I fished Port Bolster today. No issues with the ice. Slight bit of slush on the top in the morning, but temp seemed to drop a bit during the day and it was crusting back up. Solid 8" everywhere we went today. Cheers Craig

Awesome first report. Getting your son started early..nice Cheers Craig

Ryan I first saw guys using the 4" on Long Point Bay and thought it was incredible, however there is like you say always the incidental Bass, Pike or Trout to deal with. I managed to get a 12lb rainbow through the ice on the Grand last year through a 6" hole, so that would be my bet. Cheers Craig

Hey Skud I got out in the same area yesterday afternoon around 1:00pm. Fished 14 ft of water. Bite was slow at the start but really picked up around 3:00, unfortunately so did the wind. Able to keep about 20 nice fish for a snack. Great to be out there Cheers Craig

You guys are alright That was fun, I'd sip a rum with any of ya. Cheers Craig

If they would have played the first two periods like the third, I think it would have been a much different game. Lots of grit to come back. I agree the shoot-out is not the way to settle a game like that. Kudos to the Americans....they played a strong game. Cheers Craig

Awesome report...congrats on that Pike. Cheers Craig

There are a couple of hut operators in the St. Williams area who would be the best for ice conditions. I know a couple of people have ventured out of Old Cut in the last few days. Rotten Ronnies bait shop in long point would also have ice details if you give them a shout. Cheers Craig -
That suit picture would make a great new avatar for you Dawg Cheers Craig PS...good to see ya back!

Ice Report Lower Grand Fishmasters Dec 29/09
Sandbag replied to Fishmaster's topic in General Discussion
I was out on the ice at Fishmasters last Tuesday (Dec 22nd). There were still a couple of open spots at that time but they seem to have closed up now judging by Steve's latest picture. The flow wasn't as strong as I have seen it in the past, however there is still quite a bit of current in the area. PS...I was skunked last Tuesday. Hopefully going to give it a shot again on Friday, the time will depend on how New years Eve goes! Cheers Craig -
Nice suit.... Does it come in a men's....Jk GCD Looks great Cheers Craig

I was out for a few hours on Tuesday afternoon. Unfortunately no fish for me. There were about 15 guys out there altogether. If you are going, stop in at Fishmasters, Steve will tell you which areas to stay clear of. There were still a couple of open spots on Tuesday. Cheers Craig

Christmas ideas for the family? NF
Sandbag replied to The Urban Fisherman's topic in General Discussion
A couple of years ago, my daughter had a teacher that was very involved in The Nelson Mandella foundation (a foundation for children in Africa). Instead of buying her teacher a Christmas gift, we made a donation to the foundation in her teacher's name. Since that time, my daughter (now 6) saves her money as well as accepts donations from family, friends etc and each year makes a donation to what she calls "her friends in Africa" She seems to have embraced the idea of giving to those less fortunate than her at Christmas. It has been a little embarassing at times when we have house guests and she walks around with her lunch box with a sign on it "Donations for the kids in Africa". But it makes the old man pretty proud at the same time. Merry Christmas to you and your family Ryan. And to everyone else at OFC as well. Cheers Craig -
The best Christmas movie of all time is: Miracle on 34th Street The best Christmas show is: The Grinch that stole Christmas (original) Favorite Christmas tune: White Christmas Kids concerts?: You bet, wouldn't miss it No church or carols sing, however have done both in the past. I do decorate my home, inside and out. I try to wish everyone that acknowledges me in the weeks beofre Christmas a merry Christmas. John..what I believe your post all boils down to is the magic in Christmas for kids. Thanks for the reminder, I'm going to try make it all the more special for my daughter this year.... I mean that Cheers Craig

this is crazy...are you friggen kidding me?
Sandbag replied to Gerritt's topic in General Discussion
I'll admit that at first glance, it does seem kind of stupid, but think about it this way for a minute. What if the officer(s) that had contact with these people had let them go along their merry way and they did step into the path of a car or even fell of their own and hurt (or worse) themselves. You can rest assured the first thing they or their family would be doing is suing the police because they had the opportunity to arrest them, drive them home and charge them etc. This would be followed closely by suing the bar that overserved them in the first place. Unfortunately we now live in a society where people won't/don't take responsibility for their own actions and force other people to do it for them Just another side to the coin and my .02 Cheers Craig -
Thanks for the thoughts guys...Rob C..no I didn't put a new belt on last year, however I have cleaned the clutches and put a brand new belt on for this year.
