  1. You wouldn't seriously leave the lower unit empty (with no oil) all winter would you?
  2. Wow, you guys don't waste any time. Cute pup!
  3. ...one thing I was reminded of while fishing off the dock tonight...dogs make the best hand warmers...
  4. My big old guy, Bear, used to love riding in the boat: This was one of his last trips when he was 13: I don't seem to have any pics of Moosy in the boat, but she loves it as well. Here is one out ice-fishing, give her a ball and she's entertained for hours: What I found with my dogs and fishing, is that they were much better behaved in the boat when I was out alone with them. With a partner in the boat, they seemed much more impatient.
  5. I moved to the area from Mississauga 15 1/2 years ago. Love it, wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I was lucky enough to buy on the lake about 20 to 30 minutes from town when it was still more affordable to do so. That being said, it's still possible to buy decent on the lake for $350K or so, see what you get in Mississauga or the like for that. Peterborough as a town has everything I need, heck Bridgenorth almost does.
  6. Worse, what happens in the spring when it thaws with a drowned, bloated mouse in it...peeeyeeew.
  7. Look at your local Costco, they usually get a bunch at this time of year. But like most seasonal things at Costco, once they're gone, they're gone...Last year they were $285 for an auger that is $350 to $400 everywhere else.
  8. I have the 8" Eskimo from Costco as well. It only has one season under its belt, but has worked perfectly, very easy to start.
  9. NF, Dan...you gotta look for the NF!
  10. He must be stubborn...how many years did he let that go on before he caught on?
  11. Since they've opened up a year round pan-fish season in the Kawarthas, I've ice fished more than ever before. For years we would make one or two trips a year to Nipissing or Simcoe. The last two years I've fished more hardwater locally than the previous 15 years put together.
  12. Well you can take the train in Indonesia... or India... Sometimes we forget how comfy we have it here.

My suggestion...keep hidin' Ottawa is 14th in the conference.

They are in the same conference: Jets 15th....Habs 16th.
  15. So sorry to hear, Brian. She was a cutey. I know Moosy took a particular liking to her.
  16. I think he was happy to have all of himself left...insurance will take care of the car.
  17. In the last eleven years, besides mostly silly communication devices and TVs, I don't think we've had that many extraordinary technological advances.
  18. From the look of the Sens so far...I don't think that'll be a problem...
  19. Always a sad day, they really are the best of friends.
  20. I thought Roy already did that...
  21. Wow Cliff, I thought my wood was getting expensive at $285 a bush cord. Cut, split and delivered 10 feet from where I stack it. I always get mine freshly split in the spring. Must be "city" (as in City of Kawartha Lakes) prices you're paying over there on the far side of Pigeon Lake.
  22. Tell us how it feels when it's -30 outside.
  23. If I had to drive 1/2 an hour to get air, I'd buy a small compressor,
  24. I heat almost exclusively with wood, base boards are only used if we are away for a couple days or more. Usually we burn about 3 1/2 cords a year, cut & split that's about $1000. Not bad when I talk to most folks spending at least $2000 to heat their house. Mind you, I just spent $2000+ to have a new stove-pipe and chimney installed. I love the wood heat, she's been on a slow burn all weekend. I've never heard of such a by-law, that sucks.
  25. Not necessarily a PB, but a nice fall musky from a couple years ago on Buckhorn... Overall, I tend to struggle to find fish in the fall.
