  1. i think im kinda done with hockey for the season. I could give two less turds about any of these teams. I like jono toews a lot but watching chicago or LA win the cup every year blows. Dont even get me started about the east...yawwwnnnnnn Like stammer but to hell with the cup ending up in Florida Bettman wins again.
  2. unreal, havent seen a burbot that big in a while. My cabin in bakers narrows in Manitoba on little athapapskow was situated where the world record was caught in 94...it has since been beaten but it was cool knowing that the all tackle world record was caught within eyesight of my dock.
  3. Go Caps! either team will be crushed by the ducks or chicago lol
  4. same with GB...i always say big water big fish..but the work is much harder.
  5. i can tell you right now, there is no law pertaining to this. If it is, it is not enforced at all because I pass cop cars stuck in traffic on the right weekly. I cycle every day to work in downtown toronto and if I along with every other cyclist in Toronto were to wait in traffic lines, we would never get anywhere. When you are in the city literally every single cyclist has to do this out of necessity due to gridlock. The best bet is to just use roads with bike lanes, however its not always 100% an option. I do have to laugh at the cyclist related sentiment, I as a driver and cyclist would like to point out the general stupidity of the majority of drivers far exceeds that of cyclists on average. I personally know along with most other cyclists that we have wayyyy more at stake in a collision with a motor vehicle. For a car driver a collision with a cyclist is a nuisance, for me its a matter of life or death. I cannot tell you the amount of times ive nearly been hit by drivers making completely idiotic maneuvers such as turning right at an intersection from the left lane on a two lane road, or more commonly, clearly seeing me riding down a road, however feeling that because I am a cyclist it is the right of the motor vehicle operator to pull out from a side street directly infront of me even though you make eye contact with me and acknowledged that I am visible. Hate all you want, but if you expect me to contribute to the environment by sitting in gridlock for an hour a day, vs passing some stopped cars on the right come at me bro lol
  6. try air BNB in the area you can usually get 1 day rentals. https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/5837496?checkin=15-07-2015&checkout=20-07-2015&guests=4&s=nkjy
  7. can anyone confirm how the chain sinnet is attached to the ring? Im guessing you simply wrap the first look around the ring?
  8. jeez, a dozen fish over 15 lbs sounds like a really fun day.
  9. jigging walleye, ive got a 10 inch length of of 20lb fluro tied to the jig, i then tie that to the fluro using 20lb xxxsmall raven micro swivel...this presentation was a game changer for me over everyone else in the boat last fall, coulda been luck, but it seems to be working for me a lot better than not running a leader like in previous years. Coulda went lighter on the fluro but i fish a river with a lot of snags everywhere, I need to still be able to get the jig out from the rocks when dead sticking, plus I never get bit off.
  10. jesus, those perch are bigger than the bass i catch ahhaa
  11. Ovi is the story, i think hes gonna do it this year. Im gonna be pissed if Chicago wins it yet again...yawwwwnnn
  12. catching a 40 incher tomorrow and i dont even care what you say!

  13. you know how it goes though, you play the right way and the bounces seem to find their way. Just like the leafs 2 years ago, montreal's play isnt sustainable. I remember at the begining of the year when they were on that ridiculous unbeaten streak. I think 17 of the games were won by 1 goal and 10 of them went to overtime. Everyone knew montreal had major goal scoring problems, and scoring 1 a game like they have been doing the majority of the playoffs isnt going to cut it. When the team is relying on brendan Ghallager and Brandon Prust to bail them out on the scoring side of things you are probably in trouble. Also Plekenec has been invisible the entire playoffs, I think his turtle neck is a bit to soft for the style of play. Same old story, toughen up the team up front because they have no presence at all. Montreal plays the speed game, and Tampa is showing that they play the speed game much better. Thats about it.
  14. gotta love the environmentally friendly thought of lighting a mattress on fire to throw on the bottom of a lake lmao. I would hope people these days would realize how terrible this is lol.
  15. Praying that the cold front that is going to move through this weekend hits later in the weekend!!!

  16. I was trolling a rapala on pickerel river a while back when i hooked into what i thought was an absolute pig...after a long fight with drag being pulled back and forth, I pulled out a diawa bait caster rod and reel with line lure and everything. It looked like it had been submerged for a couple of weeks as it was starting to get covered in a bit of mud and algae. I ended up looking up the value of the set up and unfortunately for me it was just a cheap set up so the effort to clean up the reel wasnt worth the effort. I thought I had landed a monster though. Nothing beats the time my brother literally caught a boot though ahhahaa.
  17. cant wait to see some more reports from Pete's trips. It makes it more interesting knowing the guide in person!
  18. absolutely killing it! Awesome!
  19. please explain
  20. Everyone got reminded why no one watches boxing lol
  21. glad to see you guys caught a few!, some day I am going to have to save up some pennies and get Pete to take me out for some musky. The part about Pete being personable is dead on, hes the kinda guy you want to be fishing with for sure. One of the nicest guys on the boards for sure.
  22. my first time ever fishing the kawarthas I was throwing a half o spinner for bass and caught a hammer handle, my friends in the boat were losing it because they somehow never catch musky and I come out on my first day and get one. First experience with a big one, was dead sticking for eyes in the late fall, when randomly in the middle of the channel I dark log float up to the surface, it glides along, until i realize holy crap thats a fish, I swap lures as fast as i can to no avail the fish doesnt even care, it just continues swimming along and then dives back down to the depths. The fish was definitely over 50.
  23. island lake is a perch paradise for a kid. I ice fished it a lot this winter and we couldnt keep the perch off our lines. Throw the odd dink pike in and youve got a kid entertained all day. There is even the odd largie and crappie but dont go out expecting to fill the boat with them. You cant beat the accessibility of island lake either, with plenty of options for a a nice snack lunch/dinner with the kid right next door. its even within eyesight of a canadian tire in case you forget anything.
  24. ive actually heard of people spraying wd40 on lures as an attractant. Not kidding.
