  1. If you're into that kind of thing there is this. https://www.nationalmuseum.that other site.mil/Visit/Museum-Exhibits/
  2. " LM can be found inside of brignall banks you won’t find em west of it. " I will agree with that, any you do catch are flukes, don't depend or intend to catch them. Also what Musky said about the shallow spot in the narrows in the river. Once you get past the narrows the river opens up and looks like a lake, there was even a couple of areas that looked good for l/m bass, that was basically a waste of time, in 25 years or so we might have caught 2 smallish ones. The river ( lake portion ) has some pretty deep water in it, and I did catch summer walleye there, but spring and fall were better, no spring experience myself, family and friends, never there before the bass opener myself.
  3. An interesting article Boyd, that helped to explain the Cleveland connection to that area, I was always surprised at the number of Ohio license plates we saw in the area there. We started going there around 1964 and I continued going there until 1989, situations change and I didn't have the time and family responsibilities, I would still be going there if I could, it is a beautiful area, with a lot of water to fish. Them dang fish can be tricky! Water, weather can change and the darn things can move! Bad weather can make it uncomfortable for the fisherman to go out, but we spent a week one September cold and wet most of the week and had some good fishing. There are like 1001 areas there capable of holding smallies, Pentecost Island is just one, and they may not be there 24/7, any rocky area, point, transition area might hold them, and there are so many. Even back in the old days you could look like a hero one day and the fish moved the next, a top water bite disappeared, and some days live bait seemed to be the only thing that worked. That channel north of Barclay's Island? We assigned kids name to some, we called it the Christopher. It has - had a very rocky area towards the far end, we basically avoided using it, the other Kitslano, we called it the Winona channel is much safer. There is a reef going across to the river and changing water levels and wind could make it tricky to see at times.
  4. Actually it isn't that far of a run from Rock Pines to the river, I used to do it as a kid in a 14 aluminum with a 5 hp motor, of course it's a lot faster with a bigger motor. LOL, fish for bass, my PB walleye came from there slow rolling a spinnerbait in September. It's been a very long time since I have been there, close to 30 years, no idea what the water levels are like, but cover some water, lot of areas there that will hold fish.
  5. Depending on where they are coming from I am on the flight path for Cleveland Hopkins, Burke Lakefront, and Akron - Canton airports. With the air show at Burke Lakefront we get some of those planes wandering the skies here. Planes are cool, but I have never had any interest or desire to get in the air.
  6. It's pretty amazing that some of those old birds are still flying.
  7. LOL, Akri, it must be tough to cull a 6 pound smallie?
  8. http://www.luckylures.nl/esox_muskellunge_record.php There is a picture of it on that link.
  9. LOL, I am like the potted plant in the house, I can't do much else but sit in a chair and explore!
  10. https://www.flwfishing.com/results 44 with a 20+ weigh in on an Erie tournament this year, day 2 canceled due to the weather, getting 2 or 3 consecutive decent weather days on Erie can be very tough and trying to plan for them a year or so in advance even tougher? G/bay has some great fishing and it would be cool to see a major bass tournament there, but a lot more rocks, and having 100+ boats flying around at high speed in areas they are not totally familiar with might not be a good thing? Then you have the where question, a lot more difficult to set up an event in areas with a some what limited population? Facilities capable of hosting an event that size? J/S not disagreeing.
  11. http://www.baitnet.com/search.php?action=statelist&state=ON&todisplay=25&letter=C&letter=A I don't know if this may help?
  12. Just another view on that, if you are going to invest in a quality rain suit? Designate it as such, you can get a multi season jacket much cheaper.
  13. Nice job Steve, LOL a 3 day on Erie would be tough, too easy to get blown off that lake.
  14. Greg, never had anything but cable steer models and a tiller model, no idea what the others even look like, and it's been a long time since I have even seen one.
  15. Since I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about I can only suggest this as a possibility? https://www.ebay.com/b/Minn-Kota-Trolling-Motor-Components/124105/bn_580037
  16. https://www.cabelas.com/product/Owner-reg-Weighted-TwistLOCK-Hook-with-Centering-Pin-Spring/744447.uts Never fished the lake, but you could try something like that and swimming a keitech, berkley grass pig, worm or lizard.
  17. LOL Sinker ya that makes a difference. My boat came with a 36# thrust motor when I bought it new in 87, it was adequate, a 55# with the 54 inch shaft should be good?
  18. Hack, no idea what that particular one looks like, but if you look on youtube there are a lot of diagnostic and repair videos for electric trolling motors.
  19. Here is something else to consider, after looking at the pictures of that boat, my rear splash guard was deeper. I could have my fuel tank end to the stern and it was completely under it, there was a snap on cover for the opening. I was able to fit the fuel tank and 3 batteries in the rear of the boat, although that boat looks lighter? A couple of 12 volt batteries mounted up front for an 80 pound thrust motor might be an issue? My boat came with the trolling motor battery mounted up front, my livewell was also up front, it was under powered to begin with and having the battery up front with the live well full made performance more of an issue.
  20. Just me Spanky but I would be leery of a 45 inch shaft on a deeper boat, the bow is a lot higher off the water than a jon boat or bass boat to begin with. It seems a shame the don't offer the 80 in a 54 inch shaft.
  21. Congrats Terry! enjoy it!
  22. Great pictures and report Brian! Glad to see you got out again!
  23. jimmer, an mtd or cub dealer may have a cross reference book that shows what parts from what brands of mtd tractors are interchangeable? mtd is - was based in my area they also made huskie brands sold by tsc and others too? Putting a bigger deck on a tractor not powered for it might not do you any favors?
  24. I had a 17 foot Smokercraft ( 16' 8" ) that was also had a 73 inch beam, side console though. A 55 pound thrust cable steer bow mount, 12 volt, with as I recall a 52 inch shaft length. Under most conditions it was adequate, but high side boats do have issues with the wind, and the waters you fish are also a factor. On Lake Erie my electric motor would frequently be spinning in the breeze with the wave action and wakes from passing boats. If I was going to do it again? A 60 inch 24v.
