  1. I agree with Lew. There's musky and then there is bait or dinner. Mind you though, a big pike is fun to tussle with.
  2. Nice fat cats!!!! You are a shadow of your former self. Good for you. Keep up the reports.
  3. Been a while since I've seen that many pickeral caught in one outing. Nice job Bernie!!!
  4. Check for vacuum leaks before you spend any more money. When its cold spray intake cleaner at all rubber fittings and around the throttle body and intake manifold. If it starts to idle faster when spraying an area, BINGO there is a leak. Its pretty old so I think you'll find quite a few. Get it squared away and keep her going.
  5. Nice. We will call you Bumble Bee!!!
  6. Don't tighten too much. Hitting a rock can make a tight prop nut a total bear to get off. Snug is good enough.
  7. What's happening with it?? Did you get it looked at?? Did they cut off your finger and if so I hope you took a video to share......... Let us know because I'm sure a few people have had it happen and would like to know what to look for.
  8. Kariba foods on Brimley north of Kingston rd in Scarborough, I'm pretty sure they do public cash and carry. Call before you head there to make sure.
  9. The 150 fish lure is the one you stock up on. I've got the Lucky Strike with the flattish bottom and it's been great. My musky net is a Stowmaster, that one, I love!! Go to a store with a huge selection and check out the various nets and pick one that has the most features that you like.
  10. Could be a dirty carb, could be plugs as well. Those old 2strokes didn't like to troll for long periods. Check the plugs, they could be fouled already. Run some seafoam thru it and then put the rest in the fuel tank. Another thing, check the pickup in the fuel tank, those old ones don't like ethanol.
  11. Good to hear it's sorted out!! Now finish your rigging and get that thing SLIMED!!!!
  12. Go see your doc. It's likely what Bill said, you have a piece still in there and it is probably infected. Get it looked at, in the meantime, soak it 3 times a day in some warm salted water to help draw any infection out.
  13. There is a French river depth chart available from navCanada, it covers from the west arm of Nippissing to well west of the Chaudiere dam. I'm not sure of the chart number but you could look it up.
  14. I use 50lb test fluro for pike. Never even close to a breakoff on one of my rigs and they have brought in some nice fatties over the past couple of years. San diego jam knot, use that and you are golden. Google it.
  15. Put one foot in front of the other each day and keep on trucking. Have a positive attitude, that will help you through some bad times, but having worked in sales, you know that.
  16. When you remove the old impeller, ALWAYS piece it together, any missing pieces will be in the motor somewhere and need to be removed befor going out again or you may run into a major (read: expensive) problem with a potential overheat. You may need to start taking it apart. Check on iboats.com, you should be able to get some help there.
  17. Nice chunky 'skis!! No wonder you young'uns head up there.
  18. I see your future clearly now.... You will be spending a lot of time and money on musky fishing. LOL

    SAIL

I was there in the afternoon and picked up a shirt and some odds and ends. Coleman fuel for 15pts off, I was in! Spoke to Charlie Wray for quite a while, he is a great guy and I know some guys don't like him cuz his show can sound like an infomercial but you have to remember, his sponsors are the ones paying his way. Angelo Viola and Pete Bowman were there too, I tried to find out who the new host was going to be but I couldn't get it out of them. Its a nice store and they have a decent selection of what I look for so they will get my business before BassPro does now. BPS is great but I'd rather support a Canadian company before I send my dough south of the border.
  20. 20hrs driving time give or take an hour or two. Easy to do with 2 guys, jumbo Timmies, and when in the states, jumbo Dunkins, and when back in Ontario jumbo Robins.
  21. Bill Sandy is a legendary musky guy up there. I'd do a day or two with a guide to learn the local patterns. Its costing how much to go up, you may as well drop another couple hundred each to get to REALLY enjoy it. I'm green with envy. I miss LOTW.
  22. It may have been shipped without oil but when the engine was assembled, all the moving surfaces would have been covered with assembly lube. What kind if sound do you think an engine would make until the oil finally makes it everywhere its supposed to go? Let the dealer know, and make sure you document it, just in case there is a real problem later.
  23. It's a brand new package, it should run correctly from the get go, if it does not, it's the dealer's problem. The owner should not have to spend on trim tabs on a brand new boat.
  24. We have a trailer at Bluewater Resort, it's in the little bay just beside Paragon Marina with the big cruisers and the town dock. Good for you for chiseling on the price, the real estate agents up there are notorious for overpricing. I'll see ya when I see ya up there in September, I'll keep an eye out for your boat.
