  1. The Ballard Curse will have them lose the first choice overall, maybe even the second and third also with the new format. There's always next year Matt!
  2. Good luck on the open water! Welcome.
  3. But people do take offense and the results could be damaging; maybe not in this situation but people can be devastated by cyber responses. It's too easy to jump all over someone when we are just typing words on to a screen. Our response should be as simple as what chris.brock said. Welcome him and explain the rules if he crossed the line.
  4. Forget about targeting pike on this lake. Panfish are good in the shallows of all Kawartha Lakes.
  5. They used to have postcards like that years ago when I was a kid. I loved them then, not so much now. Thanks for sharing though.
  6. I am dreading the day I have to do this Cliff. I feel for you. I hope it all goes well for you and you find another home of your dreams. Have you ever considered the mobile home route?
  7. I wish I could get away with this at work and keep operating while running a deficit.
  8. I think most leaf fans are frustrated davey bouy. I definitely don't watch them as much as I have in the past, usually just flick to the station to see the score.
  9. It makes sense since they are probably feeding on fresh water shrimp or scuds.
  10. I don't know if to cry or laugh at some of these posts. I do know that we're in trouble when politicians talk about millions and billions of dollars like it's pocket change.
  11. The Marlies are the best team in the AHL. They're on the right track.
  12. Try a worm on a drop shot rig. Fish in any depth of water, but if you can find about a 6' flat that drops into deeper water, that's where I would start.
  13. I think that Reimer was going to ask for more money than the leafs were will to pay. They have too much $$$ tied up in Bernier now to give Reimer $3 mil or more. It can't hurt their chances at getting one of the top three picks either. I don't think anyone inquired about Bernier, but I'm sure they would have sent him on his way if there was an offer. Hopefully Sparks doesn't come in like a star that her might be in the future.
  14. Went out yesterday. There were a few fish to be had, but still a tough bite. Brought home some for a fish fry. I just stuck with the hole and waited for them to come around. We went out of Beaverton. Fished in 25' to 35' for perch. We did try some deeper water for whities with no luck. I have never had luck with cold fronts when ice fishing, but like someone else said, it's better than sitting on the couch.
  15. He drove the car on the river????
  16. I haven't been there before. Somewhere I would like to try though.
  17. yep. My annual income just went down and no end in sight. At least I am supposed to save $2 a year on my $400 a month hydro bill.
  18. Welcome to the board! The dams at the lock areas can be good at times. You have them in Fenelon Falls, Bobcaygeon and Lindsay.
  19. Like I said I should have asked before I went to St. Martins. I didn't see anyone fishing in Marigot, so I assumed it was a nature reserve area.
  20. I have had great luck for Lakers with senkos in the past.
  21. I should have thrown this out to all of you months ago, but figured I would do it now before planning another trip. I always bring some fishing gear to be prepared if I have the opportunity for some shore fishing in the south. Unfortunately I haven't found an opportunity on the last two trips I made. On the last one to St. Martins I didn't see one person fishing from shore anywhere. What I did see was huge Tarpon swimming around, yet everyone I asked said I couldn't fish, that they were nature reserves. Wondering if people would share best destinations for shore fishing in the Caribbean. Maybe I can plan better for next time. Thanks
  22. Just because you don't need boat insurance doesn't mean that you wouldn't be liable if you hit someone. Who do you use for $20/mth Sinker?
  23. I had a friend go there twice in the past two weeks. He went out around Belleville and Trenton. Skunked both times. I'm thinking the Picton area would be better.
  24. Insurance companies dictate everything we do, of course you would need insurance.
