The door swings both ways. Our Admins here do a great job at keeping things civil. Keep up the good work! I know most people don't like Kevin O'Leary, I personally don't. 2 people lost their lives and 3 kids now have to grow up without a mother. We know very few facts here. The OPP have done their job and laid charges. BOTH drivers. As for lights being on or off, who knows?? Let the courts decide the outcome here.

They are decent clean hotels and customer service or the lack thereof makes or breaks the business. The island is on my bucket list.

Very nice. Priceless memories.

Great smallie fishing, great walleye fishing, great pike fishing, great muskie fishing.... LOTW has it all in spades. Have fun, I'm jealous, it's been 10 years since I was up there last.

Wow!! Beautiful!! Enjoy your trip Lew!!

The Thermacell cartridges ARE the same as those that go into the butane fueled curling irons. They are made by and labelled Thermacell so that is kinda cool. I have found that I ran out of fuel before running out of mats. A 2 pack of cartridges is 10 bucks at Can Tire or Amazon.

They definitely help. Used MIne for years while still fishing on Gbay. Still have it at the cottage and thanks for reminding me, I need to grab some pads and fuel cartridges for it.

They need to justify their being on the water. The OPP up north really burns my biscuit with things like this. A WARNING would suffice. They sometimes forget that they work for us, as do all public servants. I was issued a Bull ticket on 169 a few years ago. As the officer walked away, I told him that I would see him in Boss Hogg's court. He stiffened but went back to his cruiser. I was pulled over for supposedly speeding. I had the cruise on at 80, the limit. He then proceeded to give me a ticket for 'fail to obey sign'. I showed up in Bracebridge court a few months later with a 4 page statement. I met the Crown Attorney and let her know I was taking the ticket to trial and that I would be defending myself. After waiting 4 hours, my name was called, I stood and the Crown moved to withdraw the charge as there was insufficient evidence. I really wanted to read my statement but did not have the opportunity to do so. As I walked by the Officer, I looked him in the eye and said 'Have a nice day Sheriff Roscoe P Coltrane, eehuu eehuu eehuu' I ruined his day.

Gettin' there!! Big job. You'll probably never need to touch that again. It will be ready to tackle the water before you know it.

Very nice!! If anyone deserves this, it is you. Many an adventure await....

Try it first. If the signal is not great, go straight. Use the shortest cables you can get away with and buy good ones to preserve signal quality. My bro in law is the cable guy so he sees it all.

The Muskokas have settled down a bit, with this rain however.......

Lake Rosseau is up a couple inches in the past few days. The worst is not over for Lake Muskoka.

The dead trimmings from the vines. Sublime.

I brought one of those years back. They are cheap and if you get 2 years out of it, you are ahead of the game. They are pretty much disposable and for 1-3 people, perfect. I've got you beat though, when our Barbie at the cottage had a nice fire caused by spider webs in the Gas tunes, I took the heavy cast iron grates and put them over a couple concrete blocks and voila!! A nice BBQ pit that doubles as a small fire pit. You really can't beat charcoal, what is better but hard to get is dry grape vines. Bbq'ng on those is unbelievable.

The future of Diesel. Is there one? NF
bigbuck replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
Ditto on heavy equipment mechanic. If diesel does go the way of the dodo bird, there is still the whole hydraulic system in play. Bill, as for Nissan and the early CVTs, they had growing pains. Now, they are much much more reliable. Teething pains with new tech. -
If you stay with electric, the old style rings are the way to go. They don't look cool but they work great and are easy to replace. Otherwise, go with gas, you won't regret it. Besides, if the power goes out, you still have a source of heat to cook with.

2-3000lbs, you don't need a full size pickup. You can get by with a Toyota Tacoma or Nissan Frontier quite nicely. Both come in 4x4 and are more than capable enough. For the hairy snow, definitely invest in snow tires, they will be more helpful than awd or 4x4.

Good to hear Cliff. You were always more than ready and able to help anyone from our group here. What happened in Mexico sucks but unfortunately it is something that happens at resorts quite often. Glad to hear you enjoyed Myrtle Beach. If you ever want to go for smallies in Muskoka, let me know.

Lew, living in the north ish country, I'd wait till mid April. That said, you are retired so unless it's urgent, you don't have to leave the house.

I hope none of you boys have a boat stored at Muskoka Lakes Marine
bigbuck replied to BillM's topic in General Discussion
I will keep that in mind. Hopefully this year's expenses are only cosmetic. I need some cushions Re - upholstered. -

Gonna be lots of great used parts for sale.... Isn't that the Marina right in Rosseau by the beach?? We boat up there and spend the day. A short walk up the hill takes you to a great chip truck that's been there for years. The General Store is great too. -
Cdn Tire will always put the majority of power tools / and tools on sale for a great price at some point. Watch the ads leading up to any projects you might have. Have fun Lew!!

Since my illness a few years ago, I decided to take my foot off the Gas and change careers. I started off helping a neighbour shuttle cars around for his Used Car Lot, a couple hours a week quickly became 50 hrs a week (took 2 weeks). I was running it for him for a couple of years while he was taking care of another business, I spent some time with another Dealer Group working their Used Car Dept and have now landed at Woodchester Nissan. I am a new and Pre Owned Sales Rep and also work in the Business Office as a Finance Manager specializing in difficult Credit Situations. If you are looking for a New or Pre Owned Vehicles, please feel free to contact me. I can get 99% of people approved, regardless of their credit. FYI, those looking for an ABSOLUTE BEAST of a Pickup truck, look at the Nissan Titan XD. Cheers and Tight Lines!!
