  1. Weekend cottage renovators, gotta be back in the city when the dump opens Monday morning. Like Irish said they should leave the dumps open in cottage country on the weekend,
  2. Seems slow, how are you measuring speed ? it could be off and you are going faster in reality
  3. Fished there a few summers years ago camping at the Prov.Park, we did well on a couple of shoals just SW of Ferguson Island but it was always an evening bite, 7 to 10 PM, was always a few boats grouped together in a small area at prime time. Never did well on pickerel during the day.
  4. The ones with the Hula dancer on the back work the best 😁
  5. Think there are a few Benos, Lazy Ikes and maybe a Ping-A -T as well, quite the haul 👍
  6. Just remember your sonar measures how far the cannonball is from the transducer , not how far down it is. 75 feet from the transducer with the cables angled back a bit may only be 60 feet down even though they are marking 75 feet on the screen. Revisit you high school geometry.
  7. I was there 20 years ago, as I recall the majourity of cottages were water access, including the friend's I was at. The access road on the south end dead ended at a marina with a large parking lot, maybe it has changed but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
  8. Not fishing but this showed up on my facebook this morning, thought it was funny
  9. In the same boat here, some of it is age related in males. Everything tastes better with Sriracha Sauce, I put it on everything, one of the few things I can taste 🤣
  10. All the careful planning goes for naught when this happens
  11. Watch Costco for sales on the Food Saver Bags, I usually get a box of 4 rolls , if on sale you get 4 for the price of 3 basically.
  12. Knew John pretty well , he did live just around the corner from me, liked his steelhead articles when he wrote for Chronzy's rag . Think it was '89 he won the Star Salmon Derby and I had to drive past that 20 foot Wilker and Dodge pickup grand prize everyday going to work.
  13. First I saw them used for steelheading was an article by Dick Swann " the father of noodle rods " probably late 70's. I got one of the reissue ones with the black graphite body in the 80's, ran it at night on the float rod with glow stick floats after a big mess in the dark with the centrepin. Also ran it a few times in the Whirlpool with slip floats, it was OK but never really liked the drag on it.
  14. Yep , them and Daiwa SS Tournaments back in the days, even the Shakespeare 1810 closed face had a following.
  15. For less traffic you could start at Fort Severn and work your way up to Hudson's Bay 🤣
  16. Surprised to see them on a open water Erie fish, I would have thought you would more likely encounter them on say a resident Grand River fish or some other soft bottom. weedy, warm body of water.
  17. Green , Beige or the newer Black ones with the skirted spool ? Zebco or ABU ?
  18. This Amazon.ca seller has a good selection , pretty reasonable https://www.amazon.ca/stores/M+MAXIMUMCATCH/page/F90FD9D1-B836-4A3A-859B-594B0A437937?ref_=ast_bln
  19. Next pro bass tourney let' em start 10 miles from the launch ramp and boats on a trailer, could add a whole new element of excitement to the tourney
  20. That is really cool, they are every bit as unique as the Auroras, perhaps even more so.
  21. Dollar Store pool noodles , closed cell too .
  22. I believe as migratory birds they require a Migratory Game Bird Permit and steel shot, definitely no rifles and the same rules as ducks and geese as far as shooting from a power boat, motor off and fully stopped.
  23. Another of my 60's British Blues guitar heroes passed in his sleep a few days ago, RIP Peter , one of the founders of the real Fleetwood Mac . Santana got a lot of airplay covering this Peter Green tune
  24. The torque of the motor naturally causes a boat to lean to the left/port under power , that is why they are set up with the driver's seat on the right /starboard to offset this, does it level out under power ?
