  1. In the same boat here, some of it is age related in males. Everything tastes better with Sriracha Sauce, I put it on everything, one of the few things I can taste 🤣
  2. All the careful planning goes for naught when this happens
  3. Watch Costco for sales on the Food Saver Bags, I usually get a box of 4 rolls , if on sale you get 4 for the price of 3 basically.
  4. Knew John pretty well , he did live just around the corner from me, liked his steelhead articles when he wrote for Chronzy's rag . Think it was '89 he won the Star Salmon Derby and I had to drive past that 20 foot Wilker and Dodge pickup grand prize everyday going to work.
  5. First I saw them used for steelheading was an article by Dick Swann " the father of noodle rods " probably late 70's. I got one of the reissue ones with the black graphite body in the 80's, ran it at night on the float rod with glow stick floats after a big mess in the dark with the centrepin. Also ran it a few times in the Whirlpool with slip floats, it was OK but never really liked the drag on it.
  6. Yep , them and Daiwa SS Tournaments back in the days, even the Shakespeare 1810 closed face had a following.
  7. For less traffic you could start at Fort Severn and work your way up to Hudson's Bay 🤣
  8. Surprised to see them on a open water Erie fish, I would have thought you would more likely encounter them on say a resident Grand River fish or some other soft bottom. weedy, warm body of water.
  9. Green , Beige or the newer Black ones with the skirted spool ? Zebco or ABU ?
  10. This Amazon.ca seller has a good selection , pretty reasonable https://www.amazon.ca/stores/M+MAXIMUMCATCH/page/F90FD9D1-B836-4A3A-859B-594B0A437937?ref_=ast_bln
  11. Next pro bass tourney let' em start 10 miles from the launch ramp and boats on a trailer, could add a whole new element of excitement to the tourney
  12. That is really cool, they are every bit as unique as the Auroras, perhaps even more so.
  13. Dollar Store pool noodles , closed cell too .
  14. I believe as migratory birds they require a Migratory Game Bird Permit and steel shot, definitely no rifles and the same rules as ducks and geese as far as shooting from a power boat, motor off and fully stopped.
  15. Another of my 60's British Blues guitar heroes passed in his sleep a few days ago, RIP Peter , one of the founders of the real Fleetwood Mac . Santana got a lot of airplay covering this Peter Green tune
  16. The torque of the motor naturally causes a boat to lean to the left/port under power , that is why they are set up with the driver's seat on the right /starboard to offset this, does it level out under power ?
  17. 7 foot swells aren't bad until they start to break on top 🤣
  18. Once my parents has a small nest above their back door, they didn't have any hornet killer so I used Easy Off Oven Cleaner, worked just as good. It was years back so maybe it is not as caustic today.
  19. Didn't get their number
  20. seen somewhere it said the spread of the coronavirus is dependent on two factors : 1: How dense the population is 2: How dense the population is
  21. Probably Chokecherries this time of year
  22. Back in the day , I just got a seasons pass for 50 Point, they are still listed for $115, I was going out twice a week back then, weather permitting, so it paid for itself by May 2-4 weekend and I ran all summer out of there even crossing to the mouth of Bronte as it was only about 8 miles. If the pass still includes launches it works out pretty cheap.
  23. I recall the Port Dover fire dept had to bring out the pumper truck years ago to wash down the hill out of town so cars could get up it was so slick from squished bodies.
  24. Hatchery Frankenfish shaped like footballs, thought got rid of that broodstock years ago.
