It doesn't seem like sturgeon has any more than usual. I've seen it with more, but many years ago. I like the rice for waterfowling.....but planting it is not cool. S.

Reverse gear has been abused... a lot. I use my boat duck hunting, and reverse gear is the one that takes a beating removing weeds and other "stuff" from the prop. I don't think its a gear....maybe a clutch dog or something like that. Forward and Neutral work fine, and it shifts fine into reverse, just won't spin the prop under load. Sorry to hijack Smokercrafty! S.

Its not a linkage. That I know for sure. Even if I disconnect the linkage and shift it manually into reverse there is no gear. Just clicking, like its between gears. Only does it under load in the water....prop spins fine on muffs. Good luck with yours! S.

Historically, rice lake was a harvested area for wild rice. They dont call it rice lake for nothing. I have to go for a boat ride. Its been a few years since I was on the south end of pigeon, and its only 20 mins from my driveway. I dont have a problem with harvesting the rice, but planting it shouldnt be allowed. S.

My TM and all other electronics are on two different circuits. TM has nothing else running off it. I don't have my batteries connected at the negative, they are at different ends of the boat......No interference at all. S.

Its really sad that your boat got ripped off. Ive ben lucky( knock on wood) thay ive never had anything serious stolen. Im pro guns, and support all legal gun owners rights no matter what they are, but I personally have no need to carry one for protection. If there ever was a lobby for that, I would support it 100%, but I feel no need for it at all. I'll keep an eye out for your boat, Chris. Do you have any pics of it? S.

Ive used all types of oil in my old 2 stroke withno issues, although I do stick to quality oil unless I cant get it. Ive even mixed synthetic with dino in the same tank. I do the same in my beater car......its got 398K on it now with no issues. Anyone have proof of an engine blowing up, id love to see it! S.

Two guys from my work got ran over last year on rice. They were trolling in a 14ft tinny and an 18ft bowrider ran into them broadside. Luckily no injuries, but their boat was smashed to smitherines. I would like to fish at night more around here, but there are just too many people on the water with no brains, that im not comfortable being out there in the dark. Once labour day rolls around the lakes are desolate most of the time. S.

In my experience in the south end of sturg, the rice gets less and less every year. I know pigeon has tons of it, but its nowhere near any reserves. Wild rice isnt a bad thing. Its excellent cover, and waterfowl love it! S.

I thought the rice feilds in the kawarthas were dwindling. I didnt know there were people harvesting it. Where abouts does this happen? S.
