Not much of a help on 'shroom hunting, but thought I'd welcome you to Quinte West. I love it here! Where abouts in QW did you purchase? G. -

Watched Spencer's confidential last night, good flick -
Well we are being told we are essential. I work for a large multinational manufacturer... our plant does not make masks, gowns or gloves. 1000+ factory workers.... this is definitely going to get worse, before it gets better. But we are told to practice social distancing which is near to impossible! Are they protecting us? Or their bottom line?

Probably wont experience the hard shifting with that 10speed, it came out just after i purchased my truck Z71 kodiak edition... my understanding is now that the 10speed is out the 8speed is considered a relic and updates for it may not happen... i bought this GM because of the price (i saved an additional 5k because of where i work) and 0% interest. Fingers crossed they do release a fix for it. If not I'll purchase a tuner AFTER the factory warranty runs out. G.

Im glad you made it home Cliff, better to deal with this at home and not in another country. I was supposed to be on a flight to Cuba on Friday. I cancelled. Its not worth the risks involved. G.

Nice truck, I own one too, a 2018 good little truck, a couple of mentions after owning one for 2 years. What tranny did it come with? My 8 speed seems to shift hard from 1st to 2nd occasionally. Dealership says its normal... and to wait and see if there is a software update for the truck... Also terrible wind noise on the front windows, coming from the seals around the side mirrors... this is a known "soft" issue with these trucks. Other then that shes been a good truck and hauls my 38' camper with ease. Good luck with your new "baby" and congrats on the upcoming nuptials. G.

Here my new cottage....only 2 weeks old And here is the reason why... Should be a lot of good times

I also have a cam-am 850 max xt, cant say enough good things about it.. most of the folks i see on the trails around here also have can-ams.

I tend to fill up on the rez here typically 10-20 cents a litre cheaper then off the rez... still no justification for these increases... its ludicrous

Hey thats awesome! And also my retirement dream! Spring, summer and fall in Canada and winter in the southern states! Only 20+ years of work left......... We recently bought a travel trailer so we are able to get away from home during our downtime (currently replying from the trailers kitchen ) congrats Cliff!! Your gonna love it!

This decision doesn't surprise me at all based on seeing the water levels almost daily during my drive to work.... not sure how much more the system can take without serious flooding as a result... i would say its at or very close to its max capacity

Thank you! I'll be sure to hit it up for bass once the season opens... its about hour from me, so not far at all. It'll be a sport once my son gets a rod in his hand.... mostly me dodging his lure! He's 4 and this will be his first real time out fishing.... hoping my daughter catches the bug as well! Thanks for the info! We won't be targeting bass, but will be once the season opens hopefully for a couple of days... we will be staying at Bear Ridge, supposed to be an awesome park, really looking forward to it! Thanks guys for the input, I'll let you know how we make out

A bit more then 2 hours... but well equipped cottages and very fairly priced, beach, park area, pet friendly and boat rentals as well... decent fishing too boot. Google, hyatts glenhaven resort. Rob and Louise are top notch hosts. So much so infact we are thinking of putting our trailer there for the next couple of seasons!

Thank you my friend, heading up for a week over may 2-4 weekend... gonna bring up the canoe, sounds like i can keep the kids busy with panfish and try for some toothy critters when evening falls.

Thanks Dave, i have never targeted lakers so that may be an option, I understand there are pickeral in the lake as well.... happen to know if it has decent numbers? Looking to perhaps have fish fry one of the nights i am there. Thanks again

Just purchased a new travel trailer and have plans to hit up wollaston lake with it to work out any bugs that may arise... hows the fishing on this lake? Can i expect it to be productive? Thanks in advance!

Is gas/propane an option Cliff? By far superior in mho, and they function during power outages as well... I'd go gas if possible

Kingston area eastern Lake Ontario salmon/trout fishing
Gerritt replied to RoyL's topic in General Discussion
Very interesting thread guys! Having moved to eastern ontario several years ago I've yet to be out on the big lake since i moved, i have all the gear just collecting dust :( are you guys looking at running down riggers, dipseys or flatlining? If there is ever a eastern Ontario meet and greet or a fishing gathering please post it here, would be great to meet some new members! Im located in Stirling on Oak Lake, and would be willing to drive a couple of hours from here if one is organized. Im following this thread with interest. G. -
Cant add more then whats been suggested here. Propane or oil is typically what you see installed in rural homes, and they are more costly to operate then natural gas based on fuel costs, so if your used to natural gas pricing you will be in for a bit of sticker shock.... alot of folks (including myself) go on a budget plan so you have a fixed monthly bill against your fuel deliveries.. Make sure you get the flow rate for your well from the previous owner and get the water tested every 3 months through your local health unit, this is a free service. Another consideration is the availability of high speed internet, many in rural areas have poor access to decent high speed and have to rely on companies like explorenet etc... this is costly and generally not well liked by their customers...but they have little to no choice in many areas. Just some thoughts in my experience of living rural most of my life G.
