  1. Being serious though...as everyone has said, there's lotsa G2G's going on all the time. Sandra and I made our first at Lakair this past June, we had a blast.
  2. Liar...I bet your lip is not even bitten.

Winds look to be from the north for the weekend, it's a long open lake running almost due north to south, it'll be a rough ride up Pigeon to the narrows, it's all shallow water and can blow up real bad with a nasty chop, and not much better once you get into Buckhorn. With the forecasted temps, as Tony Montana would say "dress warm". Your best bet may be to stay in the river and fish the deeper channel and weed edges. Cold front like what's forecast is gonna make for a tough bite. I hope you enjoy your trip, but I would wait a week and see what happens with the weather. Emily is dead this time of year, I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem rescheduling.
  4. Most of the shootin around here seems to be well after sunset...
  5. I have a 2001 V6 (3.9L) Dakota. Definitely get the V8. My truck is thirsty and underpowered at times. The 3.7 has few more horses, but I had one in a 2003 Liberty for awhile and it was as thirsty (or worse) than my Dakota. Overall, a good truck, I've been happy with mine. Most of the mileage on mine was done in the first two years (113K), since then it's only an occasional vehicle. Over ten years old and only 155K now, I plan on keeping it for many years to come.
  6. Probably what his sonar was showing...rather than fish.
  7. I know the park you mean now. My buddy had a trailer at Donro for years. What was the third park called that is now gone?
  8. Whereabouts on the lake is it? For some reason, Sandshell sounds like one of the parks at Flood's Landing, except it closed almost 20 years ago...nothing but houses now.
  9. So I guess it doesn't work then...
  10. Fished around home (Buckhorn & Chemong) about the same as most years with a couple camping trips (Lakair & Crotch) thrown in. Overall, I'd say it was a pretty good year. Although no PBs were caught, except for my buddy's 7lb pickerel on Chemong, most times out we caught some quality fish, especially for bass with lots of 3 1/2 to 5 pounders over the summer. We always struggle for fish in the fall, but soon it'll be time for jumbo perch off the dock in the evenings with always the chance for a big pickerel looking for a snack. We usually don't catch much but a good excuse for a fire and some beer.

  12. What impressed me the most...Dave did almost a full push-up to get up from the dock.
  13. Ernie put a set of these on my Dakota a few years ago and they've done everything I've ever asked of them. I highly recommend.
  14. How much would it weigh if it was still full of milk?
  15. My concern with the traditional "hang em" scales, would be damage to the fish. It's easy to hook into a gill, or with bigger fish, damage the jaw bone if it thrashes. Having said that, I have a Berkley digital, was always pretty accurate, but haven't used it in years. One way to avoid the jaw hang, get yourself some sort of fish bag to weigh the fish in and subtract the weight of the bag.
  16. We seem to get one or two planned outages a year. Usually about 4 hours or so and plenty of notice before hand. No big deal.
  17. Well, Peterborough is less than 30 minutes for me...kinda depends where you're starting from.
  18. Ya might wanna try some top-water...just had a musky break off a Pop'R tonight on Buckhorn.
  19. You want one you can sail?
  20. Why? Will it make the gas-pedal stick?
  21. Looks like you got both kinds of pickerel there...
  22. If the conditions are right...nothing beats the ole Rebel Magnum Pop'R.
  23. I thought Toyotas fixed themselves??? The torch should help.
  24. There's a public launch beside Viamedes Resort. You have to park up the road, but at 6am, that shouldn't be a problem.
  25. Are you not allowed near the good china when hung over?
