  1. https://www.mccormick.com/zatarains/products/dinner-and-side-mixes/rice-mixes-and-side-dishes Some of Zatarain's other products are pretty darned good too!
  2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_giant_hornet https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/unfounded_fear_of_cicada_killers If you look at their scientific name there appears to be a difference? These soon could be coming to a border near you? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_marmorated_stink_bug https://whyy.org/articles/invasive-insect-spreads-beyond-pennsylvania-farms-orchids-backyards/
  3. I would, better to replace them now than have a problem on the water? My boat had removable tanks, but like 12 years or near that one hose sprang a leak.
  4. Spots on those boats to place flotation look limited to me, and would it required a certified test to confirm the changes aren't unsafe? Just assuming the mfg is aware of storage shortages and would have done that if possible?
  5. What the media refers to as an assault rifle in a lot or most of the cases, is a generic name for look alike weapons. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/mossberg-715t-flat-top-semi-auto-rimfire-rifle-with-red-dot-sight The look a likes? .22 caliber rim fire, but not actually an assault rifle?
  6. https://www.canpages.ca/page/ON/pointe-au-baril-station/e-r-tackle-bait/4095295 you might give this place a call and see what they carry for bait and if they are open for business? I don't know if it is the same place as I dealt with years ago but the old place had a stock tank of leeches.
  7. Can you go 500 miles in Europe without crossing a border or few? The standard of living, trade, and relative peace make travel there much more likely than in Africa or South America? How much of the population of either continent can afford a trip to an exotic? land like China? If the alleged richest country on earth? can't seem to deal with it? it's no wonder it may pose an even greater threat to 3rd world nations? Both parents of one of my sons closest friend tested positive the other day, they work as a team ( truck drivers ) so I figured there might be a higher risk for them, but the thinking is that they got it from a family friend that stopped by for a visit before he had signs of illness. Hope all goes well for them, they are in the age group, and with underlying conditions that may pose problems.
  8. This is sort of uncharted territory, the last time we had an epidemic like this was 1918? and the world at that time was a very different place? We can't stay shut down forever, but the risks of reopening do need serious consideration. Florida's biggest source of income is probably tourism, I can only imagine being a fly on the wall and listening to some of the calls that governor and others are getting? Will round 2 follow a reopening? Some of the rhetoric about tyranny is interesting? It wasn't called that when the government drafted you for military service and sent you to another country to fight? What would they do now?
  9. LOL, a lot of that old Detroit iron has returned to nature, what is left is pricey! You could get a nice ride for 3 = 4 K back in the day.
  10. https://www.cabelas.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=1307335&type=product&WT.z_btnclk=YMAL-1307335&WT.z_pg_ref=prd702344 https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/mister-twister-sassy-shad 1/8th ounce with a 2 1/2 sassy shad, a lot of different species will hit them though, and the toothy ones bite them off a lot.
  11. Never did anything like this but the acid based stuff seems a hassle?
  12. Scott, at one time like 87 - 88 E&E bait on hwy 69 had a picture of a walleye that was said to be 16#, it looked big enough to be believed to me, from the river. Dad had this thing for opening day of walleye season there, and there were a couple of guys from southern Ohio that were usually there when he was, they seemed to regularly get 10+ eyes.
  13. Too bad you can't prepay for a 1000 gallons of gas?
  14. Scott, no idea on camp's pb's, saw some big fish people had caught in the camp freezers and in pictures just no idea if they were bests. A long term fishing buddy showed me an article in one of the fishing magazines here that basically brought up the same debate for Lake Erie smallies, the writer had the opinion that 5 pound smallies were rarely seen before the gobies, our reaction was where had this guy been fishing for them, and my buddy knew the writer. We considered it a bad day if we didn't have at least 1 that went 5 pounds, and multiple 5s were fairly common, my best day back when the limit was 8 was 8 that I was pretty confident would have been around 40 pounds. That said? my biggest was 22 inch on Erie, just guessing in the 6 pound range. My uncle got a 10+ pound walleye at the pointe, my dad got a 46 inch pike that was like 23 pounds, but some of the fish we saw from other people there were a good deal bigger some we hooked and lost also. Bass too, some of the smallies and largemouth were 5 pound + fish, maybe not a lot over but a good fish. One of my buddies got a 31 inch walleye there, a sick or old fish I guess, it looked awful thin and only went 9#, we had one cruise under the boat that dwarfed it. Gobies? another food source that happens to like where the smallies like so the odds are less energy is used eating them? We hooked some very big fish there, and lost most of them! LOL
  15. Me and 3 brothers, our 5 birthday present for all of us was an overnight fishing trip with dad for spring crappie, and all of us ran out of room for them the first day. My oldest brother never got the fishing bug and for my youngest it was an interest that came and went, for me and Mike it was a life long passion. Dad had friends that were very good fishermen, so we got a good start with the basics, and it was a different sort of deal hanging out and learning from depression era fishermen, catching fish for them at some point in their lives made the difference between eating and going hungry. An educational exercise? the competition, and the outdoors? All were factors to some extent for me, just never depended on fish for a meal. I grew up in the inner city maybe a mile from where my dad did, fishing was a way to get out of the city and explore. I had a lot of offers to go a lot of places to fish, just never felt a need to go to very distant places, it could be challenging enough to catch what was available closer.
  16. Far and away my best days of crappie fishing were with an Emerald shiner ( live bait ). On a spreader with 2 hooks ( check your laws ) or even a single hook under a float. Just the fastest, most consistent way I have ever caught them.
  17. I think my son told me he filled up his truck yesterday, 97 cents a gallon.
  18. A very good movie! Not really a fan of newer movies myself, old classic just my preference.
  19. John, are you using a nicotine patch? They had them on me when I was in the hospital and nursing home and I never really had the urge to smoke, of course though smoking wasn't allowed on the grounds of either and I understood the rules. I have managed to start again, but about 1/3 of my prior use.
  20. If this youtube video is any help, it shows a relocation. Those ones you have sound very young if they are hairless, there are more videos on youtube. LOL Help squirrels or go nuts? (4) Flying Squirrel Nest 5 babies relocation mother returns - YouTube
  21. " Also a 10 cent spike in the price of gas, but only fri-sun and only the 2 stations that are in town " That is pretty much a standard practice everywhere these days? Friday was the traditional payday here for a lot of years, now with most doing direct deposit it is still fill up time for travel, yard maintenance and getting ready for the next week of work.
  22. It seems like you would really want to be sure what is going to happen if you do? It spread and got out of control once, it could happen again without a vaccine or more precautions?
  23. As I recall don't both have the largest populations of the provinces? More people, more contact?
  24. They draw a lot of our inland lakes down in the fall for flood control in the spring, our DNR did that in those lakes with christmas trees and wood pallets, they also attract bass. The fall drawdown was a good time to mark new spots.
