  1. LOL, you're right of course, but we could soon overload his yak with choices! Underspins!
  2. A short shank treble the same size may help? Possibly the mechanics of your cast? Mono will sink, I used big chubs and shiners under a slip float, one of the issues was figuring out if I had all the slack line in from them wandering around, and I was usually using 14 - 20 # mono. If you need your line to float? that stuff will work on it too.
  3. " Since tubes mimick a craw I was thinking the Texas rig craw would cover tubes but is weedless. Also worried about tubes killing my line with twist. Do you have any issues with twist? " Never did, when fishing open water I used a tube insert jig head, around weeds and wood I would texas rig them, and if you want to you can carolina rig them. On Lake Erie here weed beds were very limited, mostly in shallower back bays which usually only saw any kind of a smallie bite during the spawn. Open water I was usually fishing 15 - 25 feet for them, no weeds, just rocks. Just my opinion but a white tube with silver glitter may also imitate a bait fish? and who knows what else? I have also caught steelhead, carp, and walleye on them.
  4. Depending on the water depth and structure a tube might be #1.
  5. Pssst, you need a 250hp motor to catch fish! LOL
  6. I haven't worn more than flip flops in about 8 years and the last time I wore those was about 3 years ago for a trip to the emergency room. LOL, never did crocs, velcro fasten track shoe from wally world or flip flops, work shoes or boots when I was working.
  7. Just my experience with trucking companies, and I worked for a number of them over a 30+ year driving career, they didn't normally have anything on them that the law or a union contract didn't require. I seem to recall seeing that that company had a total of two trucks? They were probably lucky to keep tires on them?
  8. LOL, no press 1 for English feature? tyranny!
  9. A better question may be, how many of you people have caught a 100 - 300 pound catfish? Just guessing at very low numbers?
  10. A 150 hp in most if not all cases will run away from a 115 hp, if your boat is rated for a 150 a 115 seems a bit under powered? better to solve than now than later?
  11. Great pics and report, it's been stupid hot here too, I was glad to see some cooler weather!
  12. OK, that explains that, my boat was older and I haven't really kept up with the newer technologies, water did seem to be coming out of a livewell a lot stronger than it did out of mine. Hope it is an easy fix for you.
  13. Great! Looks like you had a fun outing! A couple of questions, how is the guiding going for you? I noticed water being pumped out on the right side of the boat a few times, does your livewell pump it out? or bilge pump cycling?
  14. Ah, the price of fame!
  15. Pump, I believe Reelfoot Lake on the Tennessee - Missouri border has them too, it was formed by an earthquake on the New Madrid fault an the Mississippi river flowed the wrong way? LOL, always viewed the main lake area of Erie as a watery desert with fish and the same boring scenery forever.
  16. Great pics and report, PAB almost always produced produced some decent largies for me, and some of my friends get them 5+ pounds on the French River.
  17. http://alabamarig.com/regulations/four-hooks-legal-fishing-the-alabama-rig-in-ontario/ As I understand the law you can use 4 hooks on an a rig in Ontario, here in Ohio we are limited to 3. I have never used one, but just my thinking is that you are trying to imitate a school of baitfish, I view getting the fish to strike and landing it as more important than hooking multiple fish at a time. Doing battle with one 5 pound smallie at a time was enough of a challenge for me, I couldn't really picture having more than one on the line at a time as usually having a good outcome. Just my experience Bill, is the ones here on Lake Erie will school or hunt in a pack all the open water season. I can't really think of a more suitable explanation for catching 20 - 40 off a spot not much bigger than your average boat in a half hour? I have gone hours either not catching any or just a scattered fish here and there, and then suddenly the bite is on!
  18. Good info on setting up and using a rigs.
  19. Heat index temps are predicted to be 100+ degrees here for the next few days, it maybe a better time to swim with the fishes than to sit in a boat and try to catch them!
  20. LOL, I feel your pain! It cost me a lot of money for my daughter to learn how to castrate a hog! Ya the book says the cold will kill them.
  21. One of my daughters had posted this on her facebook page.
  22. Great! LOL, kids devour more food and snacks than those little raccoons! Sleeping beauties! mine had the ability to fall asleep before we would get to the corner of my road, and faster on the way home! Did you get the " are we there yet " sound much?
  23. LOL, I think Bill Dance ran into one of those in his bloopers videos?
  24. http://www.motorguide.com/support/dealers/locator I'm not seeing a lot of options for you as far as repairs.
