Listen, my fear is that we will see a lot more heavily armed police around. Security is going to be more in our face now than it was in the past and that along with the lives of the two soldiers who died in quebec and in ottawa are the greatest travesties.
-
Go to Washington DC or to Times Square. Heavily armed police all over.
-
Mister G, heavily armed police armed with M4s as well as their sidearm are now visible in many urban centres around the US. We in Canada are not accustomed to seeing heavily armed police in paramilitary garb on a regular basis. We see it on TV but not day to day. Unfortunately, this has changed our society.

Unfortunately, the Bull going on in the Middle East is finally showing itself here. The nutbar in Quebec running down a couple soldiers, now this.... if it is indeed connected somehow, we as Canadians just witnessed the end of our normal peaceful life here at home. In the US, every time you travel you remember 911 with all the security and heavily armed police everywhere. I for one do not want to see a police officer on every corner armed with a C8 or sub machine gun. I hope that is not the road that we are going to travel down now.

Wayne, I was walking by St Mikes a half hour ago and thought of Jen's ordeal. I hope and pray it all came out and she can have a bit of good health. Bloody disease! -
I do not bother any more. Last time I gave a beggar money was 15 years ago in downtown T.O. He had a sign that read: 'saving for a Ferrari, please help'. I gave him a finn for originality.

My old marketing teacher from high school was telling a bunch of us gear heads how they would have studded tires on their hot rods and they would do burnouts, sparks would be flying and it was cool to watch. He had a '69 Z28 with a 302 4 spd. They would really tear up the roads.
-
You used to be able to get a 3/4 ton Suburban with a diesel. Great truck but maintenance was pricey.
-
Buy the best tires you can afford. Shop around though. There are deals to be had if you take the time to find them. Take a day and hit a bunch of shops and compare apples to apples.

Jesus H Christ!!! At the end of the day, doctors are people who make mistakes like everyone else, the only difference is people's lives hang in the balance. Hopefully this comedy of errors ends swiftly and they get rid of the damned tumour. -

Good for you Bernie!! Too many people get worn out and become really unhappy doing what they do for far too long.

It would make a nice kicker for someone. How bout a case of beer and a bottle of nice scotch for it???? Seriously though, you should be able to get 1200-1400 bucks for it.

At the end of the day that is a supertanker muskie. Must have been interesting trying to get it into the boat. That has got to be a 40lb class fish.

Ahhh CRAP!!!! Wayne, that little girl you have there is a lot tougher than us my friend. She will get through this like she did before. Just another speedbump. Take care and my thoughts and prayers are with you. -
A squirt of oil in each cylinder on an efi is the way to go. Change engine oil and filter and change lower unit gear oil and inspect it for water intrusion and metal filings. Grease the pivots and make sure you run stabilizer through it. Removing the prop and cleaning off fishing line and greasing the splines is a good idea as well.an ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure. Outboards are expensive, take care of them and they will last.

City Wide Welding in Mississauga on Drew rd should be able to hook you up. Lou is a solid guy and has done work for many OFNrs over the years.

Seafoam - The miracle solution for outboards
bigbuck replied to Regan Thompson's topic in General Discussion
Ethanol for all the bad it does also does goo too. It is a solvent and actually helps to clean out the fuel system and carb and or injectors. It works wonders for two strokes but for four strokes, I would only use it sparingly. BUT definitely add a fuel treatment at the end of the season for all your power equipment and run it for a few minutes to get it through the fuel system. Something be it Seafoam, Stabil or whatever else strikes your fancy is better than nothing at all. -

Great stuff esp for two strokes. It us a better cleaner than stabilizer though. -

I/o's are different animals than outboards. An outboard will drain when lowered, an inboard is always full of water unless it gets drained. Manifolds, the block, water pump all need to get drained. Do it properly by the book and you will not have a problem. As for tarp vs shrink wrap, if you are sheltered from the wind, tarp is fine, if not, shrink wrap it. -
That sucks!! That she knocked on your door and told your roomate tbat she will deal with it responibly speaks well for her. That said, I feel bad for your dog that it got attacked while minding its own business. Years back while walking my last dog in a nearby park, a fellow had his german shepherd off leash and it came up to my dog and attacked it right away with no provocation or warning, not even a growl. BIG mistake, my dog was a Sharplaninac, Macedonian sheep dog, big and ornery. The shep did not stand a chance, my dog grabbed it by the throat and started to thrash it around. I got mine off and the shep walked off with its tail between its legs. The owner came running up and started to yell at me! His dog, off leash on public property, attacked mine and it was my fault??? Needless to say, he looked at me before I could say anything else and walked off. Every time I saw him and his dog again, they would go to the other side of the street. I am a dog lover, but if you do not have control over your animal, do not ever leave it off leash.

Jesus Lew!!! Bloody disease strikes again!! I'm sure your missus will be just fine. I would tell you to take care of your good lady but I would be wasting my breath, you will do it regardless. Take care my friend. Diane will be in my prayers.

Befor I pull it from the lake I drop in stabil into the tank and go for a quick blast and then pull up to the trailer and fog it first. Lots of fog down the carb till it stalls out. Then after it is on the driveway, I change the engine oil and filter while it is still warm. Replace fuel filter/water separator. Drain the block and manifolds completely, air does not freeze (this coming from a tech who spent many years in Alaska servicing boats). Change the impeller if it is due and do any work lon the engine bay now, check the drive belts, etc..... Disconnect and charge the battery while doing all this. If you have a trolling motor, charge its batteries as well. I then move to the outdrive and drain the gear oil being careful to check the old oil carefully for signs of water and/or metal shavings. refill with oil. Make sure the drain plug is out of the transom and then put the frame in for my tarps. Cover the prop with a couple garbage bags and tape off with masking tape. Kiss her goodnight and park where it will spend its winter. Iboats.com can be a great help as there is info specific to each motor/drive. Also lots of really knowledgeable guys that can help you with specific issues. -
Nice little spot you have there. Now you can enjoy!!!
