  2. Thanks Joey for all your hard work, and the captains too. It was a fun tourney, as always. That's a heck of year team 5 had
  3. nice collection of esox there :clapping:Love the action shots of the fish jumping
  4. some enviable fish as always Pete, congrats. The salmon thing can be quite addictive, and I suspect your quest for the 50 inch Muskie will soon share time with the quest for a Tyee. Look forward to your 2014 posts.

  7. My Father in law saved pretty well everything. Included in the many things we found was a mineral deposits map dated 1968 by Algoma Steel Ore division, and a print of a hand drawn survey of a portion of Wawa. The title of the survey is "Sketch showing claims staked Aug 18, 19 and 20. 1937." Signed and dated by the surveyor: Name MacQuarrie., Aug 22 /37 If anyone is interested, pm me
  8. Welcome to the zoo. There's quite a few of us from the Brant area, If you're into river fishing the Grand can keep ya busy all through the soft water season, and there's no shortage of other options within an hour any direction you want to look - streams rivers and lakes. Look forward to some posts as you discover the area.
  9. Great stuff Wayne.! So glad to hear this. From all of us
  10. Now that's a Christmas present! Good news indeed
  11. Ron: Try Faul Farms on the Ayr road, just past Bannister / Wrigley lakes. If they don't they will know who does They are members of local group of farmers who raise the products naturally. They have a map of the various farms who do so locally. There is also a guy on Highway 2 between Falkland & Princeton who has free range products- but I think that is chicken / eggs and lamb only? You'd have to do a drive by to confirm. They are on the south side of the road. Barry Farms (the asparagus place) is also a member of this group and sells various natural products, and has some amazing products in his outlet. Cram - BTW Faul Farms raise, butcher and sell grass fed beef. I believe you can order pretty well any size order you want. They have a retail store that you can pick and choose, or buy one of the value packs.
  12. Well, I seem to remember a time long ago when the issue was not about the individual, but the position. When we confuse the role with the person, is it any surprise this is the outcome? Step aside and let the system determine your guilt or innocence. If the finding is guilt then the outcome is clear. Likewise if the outcome is innocence, the outcome is clear. Either way the hounds are satisfied, and justice is provided. I guess dignity and respect went out while I was busy discussing the merits of integrity?
  13. Another icon passes; RIP Lou Reed.

  14. beauty scenery, Got a real nice spot to spend some time chasin' all kinds of speicies there.
  15. its a step in the right direction
  16. nice report: beauty fish, great scenery .
  17. congrats - beauty fish
  18. a few mixed reports on 'pullers, but most guys have packed it in.
  19. Dave - I have the handheld remote on my 16fter and its not as useful as I had hoped. Its great if your drifting, and pretty good if your jigging, but not very useful when casting. The thing is, you have to take one hand off the reel or the rod to do anything and that always seems to happen in mid retrieve; I find the foot pedal set to continuous, then controlling speed and direction much more user friendly. But doing it standing up on your bow could be difficult, especially in any kind of wave action / when its wet. I would love auto pilot or the I-pilot, but I just cant justify it for the one to two weeks I spend on smaller water.
  20. Looks like a great day on the water Richard . I did kind of notice though, that this picture has a certain "glow" to it?
  21. Great report - and congrats on the PB. Awesome photos, as always.

  23. It isn't Canadian - but it is one of , if not the, best. I am a bit of kitchen knife nut - it has to cut paper thin the first time, every time when I am cooking. http://www.amazon.com/Henckels-31030-183-Twin-Fillet-Knife/dp/B000T8EZE0 I have 2, 1 is over 15 years old and for the boat, the other is 5 years old and for the kitchen. Combined with a Henkel steel, these things will slice, dice a fillet to paper thin slices - literally. A quick 5 stokes on each side before use and it is as sharp as a razor.
