There are a couple of lakes I fish in that area and there are no sunfish/crappie, however, there are some perch.
Must have some small and skinny muskie in that lake without a good population of panfish.
I also enjoy the gills over the crappie. I actually have any easier time cleaning gills and they cook up better. I find the crappie meat a little soft.
It's also important to remember that there is a specific limit in zone 17 for bluegill over 7.1". I think an angler is permitted 30 out of their overall limit.
If I worked there I wouldn't want to have to deal with all those unhappy campers that came from the city thinking that the lakes were open and ready to go. I'm sure there will still be some showing up without the knowledge anyways. Making an announcement covers their behinds.
Dealers scare me. I feel like I have dollar signs tattooed on my head when I walk into any one of them. I understand the costs and overhead, but there are just too many horror stories floating around. Those that find someone they trust are lucky.
Not sure when they open, but there is Balsam Lake Provincial Park or Centennial Park on Canal Lake. Balsam is just a larger lake, but they also have bigger pike.
The water is over my dock on lower Pigeon. I have the wooden top strapped down so she won't float away. That's three years in a row now that the level seems uncontrolled, never saw this the previous 27 years I lived in this spot.
Bautista was not safe, it was the guy on first being called out because of the interference by Bautista. Sucky rule. They're taking the excitement out of the game.
Yes, I understand the lottery, just hoping the Leafs get the best odds. We all know how that went for Buffalo last year though. Now it's a lottery for the top three picks.
Edmonton and Toronto have the same number of points, but Edmonton has more wins, doesn't that give the first overall to Toronto if they both lose out the season?
Bought a Handlebarz spinner bait. He seemed to have some good prices.
Wish there were more deals throughout. I was actually surprised at some of the prices on tackle. I can buy some of the product locally for a much better price than those being offered at the show.
Nice to have a show close to home though.
I did like the info on the Roughguard application for trucks. Will be looking into that.
What weekend were you planning to do this? I'll make sure I'm off the water! LOL
Definitely don't ruin the weekend by getting nabbed by the police, they do patrol the area quite well at times. I don't think that you will be bothered if you are anchored for the night in a bay or around the island.
That's the way I like to see the Leafs play out the season.
At first I thought adding Stamkos would be a great move by the Leafs. I still think he would be a great addition, but not at the money that is being thrown around. It will tie their hands when those young guys play out their rookie contracts.
Just heard about it on the radio this morning. Last minute Lindsay! They have tried various types of fishing or sportsman shows over the years and none have continued. Hopefully this one is different. I should find time to stop into the show.
The Leafs need to send some of those high flying rookies down and bring back the old legs for the rest of the year. Casts and all if that's what it takes.
