  1. I think if people stopped worrying so much about who caught the biggest fish, they'd have more time to enjoy fishin'
  2. I had a seized drain screw a few years ago and got it loosened with a tool I borrowed from a friend that was like a spring loaded screwdriver. You put the driver bit in the screw slot then hit the other end with a hammer. It automatically twisted to the left when hit then the spring pushed it back out to be hit again. I'd worked for about 30 minutes trying to free this screw but one smack with this gizmo and it was loose. No idea what it was called but it sure was slick !!
  3. I've got a cabin booked on the West Arm for a couple weeks in August so I've been keeping my fingers crossed as well. Last year was definetely interesting up there.
  4. Once you get the screws out and the oil chagned, be sure to put new washers on the screws before you put them back in.
  5. I run stabilizer all the time in all my gear Cliff.
  6. You just need to start gettin up earlier Paul
  7. It was such a gorgeous day today that I decided to finally bring the boat outta the garage and putz around with it. I hooked up the water pressure gauge 1st then it was time to start the engine for the 1st time this year. I hooked up the motor muffs, primed the bulb a couple times and hit the key. Before the motor even made a complete revolution the 150 horses kicked in & the big girl was purring like a kitten. Gotta luv those Yamaha 4 strokes I spent an hour just puttering around with it then gave it a good wash stem to stern to get rid of the winter dust and now she's all set to go once the water softens up a bit. Can't wait for the 1st run up the lake !!
  8. Fantastic news Kelvin !!
  9. Beauties for sure Mike !!
  10. Condolances on the loss of you Mom.
  11. Excellent news Brian, congrats to the whole family !!
  12. Happy B-Day to the REAL boss around here !! All the best Monique !!
  13. I had a herniated disc repaired about 11 years ago Darren and hafta tell ya, I was nervous as hell going into it, infact even scared at the thought of the Doc cutting around my spine, but it turned out to be nothing compared to what I was expecting. I went home from the hospital on the 3rd day with the least amount of pain I'd felt in a year and within a couple weeks the pain was all just a bad memory. Your problems sound a bit more serious than mine were but good luck with whatever the Docs have to do and hopefully you'll come out of it all as well as I did.
  14. All the best pal, from both me & the Mrs.
  15. Atta Boy Pete, I knew you'd do well !!
  16. Paul, my son spent a year in Shanghai and then another year in Bejing as foreman for the iron workers for some buildings his company was putting up. He had mostly Chinese crews working for him and said they were some of the best guys he ever worked with. He also said China was one of nicest countries he ever worked in. He totally enjoyed every minute of his time there and was planning on going back again, but sadly that wasn't to be. Jim's best friend also worked there with him and married a Chinese lady and enjoyed the country so much he now lives there permanentely. Tell you daughter she can probably look forward to a very enjoyable time if they do go over there.
  17. It's a good idea Dax but I'm not gonna make the Odyssey this year. Gonna be the 1st one I've ever missed.
  18. shhhhhhhh
  19. I had a bunch of maple kitchen cabinet doors to sell and posted them in the OFC classifieds last week as I wanted to give OFNers 1st crack at them if there was any interest, which unfortunately there wasn't. I posted them on kijiji at 9:00 this morning and had 3 replies within 30 minutes. The 1st guy that replied showed up here at 1:30 with cash in hand for the full price and the deal was done and the doors were on their way to a new home. 4 1/2 hours from placing the add till the $$$$ changed hands is pretty good service in my books Now what am I gonna do with all this extra moolah ??
  20. And at my age Chris, there's ALOT of memories
  21. It's probably been around for so long and has reached 17 pages because so many guys are enjoying it, but that's just my guess. Never could understand why guys around here worry so much about what other people enjoy.
  22. Many will disagree with you Matt cause every Timmies I see has cars lined up around the block for the drive-thru. And for what it's worth, I'll take a large with double cream & an apple fritter....thank ya very much !!!!

    g2g

I didn't attend last years g2g at Lakair but I was there for the 6 previous years and it's always a great time. Like Art says though, it would be absolutely impossible to pick a date that would suit everybody and no matter when it was, there would be guys complaining that they can't make that time frame for one reason or another. There's still nearly 3 months before the g2g so that should give everybody that's interested a chance to set it up.
  24. Happy Birthday my friend and all the best to ya !!
  25. The Tekota 600 is an excellent reel and you'll be more than happy with it, but the line counter model makes life easier if you ever want to know precisely how far back everything is.
