  1. And while their in the fish'n store for the Suicks, they should pick up some big azz spinner baits too Roy
  2. Little dink pickeral can be pretty dumb too Wayne
  3. Yup, it's hard to keep those big pesky bass away from your baits sometimes.
  4. If your missing every big fish Darren, I'd suspect your using very dull hooks before I'd think about the rest of your gear. As for the PP, I'd stick with that.
  5. Sad news Will and very sorry to hear it. Condolances from one who knows how your feeling.
  6. Thanks Pete, that was hilarious and at least a couple names came to mind
  7. The West Arm muskies are very partial to black & orange Jer, both bucktails & spinnerbaits, and use the biggest ones you can.
  8. Shimano Compre matched up with a Tekota 600LC works well for me.
  9. Nice ride Brian and all the best in your new venture. Your a pretty sharp dood though and no doubt you'll do very well.
  10. Happy Belated B-Day Joey, hope it was a goodun !!
  11. Your gonna be very happy you went with the Line-X Dutch, it's an excellent product. When I was negotiating for my F-150 last year I had them throw it in as a freebie and am really impressed with it. I'm constantly hauling lumber, dirt, sod, patio stones, gravel, bricks and whatever else and there's not a mark on it. I just sweep it out, rinse it with the hose and it's like new again. Like you say, it's a cheap investment to protect the truck.
  12. If anyones interested in an inexpensive way of keeping track of the hours on your motor and you don't already have an hourmeter on your boat, you can pick up one of these from most boat dealers. It just velcro's to any convenient spot on your motor under the cowling Then run the wire back and wrap it around one of your spark plug wires. Makes a nice neat installation and is actually quite acurrate. I've checked it out several times before and after a long day of trolling and it's right on.
  13. I always considered myself one of the lucky ones cause even as a young boy I knew I only wanted 2 jobs. One was a sailor & the other was a fireman and I was fortunate to spend my life doing both. I signed up for the Navy the same day JFK was murdered and enjoyed it as much as I knew I would. I spent the next few years cruising the ocean between Trinidad & Norway and everywhere in between. When I completed my Navy hitch I returned home to Toronto and put my name in for the Fire Dept. Took nearly a year to get on but once I started it was the job of a lifetime and I spent more than 32 years there. It was a wonderful, rewarding life and I retired at 53 years old satisfied that I'd done exactly what I wanted to do and no man can ask for more than that.
  14. Well done, I watched it at 6:00 this morning and it was a really good episode. Alot of todays fishing shows could take a lesson from Lunkerville.
  15. Your fishing tales are always fantastic Mike and I'm already looking forward to reading this one. Good luck & have a great trip.
  16. Huge difference from last summer Kevin and hopefully the levels stay up....well maybe not quite over your docks See you guys in August !!
  17. You could also contact Mercury and they should give the proper info for your set-up. When I bought my Skeeter/Yamaha and wanted a stainless prop I called Yamaha and they came up with the perfect prop for my specific combo.
  18. Still without power here north of Peterboro and now Hydro is saying it'll probably be at least another 36 hours before they get us up & running again. Haven't heard what the problem is but it must be something major for it to be out this long and there's over 800 homes affected. Most of the homes on this road at least have generators running so things are pretty well normal for us and the crazy winds have finally subsided so folks can start getting the damage cleaned up.
  19. It's been blowing like crazy up this way since about 10:00 too Bruce. Trees & power lines are down everywhere and anything that's not fastened down securely is gone. There's even a large portable garage laying crumpled on my neighbors property that doesn't belong to him. I live on a dirt road that runs thru the woods and when I went into town this morning I had to stop and move 2 large trees that came down and blocked the road just so I could get out. We've been without power since 10:00 AM and we just talked to Hydro and their hoping to have it restored before midnight. I'm wired for a generator though and all the important stuff in the house is working fine so all is good here. Hope everyone stays safe until the big blow is over.
  20. Good to see you back John, it's been awhile.
  21. I use 80# PP for casting with 130# fluoro for leaders. For prop style baits I use 15" - 18" and for walk the dog, jerk or twitch baits I use 8"-9"
  22. Congrats Boss, looks like you guys had a fantastic night out there. Brings back great memories from years ago when myself, dad, brother and friends used to head to Lake Ontario and come home with a couple pails of smelt. We'd all head back to Dad's place for a huge late night/early morning feed of those tasty little treats !! Thanks for the fond memories
  23. My little buddy will be 15 in October and I've always done everything I could to give him the best life possible. Last month he needed some dental work, plus treatment for a bad cough. The bill came in at $1400 and I never even blinked when it came time to write the cheque and I'd have gladly payed twice that much to be sure he's healthy, happy and pain free. The absolute love and loyalty a dog gives throughout his life is worth much more than a few $$$$
  24. I agree, I always use the manufacturers recommended oil on all my new vehicles, outboards, lawn equipment or whatever while it's under warranty, infact I often continue with it after warranty too. Just my opinion though.
