  1. I had a neighbour from Timmins and he swore by Horwood for walleye. He went a couple times a year and always caught fish. You should still check out Mike's Outfitter which is located this side of Rouyn Noranda.
  2. Bring a good supply of dew worms and drag the bottom with jigs and a piece of worm.
  3. Check out Mike's Outfitter the next time you book. They are just over the border from Larder Lake. I go there with a group from North Bay.
  4. With the amount of time I have been bitten off along with others, there would be a ton of floating muskie if it were a serious issue. It's never nice, but they seem to survive. Hooking in the gills is a different story, but not much you can do about that. Years ago we used to pinch all of our barbs down, that was also beneficial if you happened to get a hook in your hand.
  5. Tough to watch, but I'm still hoping.
  6. Wowser!
  7. You can't admit to burning over 2 bush cords from my experience. Commonwell Mutual Insurance will insure you (they used to be Farmers). You have to contact one of their brokers.
  8. If the bluegills are biting, all the crappie go back. 10" if I'm keeping some.
  9. I was going to say that was a weird place for a piercing. Looks like a great trip! Thanks for sharing.
  10. Canadian Tire carries JB Weld as do most hardware stores.
  11. I think that it's dangerous, that's probably why they don't manufacture 12' tin boats with casting platforms. Just my opinion though.
  12. Don't you just love fishing in socks! Nice fish.
  13. What time are you loading today? I might be able to skip out of work for a short time. I could probably load something into my truck and drop it at the Restore. I have to head home today around 3:00 though. Let me know.
  14. My wife and I have Justified on DVD and have been enjoying it. Set in the southern USA hollows (hollers).
  15. I believe there is a short window for the best results.
  16. Pike are amazing eating and like others have said, I will take them over walleye at the right time of the year. I just love the photos of tigers. I have yet to catch one, but look forward to it when it happens.
  17. Walleye were never open during the winter on Pigeon Lake. I kind of hope it's the slot sizes that were initiated, but they are a cyclic fish when it comes to spawning success, so my thought is they had a good year and that class is showing up now just under the slot.
  18. I would make sure to bring a good supply of dew worms, especially for the non anglers. What Tom said. Lures that work well are rapala taildancers and 5 of diamond spoons.
  19. Living the dream at its best!
  20. I need a new spine with all the shock absorbers. I think that you should limit it to people you know Cliff and get a deposit, nothing worse than getting stuck with a part you have no use for.
  21. You must have rolled the whole bag into one joint there Old Ironmaker. I understand the stuff now is way more potent than the 70's.
  22. http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/cormorant-debate-which-part-of-the-ecosystem-to-protect-1.859181 This might explain some things.
  23. So many of us dream for a trip like that. Thanks for sharing.
  24. LOL, that would be snoring at our age.
  25. The sale of items is a gray area. I have bought capes from out of province which are then mounted and able to be sold (with proper receipts). You are unable to sell migratory birds, mounted game fish or Ontario game animals if you live here. Reproductions are a completely different story, since they aren't actually the fish. However, all rules are out on the black market. They can be a hot item south of the border. I would be surprised if Shawn and James were involved in an insurance scam. Only they know if they have purchased the right coverage for lost/damaged customer items.
