  1. any details on the combo? it may come up on kijiji?
  2. man you guys are on the bigguns...beauty stuff!
  3. this about explains it Also...if only one unit is G2N they unfortunately cannot be networked together. Do you know if your new terrova has ipilot link? or just normal ipilot? with your G2N unit you could purchase the new lakemaster ontario card and use it to control your terrova. You can make it drive along depth lines along a shoreline etc...really cool stuff.
  4. IMO where panoptix really shines is ice fishing...its just as good as anything on the water, but its leaps and bounds beyond anything when it comes to ice fishing. its a game changer.
  5. There was an intense downburst here in toronto that did some intense damage to the trees in forest hill as well. This morning driving into work I was driving around downed trees everywhere.
  6. i spent 3 years working in a cemetery regrowing grass on dug plots...the best method was first of all using the best soil you could by. No triple mix or any of that crap. you need something that is almost like straight manure, no sticks or other garbage...it should pretty much have the consistancy of potting soil. Lay that stuff down tick, then spread your seed on it...then take a roller to roll the seed into the soil. this keeps it exposed but allows it to germinate by not being buried. Then water is your friend, basically keep the soil damp at all times and cool. It doesnt usually work to well if its hot, it needs to be nice and cool out. That might be your problem is that its been too sunny and hot lately to get it going well. hopefully it works out for you! good luck. Also consider that your soil might have something wrong with it...bad PH or perhaps you are getting a bunch of salt on it from the winter or something? grass never likes to grow near salted sidewaks.
  7. this is what i used https://www.amazon.ca/Rig-Rite-Manufacturing-300-Transducer/dp/B0000BVFUU really really simple, you use the mounting bolt and their washers to stick it to the bottom of the motor head. Then tighten the O clamp. your trolling motor is either cable drive and the shaft doesnt move so you can just tape the wire to the shaft like this If you are running a Terrova or other deploying motor that needs to slide through a bracket, theres an indent on the shaft to run the cable up. Super straight forward stuff. Im guessing both of your units console and trolling motor are both side imaging? If not i highly suggest running your side imaging unit at the console as side imaging is much more effective while moving/trolling (used for finding structure etc) down imaging and standard sonar are much better at the trolling motor screen. If you are networked...more power to you!
  8. fish pike if you are fishing the bay...bass is still closed so put any that you catch back immediately and leave the spot.
  9. this makes me want to be at the lake
  10. lol it all depends on the lake and what time of year...you can definitely get on the skunk once september hits...but if your entire boat cant catch bass in the kawarthas or on georgian bay from opener until september you gotta work at it harder lol Those bloody lakes are infested. Ive definetly had days where luck wasnt on my side and i just couldnt buy a fish, but the frustration is always compounded in these scenarios because the person im fishing with is probably absolutely hammering them. There are definitely slower days than others, but i cant remember the last day we got skunked fishing bass where it wasnt the fall when the bass transition out into the open. Last year may have been the last time i took someone out for a whole day fishing and they didnt catch anything all day...and were pretty upset because the rest of the boat had hammered them..sure enough i had to help my buddy out...i took him to a spot that without fail always works...at sunset throw a top water 2 feet to the right of that object and start walking the lure back...and like every other single time sure enough he caught his first fish of the day. That was the same day that i caught a PB smallie and another couple of 4lbers plus plenty more. It was just not his day.
  11. it always blows me away how small the fishing community is. City anglers is buddies with my buddy Dave. Maybe even you know dave aka limeybasstard? nice ski!
  12. ditto on taro murata...hes your guy
  13. im feeling good about my choices then as I have been using seafoam in my gas for stabalization and de-carbonating I have never been a fan of 2 strokes and ethanol...to me they are just straight up a no go.
  14. man, it seems like the bite was just on this weekend. Everyone was catching! Well done!
  15. Art, Ive made it a deal that rather then deal with fuel additives ive started to only purchase ethanol free premium gas for the boat. Do you think this is good enough for the outboard vs using a product like "ring free"
  16. 1/2 day for musky...you gotta expect the skunk. I went out with a board member a few years back on the hunt for musky...it literally took 10,000 casts but when it finally happened i got a big one. Anything can happen when it comes to laketrout muskies or walleye...some days you get bit others you dont. Once I am living comfortably i will probably start guiding myself...at least with bass you know you arent going to get skunked unless the person you are fishing with is really really really bad. The most expensive part of guiding is the insurance...commercial vessel insurance is insane. If the clientel come to you? then the only cost is gas and general maintenance.
  17. ive used nautilus all my life too because it was just what my dad bought for the boats...i didnt know a thing about oil. I always knew that my two strokes smoked like a chimney and my prop would always be pretty sooted up, but i figured it was just the way a carburated two stroke ran... Then I got my own boat and my mom even made a comment, jesus your boat doesnt stink or put out plumes of smoke...and its a carburated two stroke as well...then it dawned on me, this boat has always used semi syn TCW-3 Pennzoil Premium Plus...The oil really makes all of the difference.
  18. canadian tire also gives back an additional 10% back in canadian tire money! seafoam gunking stuff up? Never heard of it...i was a skeptic, didnt believe that a can of some brake cleaner was going to fix my 88 suzuki 15...sure enough one can and some ethanol free gas...changed the motor entirely. First pull starts, smooth idle, way more power...I was sold
  19. just repeating what was said...find a small apartment to rent for you and your mom, and get yourself a bus pass. Labour job and bust your ass. You should be able to make ends meet. Stay the hell away from beer, smokes, weed and gambling and you should be doing just fine. Need something to do? Go fishing...even us crazy idiots that spend stupid amounts on gear could go catch fish on a $20 canadian tire set up if we really had to.
  20. lol $1,800 too much? The tenant that lived in my 700 square foot two bedroom apartment that I own was paying 1,850 a month. No storage locker and I live at lawrence and dufferin, technically north york and not the city of toronto. Most people with two bedrooms in the city of toronto are paying over 2 grand a month. A 1 bedroom apartment near transit in toronto is $1,200 minimum. 340k is your budget, you are going to need to move to sudbury or north bay..and even then you wont get 5 bedrooms. Serious question, is there any particular reason you have to live in the GTA? Unless you have a really really great job, you can basically move the hell away and take a much worse job and have the same amount of money in your pocket at the end of every month because housing costs are so much cheaper away from the GTA. I heavily considered moving to North Bay, buying a house cash and then living with no mortgage and a pile of equity that I would invest. I would then take a job making 25% less and still have more money in my pocket at the end of every pay period. Only reason i decided to stay in toronto is because I dont know anyone in north bay or sudbury. If your whole family is looking to move, its worth considering.
  21. nothing like perch on a bulldawg lol
  22. jesus i should make a business smuggling this stuff over the border. Its one thing to pay double the price in canada, its another to just simply not be able to get anything.
  23. this is so cool, I had no idea this subspecies of white fish even exists...they look like a hybrid of a tarpon and snook. So friggin cool. Any comparable to what kind of fish they taste most like. Im guessing they are pretty much exactly like whities? better worse?
  24. ill make a stop through then next Friday for sure. thanks for the heads up.
  25. they have scientifically proven that the biggest factor in delayed mortality related to Bass tournaments is water temperature. Basically they have stated that its almost a non issue this far north. its more of a problem in the southern US where temperatures in lakes get stupid hot.
