  1. That is some seriously good fuel economy there. That us a vehicle worth consideration for thise who drive a lot.
  2. Lew, my condolences to you on the loss of your friend and also to his family. His battle is over and he can rest now.
  3. Nice!! I did not get a chance to wash any musky lures last year. Hopefully this year is different.
  4. Take it back into the shop that did the rack and ket loose with both barrels. A couple days is ridiculous. They will work with you on this. As for the truck, a temporary fix us just that, temporary. You have to love cars and trucks, when they work we love them, when they do not...... a smart man once said, life is a ...ch. It is, it kicks you in the nads. What you do after that kick defines you as a person. Get up, puke, dust yourself off and move on. Just keep moving and try to keep a smile on your face, it is easier than having a perma scowl.
  5. If I am not up north, I will try to swing by. The Odyssey is always a pretty good show.
  6. Towing capacity works off of a simple formula, 150 lb driver, half a tank of gas, anything over that both inside and on the trailer gets taken off the capacity. Also, just because it could does not mean that you should.
  7. The tax system is ridiculously complex. Tax lawyers, accountants and the bureaucracy have to justify their existence somehow.
  8. Lew has conducted a scientific study that proves that the mighty muskellunge is more dangerous than a hacksaw. Good to hear it was not too bad.
  9. The joys of hurrying up to wait. A Dr getting upset because he had to wait......what a morooon! I am quite sure he never ever made one of his patients ever have to wait. Thankfully the radiation has helped and hopefully the new meds will get things under wraps. Good luck Jen!!!!! There are A LOT of people who have never met you that are praying for you.
  10. The writing was on the wall when FS was bought out. Too many retailers with slimming margins because everything is becoming a commodity and disposable. My neighbours are all on their 2nd or 3rd flat screen tvs and I still have my old Panasonic 27 inch tube tvs that give me no issues.
  11. Check with the local marine supply stores in the area down by the lake.
  12. And Manitou, they are Norwegian Elk Hound. Nice looking dog.
  13. Yeah, they are great companions. My German/Dutch shep mix Roxanna is a joy. We just finished wrestling and playing in the basement with her and the girls and I am smoked. She loves to go fishing with me and just hangs out in the boat. She is never too far away.
  14. Sail and JBs are your choices. All their stuff has gone through the roof with the drop in our dollar. Unfortunately, we will have to pay more to play this year.
  15. That is lousy news. I never made that up there and never met him but I understand what he is going through and I wish him Godspeed.
  16. Fish enough, long enough and most of those things WILL Happen to you. Good one Lew!!
  17. Andy Myers lodge is a big name up in The Dryden area. Shame on them!!! Another bunch of fools thinking they could get away with whatever they wanted.
  18. One thing to remember for those with aftermarket tranny coolers, check the connections monthly. I know of two tranny failures because of hoses coming off the tranny on one and the hose coming off the cooler on the other......oops. Trying to save the trannies was the death of them.
  19. At least an 8'6" hvy bass rod but for general purpose musky work, a med hvy 7ft+ musky rod. You will be fine for smaller baits but for the big stuff, a lower gear ratio would work better. I see many more rod/reel combos in your future....
  20. Ypu could rig your bumpers horizontally across the top of the gunwhale. Basically a line running the length of the boat with bumpers on it.
  21. UHaul.cannot beat their package price for the hitch, wiring, install, ball and mount.
  22. Make sure you have the navigation charts for the areas you take your boat. Not the fishing maps, NAVIGATION maps that show you where the hazards are. Go slow until you get used to the areas you will be boating in. Props, skegs and lower units get expensive quick.
  23. Speak to both your MPP as well as Jen's MPP and try to get them on board to help you battle the bureaucracy. Ask her Dr what can be done. 5k a month can wipe out any savings you have real quick, esp if she needs to be on it longer term. Hopefully Sunlife will cover it, I guess that is her Extended Health provider for her Group coverage through work. You are going to need to squawk loudly now. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Good luck and keep us posted.
  24. Very cool. Definitely a life experience being up there in the winter.
  25. I saw that last week on the way to Peterborough. Looked like a fairly nice store from the outside. Good luck to them.
