  1. My thoughts as well. In my old tinny for fun one day we tried sticking in a piece of wood to see how it would affect the performance of the boat. Gained about 3 mph but noticed it seemed to look like the transom was being stressed, pulled the wood out. This was with an old 2 stroke on a 14ft tinny and it wasn't sitting as high as your motor is. With the height of your motor (clamps seem to be right at the top of the transom) and the weight of the 4 stroke, it appears to have stressed (warped) the transom. First, I'd take the boat in and have it repaired, might be a very serious problem if left unattended. Second, I'd get rid of the wood and get the motor sitting lower. 3rd, check the weight rating for the motor on the boat. The horsepower may be fine but you might be exceeding the motor weight rated for your boat. I'm certainly no expert at this and these are just my observations.
  2. Try these guys Joe. Peacock Lumber They are in Oshawa. Another place is Millwork, they have a store in Ajax.
  3. I'll agree with that. Mike has helped out way more then one could ask. Really quite amazing what he has done for others and myself.
  4. Same here but it's because they were on sale, didn't really care about the colours as they were all the same on the underside. I've never bought a Banjo minnow or the flying lure but have certainly bought into other pitches. I was out fished by the flying lure one day though.... It's not so much about catching fish after all, it's about catching the fisherman, they are the ones with the cash.
  5. Just what I've been looking for. Can I have it with brass blades and will it be ready for pick up tonight? Good looking bait.
  6. Great to see your boat found a good home Gerritt. What a great first trip with the "new ride" Peter, nice fish! That boat will give you years of enjoyment. Thanks for the report!!
  7. I said one of those many words when I saw it happen! Truly a priceless moment. Congrats Jack! WTG Mom and Dad for getting him out there. A great piece of this planet you have up there, I need to move.
  8. A very good choice I'd say for that rod. We just need some pics with a fish or 2 now and the owner of that combo. Oh don't forget the line and a jig or 2
  9. Fishing and Sledding were my two passions a the time. Pretty much just fishing these days.
  10. X 2. I can't imagine anyone here doing such a thing to intentionally harm one of "our pets". Now a hook in the mouth of a fish is another story. I hope all the other dogs are OK.
  11. Seeing this makes me want to breakout the 4wt cane rod. Some nice fish!!
  12. A little work and a little play, it's all good. Beauty fish Skud!!!
  13. Very nice!! Great to hear you and Leah had such a great time but pretty easily done with a great bunch of people.
  14. I'll have to make the drive one of these days myself. It was to be this year but crap happens. Nice pics Carole, looks like Sydney had a terrible time.... (Did she ever stop smiling? )
  15. Just awesome what people do around here, very cool!! WTG Spiel and John!! A break well needed Wayne and Leah, nice to see you having a bit of R n R.
  16. The deer shots are nice, love the colours of their coat this time of year. Looks like your company loves the canoe as well.
  17. It sure is a sweet ride and I loved fishing out of it last fall.
  18. Looks like a great time was had by all. I'm sure Brian, what you meant to say was the captain of Joey's boat...
  19. NEVER USE pressure treated wood in an aluminum boat. The chemicals will corrode the aluminum. So but I can't help with a source for the marine grade in your area.
  20. That trout looks pretty tasty! Congrats on the first "inlander."
  21. Good fishing Jacques. Now where are the dinner plate pics so I can drool some more.
  22. True enough Bernie. I can't wait.
  23. Make sure you have it perfected by September, I better get an extra copy just in case you mess up the first one.
  24. Other then Terry's smart comment (very funny though) there are a few good tips above. Another thing when on a long lens (full zoom) a tripod will help with a sharper image as the camera is stable. I think the guys above have it nailed in this case with the focus issue being in an auto mode and tips to work with. Keep the pics coming Brian.
