  1. The place is looking better, at the rate you are going, in 10 years you will have a luxury 3000sq ft mansion on the property....lol. with a real roof now, you should not have to worry too much about the snow load any longer.
  2. Kijiji. Someone will pay you more than 300 for it. You should be able to get 1000-1500 for it. Don't expect much more. The dealer does not want it, hence the low ball offer, by the time they do the paperwork send it to auction etc.... it is not worth it to them. Sell it privately, it may take some time but a grand in your pocket is worth it.
  3. Nutbars!!! Good on ya Cliff for yet again helping a fruend in need.
  4. I will second Bewdley Pizza and also Rhinos. On the weekendz, Rhinos is always busy, either the food is still good or the beer is really cold.
  5. If possible, take off the vent line and blow it out or just replace it. Fuel tanks need to vent to operate properly and it sounds like your's is not. Good luck gettin r done and get back out on the water.
  6. Cliff, you did what you could for him. I'm sorry for your loss.
  7. I see him with a spiderman or superman fishing rod in the near future!! Congratulations!!! Life is too short to live with regrets. Move forward and enjoy it.
  8. Good on you Cliff!! Some kid will learn a few things that he may be able to use in his life. Good luck on getting the 'honey do' list completed. Just when you think you have it licked she adds a bunch more on it.
  9. Finally got out for an evening fish with my wife yesterday at the cottage. It has been 2-3 years since just the 2 of us have gone out. She's a LOTW girl that knows how to jig, thats it. Down here we have to work for our fish. Anyways, drifting around my spot on X lake, she nailed 2 3lb+ smallies to my one and assorted smaller bass, perch and some decent worlds greatest sportfish. For those who know me, bass is bait but fishing for anything beats not fishing at all. It was nice to get out with her and have some fun, especially the back and forth banter. She can bust them with the best of the boys.
  10. Nice largie!!! That made the day!
  11. Check your fuel line and filter if applicable. Carbs aren't too bad, if you have the shop manual for your motor it is relatively straightforward. You might be able to find it in iboats.com forums. You can also post your question there. A lot of the regular posters there are marine mechanics and they are very helpful. A marina will get it going but how long will you have to wait, thats the problem now, they are busy.
  12. The only musky caught was by the eagle!! Love the shot of Lew fishing with Dianne. Typical scowl!!! Too bad about Lakair, I was planning on heading up yhere one of these days. Hopefully the health issues get resolved, time, faith, perserverance and some just plain old stubborness are needed. Glad you guys had fun.
  13. Northwest Ontario........ where my heart is.
  14. You are looking at over 1k for a custom mooring cover for a bowrider, depends on the size and the material. A cover from CT or PA will be a stop gap measure while you save up for a more permanent solution.
  15. That hurts. We had a wicked storm blow through here yesterday, but nothing like what you had. Hopefully it did not ruin much product. Good luck.
  16. Check the fuses and/or circuit breaker to see if there is power going from the battery to the unit. Hopefully it is something that is an easy fix.
  17. VIM. Works wonders on boat seats and vinyl.
  18. My prayers go out to him and his family. Dumb luck, that is all it was.
  19. There ya go!!! Getting the boat up on plane efficiently and having a good cruise speed/rpm is more imprtant than your top speed which for intensive purposes is the same. You will burn less fuel getting the boat to plane and will burn less while cruising. Now, get some slime all over her!!!
  20. Check out your local tire shops. Many of them carry trailer tires and will likely have some decent pricing. My guy here in Oakville carries Hercules trailer tires and has had no problems with them. They are much cheaper than Carlisle and Goodyear. He has not steered me wrong in several years and several sets of tires. The rim and rubber I bought for a spare for the boat was cheaper than just the rubber at Princess Auto.
  21. Change your impeller to start with. Check the fluid in the trim. Also, check out Iboats.com, the forums there are invaluable. You can download the Shop manual for your motor which can help to diagnose your problems. Also, you can post your issues and some of the regular contributors are oldtime marine mechanics who are incredible resources. PS. Do not run your boat again until you change the impeller. That should be done yearly on a boat that is run a lot. It is cheap insurance esp if you do it yourself.
  22. Pidge, Pisces Marine is the guy that used to be on 3rd Line, they moved. Be areful in dealing with them. Ifyou are only buying parts, thats ok, for service, thats another story. A buddy of mine had a few dealings with them and his last one involved the police and insurance fraud. I usually do not bash a business with one service issue, anyone can have a bad or off day but trying to scam a customer and his insurance company........
  23. Matt, the so called dual purpose batteries deep cycle/starting are not real deep cycle batteries. They would not be my first choice for a trolling motor battery. They do not work as well with the depletion and recharge cycles. Get the biggest one you can afford or fit in your boat. As mentioned above, Costco is a great place to buy them.
  24. 3 things, remember the key, the plug and tie a line from the boat to the do k ag the launch before you let the boat loose so it does not drift away. Make sure you get a chart of the area. Wherever you go, have a current chart, best advice I was ever given.
