  1. Alright, there's specks in quebec...now I know! Seriously, those are some incredible specimens. Serious kudos!
  2. Are you sure?? LOL! The braid I use sure doesn't
  3. World's greatest sport fish. Nice shootin!
  4. Just a rock bass...I mean WOW sweet rock bass!!!
  5. Awesome! The i-Pilot sounds incredible
  6. What a big ugly beast. Get out the cajun spice, the whole town's eatin' good for a week...yeehaw!
  7. Local tournaments are clearly having an effect on big bass populations in smaller, pressured lakes. Not that I think a week would makes things any worse (I voted in favour) but nonetheless. I really enjoy keeping the odd small to medium sized smallmouth for the pan. Very mild, sweet flesh, similar to perch.
  8. Steelhead on light bass tackle are so much fun. Beauty fish buddy!
  9. Great fishing. Those are all real chunky brownies to boot!
  10. Heaven in a bucket!
  11. Saw a BUNCH of butterflies in the bush today. Underbrush already starting to come up full force, and the fiddleheads are almost too big to pick!
  12. I have an old 14 foot fiberglass canoe with a thru tear about 7 or 8 inches long [sorry, no pictures at this time]. I have never done a repair of this nature, but it seems as though all I will need is fiberglass cloth and marine grade epoxy resin, with a filler for the top layer. What weight of cloth would you reccomend for the repair? This will be a lake canoe, and will not be facing much abuse from rocks. Are they any specific brands of epoxy resin or filler you would reccomend? Thanks in advance.
  13. Wow, amazing brown. Definitely an excellent week of fishing for you, sir!
  14. The hype machine has forever blown scientific findings out of proportion, in order to make it marketable, and global warming is probably the best example I can think of. Whether or not I believe we are affecting our climate [read: I do] is irrelevant to the fact that we are severely disrupting the carbon cycle by burning huge amounts of carbon locked up in the ground and depositing it into the atmosphere. It makes sense to me that this would lock in heat, but I really don't know enough about the science to say one way or another. I guess if the damage isn't immediate and shocking, people really don't care?
  15. Aside from being expensive [i can only assume] and very bulky to transport, that is AWESOME.
  16. I sure do, and I am one of them. It irks me that my license fees are consistently increased while MNR funding decreases...whoever thinks that large scale compliance with fishing regs is the norm is flat out wrong as far as I'm concerned. All the while Native Canadians deem themselves worthy of special limits [i do not mean to generalize, but this is what native communities continue to fight for] in the name of cultural preservation, only to sell it right it back to the 'invasive' European man. I'd be very interested in some statistics as to how many of these fish are used for 'ceremonial purposes'. It is agreed upon by most everyone that the inherent issue is the 'us vs. them' mentality of first nations vs. MNR, but how can you not expect that to persist when you have two wildly different sets of regulations.

  18. If the ol tundra was about 2 inches wider, it would have been a great sleep... Had a blast of course! I'd like to make a trip back there with the canoe for some inland smallies. I've heard the lakes on the island are excellent.
  19. Most deepwater bays [most bays with marinas] get decent numbers of them at times, but it's very hit or miss at best. Some real big girls though!
  20. Well...I can drink Glenlivet neat, and if I continue to do so, the face scar will come naturally...
  21. It's well known spot for migratory birds and turtles, so it's obviously a relatively healthy ecosystem. I'm sure it has some panfish. Go try it.
  22. Some sunday night Hank... <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EtY18zV5QM?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EtY18zV5QM?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EtY18zV5QM?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
  23. I'm sure people would more than willing to share that information with you where thousands of eyes are watching... You obviously don't live far, go find out yourself.
  24. Nice lakers. Good job on patterning some chunky fish!
  25. Beautiful fish. Isn't it awesome when a new pattern comes together?
