With the 401 closed at several points here in Quinte due to yet more tractor trailer accidents and pile ups of people who refuse to drive according to road conditions, and/or without proper tires... What is normally a 30min commute turned into a 2 hour commute involving back country roads and a bit of luck.... This stretch from cobourg to belleville is brutal..... One thing I have noticed, most of the trucks involved seem to be from Quebec, are their trucks not speed limited? As ours here in Ontario are? G

Looking at the pics my guess is this is a engineered trussed roof system with stick framed dormers.... Funny the dormer is still standing...I would be going back to the builder/building dept, asking for the stamped prints of the roof plan. you will know what engineer signed off on the plans and who was to be supplying the trusses. In a lot of cases the truss manufacturer supplies their own engineer. G.

Almost drove over one last night, scared the crap out of me to see this oversized cat on a windswept country road... As for nuisance critters, the rabbits have been reeking havoc, given the snow depth they are able to chew off the bark from the limbs of my apples trees, they are unable to chew it off the trunk of the trees but it seems they prefer the tender bark from the limbs.... I hope the trees will survive come spring. G

Welcome from just down the "bore01" from you. I live In Brighton and work in Belleville, I also drive to Kingston often to hit up Costco and to visit the best crappy tire I have ever been in.... I had no idea crappy tires had giant fish tanks at their gun counters until I visited the one in Kingston. It's a sweet location. If your ever in quinte and I am free send me a pm G.

As others have stated, I have never seen anyone ice fish with a flasher..... Gotta be difficult to jig with? G

Im really loving my US Navy Issue Gortex jacket.. I would reccomend to anyone looking for a waterproof jacket, seems to breathe well to boot! It is a great looking jacket that alot of folks have commented on. G

Got out yesterday for a few hours with my son and some close friends. We hit up pres'quile bay as it is close to home and I was unsure how long Liam would last on the ice. This is Liam's first time ice fishing a and while the fishing was tough he had a blast! I should mention the ice is over two foot thick.... Needless to say we should have moved shallower but the thought of drilling more holes nixed that idea, especially with an 8" manual auger that could use new blades... We had a blast anyways and now my son is in love with ice fishing I think the smile says it all. G.

No ice is safe ice.... That said quinte is huge and while one place may be safe another may not be. Perhaps if u were more specific on the location we may be able to give u more of a specific answer.

Will, u are welcome here anytime. I have miles of trails at my door step and a thousand more within a 30 minute drive.... You can easily hit the land o' lakes, peterbough, kaladar, quinte etc all within 30-45min a ton of sledding trails and fishing! Up to you, but you know my door is always open. I would happy to host. G
