  1. I use whatever premium mono I get on special for my spinning reels. 6lb for jigging and 8lb for general purpose. I just change out yearly in the late spring. My 2 pike rigs have 30lb braid on them as they are heavier action rods and I have seen some big fish come out of our honey hole.
  2. Good stuff!! Never did get a chance to go this past summer. This summer however....
  3. Cutie!!!
  4. Just get it repaired properly. Spend the 30 bucks. It's piece of mind. Doing it half arsed will end up stressing you while pulling it around because you will begin thinking about the bloody tire. Slime is meant to be a temporary fix. It is not meant to last for a couple of years.
  5. Also, don't store near any electric motors that are running. It wreaks havoc with the rubber.
  6. We are kicking around the idea of putting in a propane wood looking stove in the basement up at the cottage. Anything beats baseboards these days.....
  7. Witch Bay Camp or Smith's Camps.
  8. Beauties!!!
  9. You ready for the Zombie Apocalyse????
  10. RIP. Catch a biggun up there.
  11. If he can afford to pay for his mods on his truck, fine, it keeps him busy and hopefully out if trouble. Sounds like a good kid.
  12. Belts run quieter and smoother than timing chains. Get it done, yammies are typically interference engines.
  13. A lot of talent. RIP. Loved the Travelling Wilburys back in the day, even now.
  14. I'm so sorry for your loss Cliff. You have my sincerest condolences. Her struggles are over and she is at peace. Take care, your family here is ready to do anything you need.
  15. I was an advisor for almost 20 years, both investments and life insurance. My advice is this, buy monthly, don't worry about the market, and when everyone is losing their shirts, buy blue chip mutual funds aggressively. Stick to a balanced approach and don't get greedy. Pigs get slaughtered. I saw 2000 coming and also the 2009 meltdown. Everybody called me crazy. Those that listened still stay in touch even though I left the business over 3 years ago.
  16. Nice...... That kind of money is crazy. I'd definitely buy a nice spot on LOTW. A yearly fly in, a nice boat and truck to drag it around with and a reno at home and the cottage. A plaza or two to keep occupied when not fishing or golfing.
  17. Usually, for kids learning too water ski, there is an adult spotter holding the ski rope in his / her hands. The rope is not attached to the boat until they get the hang of it. This is because the first few times they go down, kids tend to have a death grip on the rope's handle and end up getting dragged. As soon as they go down, the spotter should drop the rope immediately. I've gotten close to 10 kids up on skis in the past 3-4 years, just this past year did I buy an actual ski rope to hook onto the boat.
  18. DO NOT go messing with an old septic that works fine. Smaller shed if need be but do not encroach on the bed. You mess it up and you will be in for a lot more trouble than it is worth. L
  19. Buy a wagon. You can haul Batteries and fuel with it. I had the same dilemma when I had my trailer in Honey Harbour. My kids ' wagon was a godsend.
  20. RIP. May his memory be eternal.
  21. San Diego Jam Knot.
  22. We just picked up a 4 burner Weber for the cottage. Very very nice BBQ. I have a 14 year old Broil King at home that is done. The base has rotted out completely. My brother has a 14 year old Weber that looks pretty much new. I have replaced the burner twice and the igniter gave up the ghost after a year or so. The Weber has everything working and nothing has been replaced. Napoleon's are nice but the burners go often on them. My dad has one that he bought 4-5 years ago. It needs a 3rd set of burners now. Go with Weber. Pay up front and you will not regret
  23. Check bearings yearly. More often if you trailer a lot.clean and repack. If done properly, you really should not have to ever replace the bearings. Anyways, have fun!!
  24. Nice!!!
