X2 Also had a good run with Nautilus from CT. Actually, I've never really had bad run with any batteries. Interstates were great as well. My TM gets used pretty much exclusivley for slow trolling eyes, so its on contantly for hours at least half power (flat calm) to full power for hours on end. I drain the batteries down all the time, and they keep on going. I generally get 3 seasons out of them, minumum. S.

Its been a while man, we should hook up!! S.

Maybe he decided to stay? I know I had a real hard time leaving!! S.

I have only seen them in simcoe and rice. None in the other kawartha lakes, but it won't be long. S.

Did you drain it after running it? What I mean is, did you use the engine, then get home and drain it? A lot of times, if you check it after using it, the oil will appear milky, but if you check it after sitting over night it will be clear. I would drain it, fill it back up, run it for a while, but only check it after its been sitting over night. I bet it comes out clear again. S.

Raptors are migrating right now, so they are more common to see at this time of year. Always cool to see them! S.

If there is more than a foot of fresh powder, you can't beat the traditional 48"ers. I also have the atlas 10's for when conditions are a little easier, or its icy. the synthetics are nice, but they still fail the same as traditional rackets. The frames will last forever, but the rest of the parts break. I work in an outdoor ed center, and we use the atlas because they are tough, fit well, and have a great warranty. If your going to get one pair for everything, go with the atlas brand in the proper size for your weight, and most likely conditions. S.

Updated pic of unidentified track.... Feline or Canine???
Sinker replied to siwash's topic in General Discussion
Those tracks are kinda looking feline-ish, but its hard to tell from pics. I have no doubt in my mind there are cougars around though. I wouldn't be surprised at all. S. -
Happy days is for sure the place to go with. They are good people, and do thier best to make sure all their vessels are in top shape. The owner, Frank, is a great guy too!! Bring him a case of Molson Ex, and he will hook you up with anything you want. Super nice guy! S.

I'd give it another week. There is a bit of colour, but more to come for sure. S.

Those are the kind of 'bows I like! I could care less about a trib fish, or even a big water steelhead. The inland trout fight ten times harder, and taste 100% better too!! I catch them way up high, over deep water. Im talking, I run my spinner just below the surface. They are mainly surface feeders, so they will come up and smash a spinner burning across the top of the water. No need to get down deep. I catch them in august 3 ft down over the deepest water in the lake. They are one of my favourite fish to catch!! That one is a BEAUTY! I could imagine the fight she put up!! Woohoo!! S.

Consider it done. Do you have a route picked yet? Where do you want to go? Which locks? Im off tues/wed, so we can get together for sure. S.

There is no need to do that, Mike. Just trim the motor down and leave it in the water. Any water in your indicator line will also drain out. Remember, the water is much warmer than the air at that time of year. Trimming the motor up is just exposing it to colder temps than if it was trimmed down in the water. Guys, outboards are simple. The ONLY problem you can run into with cold temps is water in the lower unit. Other than that, outboards are self draining. Just trim them down, and your done. EVen if the indicator (pee line) isn't pumping water, you will still get water to the engine. The indicator is just an over flow from the water pump. After running for a bit, it will thaw out and start pissing again. The water that cools the engine comes out thru the exaust. Have you ever noticed the water that comes out the pisser isn't hot?? Its just a visual to let you know your pumping water.....that's all. There really isn't anything special you have to do. I add gasline antifreeze if its really, really cold....only because I've seen carbs freeze up, but I've never had it happen myself. As long as your lower unit seals are good, there is nothing to worry about whatsoever. Now, boat safety in cold weather is a whole new thread. There are a few things I always bring when its cold. Primarily a small propane torch. You would be amazed how handy it is when things start to freeze up on ya!! S.
-
You dont have to do anything at all. If you put antifreeze in that hose attachment, it will just drain out on your driveway. Just make sure there is no water getting in your lower unit, and your good to go. When you pull the boat out, trim the motor all the way down, and all the water in it will drain out. The only problem you can have from freezing temps is water in your lower unit. When it freezes, it can crack open the housing. Make sure you have a good battery in cold weather. I run my boat until the ice is too thick to break. Never had an issue with the engine, other than a few dings in the prop from hitting chunks of ice. S.

Where you starting out from Bob? Pigeon? I will have to hook up with ya when your up and show you a few spots S.

No scotch? Someone must have some shine hanging around Where I'm from, if the store is closed, we knock on the door, and they let us in....any hour of the day or night!! Gotta love small towns full of good people!! St. Johns is a little different. Too city like for me!! S.

Any game I grind gets mixed 50/50 with pork as well. Pepperettes, kielbossa, and sausages. You can never have too much pork! S.

How big is the deck? I know people locally who may be able to get it done for you. I'd do it myself, but Its hunting season, and I have no time left!! S.

As said, I would stay away from the HD/CT junk. I got a 6x12 galvanized landscape trailer from Eastons for a good price a few years ago. Never had an issue. Its got a 3500lb axle, and EZ lube hubs on it. All for about $3G. They make some nice stuff, and its a family run shop. I do all my trailer business there. S.

Glad everyone is OK. I had a friend killed in that storm when a tree came down! Congrats on the marriage! S.

Watch out for moose!!! Other than that, the best people in the world will take good care of you. I will guarantee it. You will have a hard time leaving! Have a great trip! S.
