  1. That picture right there tells the whole story Brian, your a lucky man my friend !!
  2. Thanks boyz, it actually looks even better in person when the sheen is more visible than in the picture.
  3. I opened up the staircase leading down to the family room. Then I wanted to cap it off with a nice piece of wood so I went to the local lumber store and picked out a really interesting length of hard maple. I could see a nice grain in it but when I stained it and added a couple coats of urathane the grain popped right out really became beautiful and adds alot to the staircase. Or am I the only one who finds this kinda stuff interesting ??
  4. The way the rain is coming down and the melting snow is coming up, I may just head out to the shop and build an arc
  5. The thing is Mike, everybody has an opinion on things and that's something we're all entitled to. A post comes up and folks say what's on their mind. Some guys agree with them and others disagree but that doesn't make one right and it doesn't make the other guy wrong either, it's just the way it is and is what keeps things interesting. If you don't like what some folks think, it's no reason to lock a thread. And just so you know, just because a so-called "pro" says something, doesn't necessarily mean it's right or wrong either.
  6. I don't get fired up Mike, I just say it like it is.
  7. I had a buck in the backyard about a week ago that was still carrying a large rack.
  8. It was brutal on Nippissing last summer, lets keep our fingers crossed for this year.
  9. Far too many details Bruce
  10. Very nice work there Bruce, you've developed quite a talent for bait making !!
  11. Excellent new Kelvin, really happy to hear that !!
  12. Seems to be a bunch of folks on this board who decide that if THEY don't like a topic, it should be locked up, or deleted or otherwise made so others can't express an opinion on the topic. Too many times lately somebody will actually post in a thread that THEY think it should be locked or deleted. For those of you that don't seem to know, and there appears to be quite a few, we have a very good team of moderators around here that do an excellent job of keeping this place running smoothly. If a topic gets outta hand, they'll decide when to lock it up or whatever else they deem necessary. Just because YOU don't like what's being said in a post, doesn't mean I don't like it and I may just like to express my 2 cents worth. If YOU don't like a post, STOP READING IT. Contact your local mod and let him decide. Course, that's just my opinion and some of you may want it locked up
  13. Absolutely wonderful news Ryan and congratulations to your entire family on the arrival of your gorgeous new daughter.
  14. Happy Belated to you my friend, hope it was a goodun !!
  15. Nope, never saw it again Joe, it was a nice Curado & Shimano V-rod sacrificed to the fish gods.
  16. Funny you say that Joe.... I was daydreaming one day and dropped an expensive combo in 20' of water, so I clipped a Daredevil on another rod and started dragging it thru the weeds. Felt some weight and figured I'd got my gear back but when I reeled it in I'd caught a 5 pound pickeral. Probably the only pickeral ever caught on bottom with a big azz Daredevil
  17. The Golden Griddle was closed 2 years ago when we showed up Bruce, but we found a nice restaurant just across the QEW, but darned if I can remember the name of the place. That's where I was when you called me on my cell. I'll let you know for sure if I'm going this year but I'm pretty sure I will be.
  18. I'm using a pair of Walleye 1 deep cycles on my boat and their excellent batteries. My last boat had a Walleye 1 cranking battery that lasted 8 years.
  19. Happy March 1st for sure, I became a country bumkin exacatly 1 year ago today
  20. Excellent !!
  21. I've been to every show so far but not 100% sure if I'll be heading down this year or not Mike, but if I do I'll just grab a ticket at the door. For those of you who haven't been to an Odyssey but have an interest in musky fishing it's an excellent show and a great day. Normally a bunch of us meet up for breakfast before the show and then head in for the opening at 8:00
  22. I've never seen the show.
  23. When I was thinking about installing a radio in my boat last year I also asked about the fine for not having the license and heard everything from $25-$200 Some said not to worry about it but I decided the course could be a good thing and who knows, maybe I'd even learn something so I went ahead and took it and payed my money. At least now I can go ahead and use it whenever I want and don't have to be looking over my shoulder or worrying about getting checked by the police. It may never happen, but if it ever does, I'm good
  24. A lot of people work in dangerous jobs, but arguing who has the MOST dangerous job is like a couple little kids arguing over who has the toughest dad. And for what it's worth and for anybody that doesn't already know, my son was an iron worker for 20 years and worked the high steel all over the world and was killed when he fell from a building he was putting up. One of the most dangerous jobs around, but he NEVER talked about the dangers of his job with anybody except his co-workers & me. Give it up guys.
  25. Sounds like a great day for all involved and congrats on winning the Big Fish contest Joey
