  1. Plan on doing that this weekend myself. At least get the bearings done on the trailer, hopefully more. Looking forward to a longer boating season then the last one.
  2. Seen that clip awhile ago and it was pretty cool. I'm guessing that the chlorine is just to keep the water from getting any algae growth and keeping it clear. Was thinking of trying it on my old shed before I tear it down. Would be cool to see it first hand, not sure how it would stand up to our changing climate though.
  3. In my policy is states the boat must be "dry docked" from Dec 1st to April 1st, to prevent water/ice damage to the hull and motor. My policy is separate from my house as my house insurance would not cover the boat and needed a separate policy. My insurance is up in a month and would gladly switch to a difference company with 12 months of usage in the agreement/policy. Who are you all with? Contacts?
  4. Well since everyone has an opinion, here is mine. My previous tinny was riveted as were my buddies. All different makes and all had rivets come loose or fall out. When up grading a buddy of mine went for a cracker, a year later I got a Crestliner 1750. His boat was nothing but trouble from day one and to the point where he got rid of it and went to a fiberglass hull, fed up with aluminum hulls altogether. This will be my 10 season with mine and other then some livewell pump problems it's been a good boat for keeping the water out. To answer your original question Lunker777, I'd say it's a good boat at a good price. I'd buy another Crestliner but wouldn't cross a riveted hull off the list. It will come down to the layout, storage, and price the next time around.
  5. Here ya go. Lemon Drop shots are similar to Tequila shots. It is more about the process than actually mixing anything together. The lemon and sugar give this shot the real sour kick you'd expect from the name. You can also try the Lemon Drop Martini. Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz vodka lemon wedge sugar Preparation: Pour vodka into a shot glass. Coat a lemon wedge with sugar. Drink the shot of vodka. Follow up immediately with a bite into the sugary lemon. Alternatively, coat the inside of a shot glass with lemon juice and pour sugar on top of the liquid. Shake out any loose sugar and juice. This leaves a sour, sugar coated shot glass that you then pour the vodka into and shoot.
  6. That's why he makes you walk in a big circle for and hour first. Nice jumbos!
  7. I was just talking to my company about it and they do not offer addition coverage during the dry dock season. However, if I'm towing the boat I'm covered but not covered if something happens on the water during that period. I might have to consider this is weather allows next season. (Or the end of this one.)
  8. I brought the lemons and didn't even cut up one. Plenty of Vodka Tonics though with lime. Our citrus intake was OK I'd say. Thanks for putting up the pics Cliff. It was certainly different from the usually trips Chris and no one was complaining. A very relaxing getaway.
  9. Haven't stayed at the Clansman for years but it goes to show you that the good ones will survive. I wouldn't be betting on the first place you went to though. Nice fish as well!
  10. Awesome day Simon, congrats! Been far too long since I had a day on the ice like that. Need to check flight times but will be there asap.
  11. A great time as always, thanks for putting up with us again Bernie . Will see about getting that giant fish posted tonight Cliff. So true Big Cliff. If you have a great group of guys it will always be a good time no matter what happens and what you end up doing. Always more about the company than anything else at Bernie's. Lots of laughs and great food (a few drinks don't hurt) make for an awesome weekend. Nice to escape the rat race for a couple of days as well.
  12. Especially at the $1.50 per Litre they were predicting on the news last night for the coming summer. Not sure where I'll be for the opener this year. It will be the first opener I've fished in 5 years as we usually are on our fly in trip that week. Looking forward to it though!
  13. Well that looks great. A "Scuttlebutt Lodge" on the ice. Enjoy the good times ahead and looking forward to the reports. Thanks for the reports along the way, it's been fun to follow your progress.
  14. So that's the secret for BIG pike, it's all in the foot wear or lack of it. Monster fish!
  15. Welcome aboard!! Yes OFC is like a dating site for fishermen. Over the years, I've met and fished with many members of the board, made some great friends too. Put up a post that you have room in the boat and when/where you are going fishing and you should have some company for the day. Best to come out to some of the events and introduce yourself. The Fishing for Tyler fund raiser is next weekend (Saturday, February 25th) and you can find the details at the top of the General Discussion page. And as you know,we like pictures.
  16. Looks great! Funny how you posted this after I just did Buffalo Pike on the weekend. (no pasta though)
