  1. One of these, no batteries required. One in each tackle box. http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=702057&type=product&WT.ac=YMAL-702057&WT.z_pg_ref=prd2248178
  2. I swear the grass has grown an inch and the colour dark green.
  3. Ya, couple of light flickers, couple of good bursts of wind, little lightning and a dump of rain, pretty much the end. And the temps took a good drop too.
  4. Looks like we may be in for a bit of nasty stuff, tie down the lawnchairs and anything else you want to hang onto.
  5. Nice to see people that stop and help out others.
  6. Ah, I thought you were talking the electrical kind.
  7. I'm sure there are some that have tried, something like bathtub races.
  8. No, I thought they were a bit of a gimmick too, but no more lobster face on the calm sunny days. They also keep out the damm fuzzy flies while on the water.
  9. Don't know if anyone has any interest, the price is right. I use them in the boat to prevent lobster face and while riding ATV to stop eating dirt. https://safishing.com/lp/buy-1-get-4-free-face-shields-go-dom5/?gclid=CLTE8ZrewNMCFQQoaQodmE8G3Q
  10. $44 US, someone out there must think we were all born at night...last night and pull up our pants with vise grips. After 21 years I've still got the $1.99 version, insert turn and flip over the lever.
  11. Another point, sometimes the water muffs don't seal tight enough on the intake to get the water up to the impeller. If you have a clean garbage can, (or put a plastic bag in dirty garbage can) and fill it above the cavitation plate as a minimum. There's no way it will auto shut off after five seconds from lack of cooling on start up.
  12. From what the radiologist/ultrasound person could see, they suspect some tearing. On the front middle of the thigh there is a bit of knotting and can get very tight, recliner/bed is about the most comfortable to keep it relaxed. Will do what doc says. No, no heat or sure. One thing is certain, you sure have to learn fast how to make things happen, getting socks on can be a bit of a hilarious manouevre, hauling garbage down the driveway today, use my cane. Good thing I drive an auto now, I can just imagine trying to row a 6 speed with a bum leg.
  13. Well I pulled a boner last 8th of April, without going into the silly details, I launched myself to get out of someones way with great vigour. Instant agony, thought maybe it was just a charlie horse. After a week of nursing it and no improvement I went to emerg, after an ultrasound looks like I tore some muscles in the front of my thigh. I have to go back for more xrays next week hopefully the swelling will subside some. Doc mentioned possible surgery. Has anyone gone through this before? I'm getting tired of sitting and sleeping and the leg is on fire.
  14. Hint for next time, take one of the old cones if they're both the same size for inner and outer and spend 5 minutes at a bench grinder. Gently grind down the outer circumference so that it was just fall into the hub. You have a perfectly sized cone driver.
  15. Speaking of eggs, over the last year I tend to find the big company eggs taste "fishy", wonder if they're feeding them ground up fish guts. Buy some free runners at the local farmer, now they taste like eggs.
  16. Costco still at 1.04 a little while ago, the line up was out of the parking lot. Couple other stations in Barrie were at 1.06.
  17. Go see Canada Bearing or other bearing shop to get quality bearings.
  18. Contrary to popular belief, not all are "standard", there are 1inch and 1 1/16th axles, some also have a larger inner bearing set. Take the hub off, take out the seal and see the numbers etched onto the edge of the cones. Also do yourself a favour and get double lipped seals, far more efficient at keeping the water out and grease in.
  19. All depends how you take care of them. My 96 Honda 25 had some gaskets replaced 3 years ago, when the mechanic looked inside he was amazed at the complete lack of wear on moving components, valve train etc. Synthetic oil was the answer, In almost 20 years of running valves had never been adjusted or required it. Compression was still at 100%. My son has had it for 3 years and put a pile of miles on it and still fine.
  20. Not the motor, the boats not made for that weight.
  21. Ya they have a pretty good reputation http://www.polaris.com/en-ca/company/article/polaris-recalls-sportsman-850-and-1000-atv-due-to-burn-and-fire-hazards
  22. No smoke from an Etec, probably cuz it's not running
