  1. Weird. Always thought nothing could live and swim in the Don
  2. Fished it a couple of times. Very close to town which some may like, others may not. Fishing was good for smallmouth bass as I recall. Apparently pickerel and pike too but we didn't target, or catch, any of those
  3. Before the game I would've said raps in 6...and I sure hope this still happens. But after seeing this result I wonder if this really is game 1, or is it a continuation of the past (nets, wizards). For the mostpart this is still very much the same team that suffered those defeats at the hands of lower seeds. They needed this game to break that stigma, so in my opinion, its not just "one game". This game had far more meaning than that.
  4. ...cuz I do. They REALLY needed that one.
  5. KBay is freezing in August!
  6. Yes Mitchell is shallow and there are some stumps. Its not a big lake though, we never really ran the "big motor"...just trolling motor and casting around. Tons of pike. I have only fished it in the spring. Imagine it gets quite weed-choked later in season. If I remember correctly, a lot of the lake is 3-5 feet deep. We did find one deeper area that was around 11 or so.
  7. send her to the movies, to the spa, to the mall, to a flea market....whatever it takes while you get out on the ocean!
  8. wow sweet deal hope it all works out
  9. once they got that 31 incher I woulda bolted out of that spot and come back later in the next period. Go take a nap then or see if you can find another spot. Why sting all the same size fish at once...then again what the heck do I know...maybe a 31 incher is very beatable out there...guess we will find out in upcoming episodes
  10. We tried Balsam before in spring and had no luck, moved over to Mitchell and couldn't keep the pike out of the boat. It s a short boat ride away if things aren't going well.
  11. comes standard with a 40lb thrust bowmount trolling motor....you may wanna upgrade that
  12. 13k. Wonder what size motor that boat can handle? That seems a little underpowered....but having said that I know nothing of fibreglass boats. If I was looking at that size in aluminum I would expect it to have a 115, and nothing less than a 90, maybe fibreglass boats don't need as much hp?
  13. When in my boat I don't (although if its cold I will have a floater suit on)...but in the cold in a canoe? yes I do. Mind you...you see the paddle boat drifting...seems so innocent. You don't really think about it, probably only going a couple hundred feet. I can totally understand why someone would just head on out and try to retrieve it
  14. giv'er a shot....for $10 its low risk. Many fish are inherently curious so I could see the ruckus this causes being effective. We bang things off bottom to attract different species so why not?
  15. get a clicker and troll from the kayak! good times
  16. the look of it sold me a year or 2 back. I have dragged that thing around St Clair for 10 hours I bet with not a hit...while other rods all around it are going off. It looks great to me, has a great wiggle, but something just isn't doing it. Sometimes just a little off in the vibration can make it seem unnatural. Not sure how much it will swim this year....too many productive baits waiting to get chomped again while this one swims thru the water in mint condition
  17. she hooked a passing cruise ship
  18. Well ten days ago when I started this thread this was NOT in the 14 day forecast. Glad I did nothing
  19. ...they might want to check into whose boat they "borrowed" and so easily abandoned on the shore as they ran away.
  20. youtube is pretty much all I ever do. Have watched every single musky clip ever recorded by mankind, as well as the 39 hours episodes. Even my kids got into that one.
  21. stealin property, stealin fish...what's next
  22. Morons. Running away with evidence in hand? Even guys with drugs and guns are smart enough to chuck them once the chase starts....and those things are reasonable easy to find again. A stringer of walleye released back into lake would be pretty tough to locate. I guess he didn't want to lose his $2.99 stringer
  23. good luck hope you find someone to fish with. Always nice to have someone along, each of you can try different methods see what the fish want
  24. Glad that got cleared up....I had the canoe out last week and certainly didn't feel like an idiot for doing it
  25. meh....tell me when we reach a billion
