  1. There is a public launch straight down from village marina (just drive past village straight to the water). Then park at Joe's parking back beside the town centre. Bit of a walk but only cost $10 total. If you have a partner just get him to drive around to pick you up at the town dock. A little time consuming but saves money, did it for a couple years.
  2. Check fuel filters (should be a large and a small). Water fuel separator if u have one. Could also be something in fuel (bad fuel). Possibly Carbs could use a cleaning.
  3. I want to thank everyone for the well wishes! We are looking forward to this new adventure!
  4. I know the spot. You'll see me around all summer, still renting till September. My daughter likes going to the town centre or picnic island for poutine. i also head into north bay to fish. I'll look for your boat.
  5. Where is your place? Stop by the cottage when i take it over in September, look for my starcraft.
  6. let's just say that my offer was not reasonable and we haggled from there. Right circumstances, softening market and you can get a deal.
  7. My slip is at Nautilis. You would head out towards Royal Island and sweep around Mermaid. It looks straight at Beausoliel island, right down the slow zone to the outer channel (kinda on the corner of a mini bay).
  8. Gray and white with the gray boathouse that is in need of repair. I believe it is "Maclean" cottage. I run a black and white starcraft, black top. I'll look for your boat!
  9. I appreciate all the responses. After careful consideration and the proper inspections and some due diligence, we put an offer in on the cottage. After some back and forth it was accepted and we firmed up on friday. Close in september, super stoked! However lots of blood, sweat and tears on the horizon! Cheers
  10. Thanks for the input. Some great points. I have fished the area many times and it certainly is tough, that's why i think a guide could help to understand the water better (musky and pike). The cottage we are looking at has deep water off the dock and is close to the main channel, but out of the way enough (on mermaid island, never could afford a mainland drive to) to not drive us crazy, but we do enjoy the boat watching. Any other points are appreciated! Cheers
  11. Hi All, I am looking at buying a cottage in honey harbour, Gbay. We have rented in the outer islands for a while and love the area. Would like to hear opinions on the fishing and what you think of the area in general. Also any suggestions of guides I could hire to help learn the area better and techniques, if i decide to purchase. Cheers
  12. I have experienced ticks on our island for years. The best way has been a little plastic tick twister you can get from the vet for (at least if you use revolution) free. Never a problem taking them off with the dogs, kids or myself.
  13. I am going to try this technique, it is supposed to help with boat steering, especially in heavy winds. http://www.lindyfishingtackle.com/fishingresources/articles/fishingbaitandtackle/putasockinit On the advice of other members i purchased socks from cabelas, they have a sale going on them, because of the weight system which help with deployment.
  14. Thanks. I guess i should add that the main reason for the ACR is to have the capacity to charge two batteries while running, and save the crank from being drained while using my electronics. Other suggestions welcome.
  15. I am adding a battery to my boat for the house accessories. The other will be dedicated for starting. I was wondering if anyone is currently using either the blue seas ACR or the bep VSR and how they have performed for them, ease of installation and any other pros and cons. Thanks
