  1. https://www.nishinelureworks.com/collections/nishine-lure-works-jerkbait The only sinking jerkbait on the entire market, can also be modified to suspend by clipping the weight. Though expensive, they are the best jerkbait I have ever thrown...they are better than the vision 110's IMO and a shadow rap feels like a piece of trash in comparison. They are handmade as well by a guy in St Catherines, and if you ever experience any issues at all, he responds immediately and will replace the bait no questions at asked.
  2. ahhh....the plight of boat horse power... for perspective ive got a 18 foot skeeter with a 130 on it and even it doesnt get on plane as fast as I would like it to...and having followed the guys on the BBC boards...the quest for more HP never ends. Just last week I heard about a guy being worried about a 200 merc having enough power. Im pretty sure unless you have 250hp+ youll never be totally happy lol. My best friend has a 16 foot smokercraft with a merc 60 4 stroke and yup...more than 2 people in the boat it basically just doesnt get on plane ever, and rides like crap when it gets up to speed. I hope the prop helps a bit! Consider going stainless as well...Call me crazy or whatever but i swear to god theres a noticeable difference....big $$$$ though
  3. sounds to me like a governor. Most golf carts have them and they are very simple to remove. Holy heck though once you do they can be pretty damn fun and scary..
  4. got in at 4.50 back in the day, sold at 18.50 when she blipped the first time around, i never looked back. I was also in on APH too, im long gone...bought myself a truck
  5. this is an insane offer for someone with a tinner with a small outboard. Wow...
  6. I think in PAB water levels have also provided a huge improvement in the ability for fish to spawn and thrive. In fact it kind of created the perfect storm...we had close to 20 years of low water, where the forest began to reclaim the shoreline...and then the water rebounded extremely fast and now weve got forest sitting in the first 3 feet of the water line...if that isnt providing insane cover for every fish that likes shallow water to spawn in then i do not know what to say. If you go up shallow looking for pans in the spring they are 20 feet back of the tree line hidden up in the trees. good luck catching em lol.
  7. thatd be a stinky one if you hit it with the prop lol
  8. stuff like this just really proves to me that all of the work that the ministries have done to tighten regs after our history in the 1900's of decimating fish populations is finally coming into fruition. Seriously, it seems like every year the fishing is actually getting easier and the catches are getting bigger. Records are being broken, and guys are having some real success fishing again. Hell, Ohio, youve told me what fishing was like in PAB back in the day...then things really took a sharp decline after the commercial fishing and loose regs...they cranked the regs right down on almost everything and sure enough the fishery has come full circle and guys are catching piles of fish and loads of big ones too. Its a win win for us all, we can still eat a few, but also catch and put a lot more back.
  9. thats crazy cheap, you dont even wanna know how much i paid for my arcteryx...although arcteryx has a lifetime warranty on their products so unless i want a change in style it pretty much is the last rain coat i will ever need to own. A good tip, read up on how to wash your jacket and treat it...I never realized that true goretex actually needs to be washed a certain way and then retreated with DWR...I found this out when i realized that my arcteryx coat was starting to saturate when I was out in very heavy rain...Apparently washing and retreating the coat will bring it back to brand new...I just purchased all of the appropriate cleaners and treatment formula yesterday, i will let you know how i make out.
  10. that explains how the boat gets away with no ladder then. If my understanding is correct, the lowest point of the boat cannot be above .5m of the waterline, and in the case of my skeeter and my tinner the back of the boat barely sits above water. Therefore no ladder needed.
  11. Hey Guys, im confused as heck about this one... So i have looked at the boating regulations and it appears as though any boat up to 19'8 in length is required to have a re boarding ladder. But when i think about it, basically not a single 14 foot tinner that I know of has a reboarding ladder on it...can someone please clarify what the rules are in relation to this? Is it just that its not often enforced, or is it actually a requirement? Is every single small tinner out there in violation of the rules? Ive got an 18 foot bass boat and a 14 foot tinner, neither of them have ladders on them...am i going to get in trouble the next time i run into the OPP?
  12. meh, the league handed them too much...put it this way...there is no way in hell you should be able to get fleury as your goalie free of charge. I dont care that hes playing backup on a team with two really good goalies...A lot of NHL teams try to have two good goalies these days in case one gets hurt...or you have a young stud goaltender on the come up like pittsburgh did, the fact that vegas gets to snipe fleury from them is a tad ridiculous.
  13. one trick to anyone struggling with this...go friggin slow....no one will complain if you are backing up slowly...people will complain if you are backing up and then needing to pull forward again. Im pretty decent at backing trailers up, but even i catch myself making the odd mistake, but if you are going slow its so friggin easy to correct because you havent moved far enough to cause any big issue anyways.
  14. watch they will win...and gary betman will finally fulfill his dream of rigging the NHL to bring it to places where no one actually cares about hockey. When vegas wins it all, seriously we have to ask ourselves, is this the biggest rigged event in sports history? I think its actually worse than the NBA putting Lebron in the finals every year.
  15. huh? are you saying on the US side? cause definitely not on the ontario side
  16. ive been asked for a fishing license by an OPP officer before?
  17. lmao lets boat! i have a buddy whos dad is like this...he just cannot back up a trailer...he doesnt claim to know how to, but he put on an incredible display for us last fall ahahhaa...we eventually parked the boat, got on shore and got into the truck and backed it in and then got back in the boat and put it on the trailer. Luckily we didnt keep anyone waiting.
  18. you gotta piss em off enough, just like a river run salmon, its not that they are eating, its that youve made them mad enough to lash out lol
  19. my mind is blown ive done some fishing in that area and every single lake I fished ahmic, and including smaller ones like doe, and rainy and they all had pike so weird that somehow they never got into that lake. Thats actually pretty wild.
  20. why not try for some pike? water will be in the 50's and the pike will be up shallow on the emerging weeds in the warm bays!
  21. you ever drive through there with the electronics on? i think the fish know where the boundary is too lol
  22. we need to go fishing and ill show you how to rig up a drop shot that will outfish anything... had a morning last year i caught 24, the rest of the boat...a collective 5 using a whole pile of different rigs all displaying the same bait. drop shotting might be the most "gear specific" fishing aside from the obvious fly fishing etc, where the rod you use, the hooks, the line and the technique all matter a ton.
  23. thats just the structure available, has nothing to do with the regs. I can assure you that allowing the bass to spawn basically undisturbed has a positive effect on bass populations. Go fish a heavily pressured lake like the kawarthas and then take a trip to the north eastern side of georgian bay where the smallmouth population is virtually undisturbed all year aside from a couple of anglers...People think their fishing is good on their respective lake, they have no bloody idea. ive been lucky enough to fish a lot of lakes from BC, to manitoba to ontario all the way down to alabama...The best fishing is always where the least people are. Theres a balance for sure though, colder water means slower growing fish...there is definitely a sweet spot though.
