  1. Art, Ive made it a deal that rather then deal with fuel additives ive started to only purchase ethanol free premium gas for the boat. Do you think this is good enough for the outboard vs using a product like "ring free"
  2. 1/2 day for musky...you gotta expect the skunk. I went out with a board member a few years back on the hunt for musky...it literally took 10,000 casts but when it finally happened i got a big one. Anything can happen when it comes to laketrout muskies or walleye...some days you get bit others you dont. Once I am living comfortably i will probably start guiding myself...at least with bass you know you arent going to get skunked unless the person you are fishing with is really really really bad. The most expensive part of guiding is the insurance...commercial vessel insurance is insane. If the clientel come to you? then the only cost is gas and general maintenance.
  3. ive used nautilus all my life too because it was just what my dad bought for the boats...i didnt know a thing about oil. I always knew that my two strokes smoked like a chimney and my prop would always be pretty sooted up, but i figured it was just the way a carburated two stroke ran... Then I got my own boat and my mom even made a comment, jesus your boat doesnt stink or put out plumes of smoke...and its a carburated two stroke as well...then it dawned on me, this boat has always used semi syn TCW-3 Pennzoil Premium Plus...The oil really makes all of the difference.
  4. canadian tire also gives back an additional 10% back in canadian tire money! seafoam gunking stuff up? Never heard of it...i was a skeptic, didnt believe that a can of some brake cleaner was going to fix my 88 suzuki 15...sure enough one can and some ethanol free gas...changed the motor entirely. First pull starts, smooth idle, way more power...I was sold
  5. just repeating what was said...find a small apartment to rent for you and your mom, and get yourself a bus pass. Labour job and bust your ass. You should be able to make ends meet. Stay the hell away from beer, smokes, weed and gambling and you should be doing just fine. Need something to do? Go fishing...even us crazy idiots that spend stupid amounts on gear could go catch fish on a $20 canadian tire set up if we really had to.
  6. lol $1,800 too much? The tenant that lived in my 700 square foot two bedroom apartment that I own was paying 1,850 a month. No storage locker and I live at lawrence and dufferin, technically north york and not the city of toronto. Most people with two bedrooms in the city of toronto are paying over 2 grand a month. A 1 bedroom apartment near transit in toronto is $1,200 minimum. 340k is your budget, you are going to need to move to sudbury or north bay..and even then you wont get 5 bedrooms. Serious question, is there any particular reason you have to live in the GTA? Unless you have a really really great job, you can basically move the hell away and take a much worse job and have the same amount of money in your pocket at the end of every month because housing costs are so much cheaper away from the GTA. I heavily considered moving to North Bay, buying a house cash and then living with no mortgage and a pile of equity that I would invest. I would then take a job making 25% less and still have more money in my pocket at the end of every pay period. Only reason i decided to stay in toronto is because I dont know anyone in north bay or sudbury. If your whole family is looking to move, its worth considering.
  7. nothing like perch on a bulldawg lol
  8. jesus i should make a business smuggling this stuff over the border. Its one thing to pay double the price in canada, its another to just simply not be able to get anything.
  9. this is so cool, I had no idea this subspecies of white fish even exists...they look like a hybrid of a tarpon and snook. So friggin cool. Any comparable to what kind of fish they taste most like. Im guessing they are pretty much exactly like whities? better worse?
  10. ill make a stop through then next Friday for sure. thanks for the heads up.
  11. they have scientifically proven that the biggest factor in delayed mortality related to Bass tournaments is water temperature. Basically they have stated that its almost a non issue this far north. its more of a problem in the southern US where temperatures in lakes get stupid hot.
  12. id trade him for a bag of pucks lol unproven nothing unproven about a 40 goal season and then a 34 goal season when you are gone for 20 games.
  13. "unrpoven" lolllll thats right, the last guy to score 40 goals on ottawa was heatly ahhaa 50 in 07 right lol Nottawa hasnt had a 30 goal scorer since spezza in 2012 lmaooo The troll has returned from hibernation i see.
  14. There website says $99 a jug if it was 90 id be going to buy some! from what i have read, i may be wrong but optimax oil is literally quicksilver repackaged. Its the semi syn blend recommended for all mercury outboards...guys in the states typically debate between yamalube, quicksilver or a lot have switched to pennzoil. Therefore the Quicksilver TCW3 4 litre jug available at royal is the same deal. but in a smaller package which may be more convenient for some. Gotta love living in Canada once again where our options are limited and our prices are sky high!
  15. I also just called Royal 48 bucks a jug for amsoil
  16. damn you just sent me into the weeds now lol. We run amsoil for our snowmobiles so it may make sense to pay their "premium customer fee" to buy the oil for 38 bucks a jug if we are going to also buy our snowmobile oil. Although 2 bucks a jug savings isnt that great when you can get quicksilver semi syn at royal for 40 bucks a jug. I have no friggin clue why i am such an idiot and didnt buy a case of pennzoil premium plus for $20 a jug when i was down at walmart in the states...smh I am an idiot.
  17. thank you for finding this...their pricing beats canadian tire for quicksilver. Its odd they dont have pricing on the flyer. You know what is really friggin ridiculous. you can get penzoil premium plus for 20 bucks a gallon down in buffalo...its pretty damn close to worth the drive to walmart in the states...gotta love paying 40 bucks a jug up here.
  18. There is no way in hell AM gets Mcdavid money... he will get his pay day as he should...but theres a huge huge huge huge difference between a guy that played 62 games and had 63 points and 2 points in 7 games in the playoffs vs a guy that put up 108 points in 82 games playing for the friggin oilers. If you are the leafs, you do your absolutel damndest to sign him now while there is "uncertainty" about his health/longevity and the fact that he hasnt scored 50 goals in a season yet. Lock him up immediately at a discount, because he could end up scoring 50 this year and putting up 100+ pts. I have a feeling AM doesnt want to sign because he knows he can put up stupid numbers this year, and when he does his payday will increase substantially.
  19. There is a kill factor indeed, but catch and release works...I just put the same fish in my boat 2 years apart nearly to the day. There is a benefit in tournament fishing to keeping your livewell fish in good shape. Most guys out there are doing all sorts of crazy stuff to try keep their fish in the best shape possible. IMO its way better than the old catch and kill days. I think the rebound of the fish population in almost all lakes proves it. guys are catching more big bass then they ever have. They absolutely smashed the canadian record on simcoe last year 3 times over in 1 single day. The walleye population on georgian bay is on the total rebound since they put a slot 2 fish limit and stopped the commercial fishing up there. guys are catching obscene amounts of walleye with ridiculous size too. There is definitely a kill factor, i agree, but does anyone have difinitive proof of "poor" percentages? From what I can tell, with proper catch and release tactics, fish swim off strong. I will make a point that there is a huge difference between some people's catch and release aka catch, hold the fish out of the water for 10 minutes while taking photos, throwing the fish on teh floor of the boat etc compared to others. Having fished with Pete Hoffman for muskies...I learned how to handle musky in perhaps the best way possible, meanwhile I watch guys in "muskys" Canada throw them on the floor of their boat and yank hooks outta em. I apply what pete taught me to every fish i catch now. I carry a pair of knipex to cut hooks if neccesary, release fish when i can from the net...and give fish a long breather till basically full revival before picking them up for a quick photo and off they go. One of the best rules of thumb, when you pick up the fish out of the water...hold your breath...if you need air, put the fish back in the net and let it breath as well.
  20. I know amsoil is available in Canada, but how do I know which oil to select? Ive been running penzoil premium plus, but you cant get it in canada either. Anyone know?
  21. all of the guys down in the states running v maxes swear by pennzoil. Harder to get up here but my 2 stroke yammy is now 20 years old and runs like a friggin top...the previous owner went down to the states to buy cases of the stuff and has sworn by it...who am i to argue. I get almost 0 smoke out of mine.
  22. Slick find Dave anyone recognize this spot? I wonder if hes poaching in these videos
  23. i hope the idiots were centrepinning or fishing with some other really expensive gear. Classic...the guy has previous offences...shows that the penalties arent harsh enough.
  24. wind flipped the water this weekend, back down to 62 saturday morning. Theres definitely a hard thermocline right now at about 8 fow it kept marking it on the chirp but nothing on the DI. kinda wild to pick it up so much so shallow.
