seen them award a goal without the puck going in the net. I guess the logic is that he is entitled to a penalty shot on an empty net... which would just be a formality.
  19. I am with DundasStealheader on this. The wording indicates that those over 65 need to carry ID to prove it; but it is not clear that those under 18 to carry ID.
  20. That would be AV Fishing Tackle at Sheppard and Shorting. That is where I usually buy my minnows. I think that Lucky's at Sheppard and Midland sells bait too.
  21. Good one. Reminds me of a response that I read about for the ones who claim to be from Microsoft or from the "Computer Technical Department" claiming that my computer is sending out a virus. I usually just hang up on them. I read about one guy who tells them that he set is computer up that way on purpose. Unfortunately I haven't received a call lately so I haven't been able to use that line yet.
  22. I fish it quite often. There are decent numbers of pike and perch. I have also heard of browns, bows, and walleye being caught. I had some success with pike in early December, but I have not had good luck lately.
  23. Wouldn't it be more like 1.8 times based on the area being Pie * radius squared? This would give a ratio of 16:9 Granted, that is still quite a bit more ice for a slightly larger hole.
  24. From what I understand, the government is currently paying people with contracts not to general electricity because it is not required with the currently supply and demand. How does this impact a home owner's ability to sign a contract for a new installation? Do home owners run the risk of paying for a new installation only to have Hydro tell them they are not interested in buying their power? Alternatively, is Hydro beginning to add 'opt-out' clauses that will allow them to stop buying power when the demand is low? Either way, the home owner gets burned.
