  1. I live in southern Ontario, but love the north country. That is way north of Sudbury. I fish a lot in the Gogama area. This cancellation is definitely going to hurt the local tourist outfitters.
  2. wow! what an adventure! I'm sure you'll never forget this event. Bonus you got some nice walleye.
  3. Nice pix, Thanx. The smaller lakers are definitely the tastier ones.
  4. Nice looking crappies! Thanx for posting pix.
  5. Spooled I painted an older boat using a small 4" foam roller. Finished product looked darn good.
  6. Beauty pix! Thanx. Can't wait for soft water here in Ontario.
  7. I installed hand warmers on my 2012 Polaris 500 this past winter. They work great. All the wiring from the warmers are installed to an existing harness inside the headlight pod. No wires go to the battery.
  8. I checked out Por 15 site. Looks like a good product. Has anyone here used their paint? If so, please comment. Thanx
  9. Brought tears to my eyes! "Dad I'll always go fishing with you"!! Great report- thanx for sharing! Wonderful pix
  10. What's jeep got to do with cats?? Dun ville is with 2ns as in Dunnville. LOL!
  11. Labs are a wonderful dog. I had 2 in my household when I was a youngster. I also had a golden retriever, smartest dog I ever knew. Smarter than me! - wouldn't take much?? Good luck with your new pup.
  12. I have 2 Interstates in my boat. Proper charging procedures are also important. Go to batterystuff.com they explain the charging technology & different types of batteries very well. Sulphation is the culprit why most batteries fail prematurely.
  13. I tried tremclad, didn't last 6 months, armour coat same thing. So I figured I'd try Plasti dip from Home Hardware. It didn't last 4 months, even after I removed 98% of the old paint & rust with a knotted wire brush on my grinder. (lottsa elbow grease). Plasti dip is $20.00 per spray can, figured it was the cure - nope! Home Hardware did refund the 100 bux (5 spray cans, numerous coats I spent on paint. Now I have to wire brush it again. I'm going to search out a coating at Dura Coat in Hamilton. I've been told they have a good product - but expensive.
  14. wow! That's awesome! I wish my fox terrier was somewhat smart. He's untrainable!
  15. Peter's tackle in St. Catharines has a very good selection of harness components. Michaels craft store for your beads. In the past I have purchased beads & Colorado blades at J R Outdoors in Welland. Last time I was in his shop he was closing shop & retiring. Johnny is 76 years old & ready for a rest. I'm gonna miss him.
  16. No such thing as bad beer - Only better beer!
  17. I love your report & the pix are awesome! The little one laying flat on the ice staring down the hole - priceless!!
  18. I feel sorry for you. It's a tough thing to do. I've had to put down 4 pets over the years but I didn't want to see them suffer. You'll have lots of fond memories of your dog.
  19. Hey you bashing Pinto? I owned a brand new 1973! Sorry had to throw that in.
  20. I recently purchased an '08 King Ranch with 71,000 km on it. I love this truck! It has the folding aluminum tonneau cover which is great for transporting all your goodies. The box is 6'6" so while vacationing I can tow my boat & run the ATV into the box. ATV fits with the tailgate up & latched. My boat is a 14' Lund so towing is really not an issue. I would not hesitate to tow an 18 or 19' aluminum boat with this truck.
  21. I'm in Niagara. I was thinking of removing the winter tires - nope not yet! I haven't seen a robin yet. I'll be on Erie today fishing on 32"of ice chasing jumbo perch!! Woo Hoo!
  22. Thanx for sharing your adventures. Some awesome fish in your report. Thanx
  23. I have a 2012 Polaris 500 used primarily for ice fishing. Price was $6500.00 including a 3,000 lb winch, add tax 7500.00 out the door. At the time of purchase I could not justify $10,000 plus tax for a 650 Can Am. As stated by the above posts, I guess it's all in how much heavy duty work you are going to inflict on your machine. I'm an older gentle rider so I didn't see the need to spend the extra $$$. So far my bike has zero issues. With the extra money saved on the Polaris I was able to purchase important stuff like new rods, reels, an ice flasher & beer!
  24. There's a Lowe dealer in Dunnvile Riverside marine. They did some work on a Mariner motor for me when a rock jumped up & bit it! I was pleased with their service. One of my fishing buddies boat a brand new 16' Lowe with all the bells & whistles. He also has been pleased with their service.
