Is the seat post similar to this? If so, I believe I saw them at Canadian Tire, any marina should be able to order it in or try Cabelas

I know that I'll be enjoying mine as well (heck of a sweet deal that was!) on Lake Travers.

The Long And Winding Road To Back Country Brook Trout

Now that was a great report! But we have come to expect those from you. Quite the adventure getting in there and certainly felt the uneasiness of you being stalked. Cool video Mike! Thanks for taking the time to put it together. -

Congrats on the new ride! -
Our annual spring trip to Bernie's has come and gone once again. It was great to see everyone but too bad that a couple of the usual suspects couldn't make it, you were missed Cliff and Gerritt. Stepping up to fill the void this trip was Bitsmith2K. We arrived safe and sound but greeted with some crazy winds. After unpacking and catching up, we presented Bernie with his new Spiel creation, a custom walleye jigging rod that we all pitched in on. It was great to give a little something back to the man that has been such a great host over the years. Thanks again Bernie. With Cliff (AKA - our photographer) missing, there were not too many shots taken over the weekend but I managed a couple for the report. Friday evening was a pretty good fish with a few walleyes brought back to join our steak dinner the following evening - no pictures so I guess they don't count. I can tell you that they were delicious!! Saturday I was better with the camera and grabbed a few more shots. Started out the day with Bernie's favourite species. Followed by some of these pesky things. Those Sworming Hornet jigs work well Phil!! What a monster!! A bit of a slow bite in the morning but even slower in the afternoon. After a nice steak and walleye dinner it was back on the water to see about getting a few more in the boat. A couple of eaters and some perch for both boats and ended with an awesome sunset. Nice shirt Joe! Brook joined them and was an extra set of eyes on the rod. The next morning the weather cooperated and we gave it one last go. Mike and I had a great morning with a bit of everything coming in the boat. This walleye looking to be the very same fish I had caught the day before. Exact location, and the exact same markings, just wished I had a pic from the day before to confirm. A couple of minutes later Mike hooks into what could have been causing the damage to my fish, A few more walleye were caught along with some perch and one other surprise. After a good morning fish it was time head back and start the dreaded packing for the trip home. Another awesome weekend in the books. Thanks again Bernie for putting up with us 's again. Fantastic time as always!

I never have used rod holders for trolling either. Jakes, Believers, a few others. Always have loved the feel of the hit. 8 hour + days and yes, my arms are dead by the end of it. lol! I'm usually casting for them though as my preferred method. Haven't trolled those particular baits Lew. I'd give them ago though. Have done the same with the rod to get a break when having a coffee or lunch. So right about the inline boards, always use the holders for them.

Impressive shots!

Great looking sunset shots!! How do you like the paddle board?

Very nice Brandon.

Pretty cool to watch the progress and amazing how fast it happens. Thanks for posting them.

Great shots! That osprey looks like it wants to shove that new lens where you do your private business from in the first pic. LOL!! Can even pick up a bit of the detail on the band on it's leg. Nice lens.

Contest....WON.. First person to post the......................
fishnsled replied to Harrison's topic in General Discussion
Dang, missed another. Good on ya Phil for doing the contest and bringing attention to a great event that is coming up. -
Would find it very difficult to be without one (that and depthfinder) and do when I'm without it (them). Two things that do help on the fly in trips are drift socks to slow down a drift and an anchor to keep you positioned on the spot. Many years ago when I use to rent a boat I still had an electric of my own a put it on the transom. 25 +years later, that trolling motor will be put to work again this weekend.

Unfortunate but better to be safe then sorry. Hopefully it's just a one time thing Lew.

Looks like a great weekend regardless of the fishing.

Nice looking bow!

X2 Those little red worms are killer! At least the last time I used them they were.

Thanks for the replies everyone. We've got to share a boat one of these days Brian! Did not miss the gnats but had lots of no-see-ums though. I hope so too! My jigging arm is nicely warmed up though. Yep, uphill both ways, nearly 900km's and close to $300 in gas. Expensive weekend but well worth the cost.

Just thought I'd put up a quick report of the weekend. It started about a month ago when a co-worker asked if I would mind taking his brother and a buddy out fishing. They wanted to go to Quinte and catch a bunch of walleye. I suggested lakers or whitefish on Simcoe (having seen Brian's report it would have been nice) but they had their mind made up on eyes. It was also a great decision. We were at it bright and early and the first area wasn't producing. Thought I'd check in and see how Lloyd's motley crew was doing, and after our conversation I decided to hit a spot I hadn't fished in 10 years. Took a bit of time to find it but once we were on it, the action was fast and furious. At one point I was 5 fish for 6 casts. In total - about 20-25 walleye, 6 pike, couple dozen panfish, a catfish, and yes – a couple of goats in a couple of hours. Here are a few shots from the day. Brad thought it would be cool to have a pic holding up my fish, apparently I thought otherwise. LOL Our catch of the day. And the reward. Sunday was to be a trip to Simcoe for whities and lakers (again it would have been a great idea – thanks again for the report and videos Tree Brudders!) but opted for Quinte again. Today's crew was my buddy Ken and his wife's cousin who was over from England. Ran back to the spot and found out the fish had moved off. Managed a couple eyes but nothing even close to the action we had the day before. After a few hours of exploring we found them again and the action was great again. Another 20-25 walleye boated along with some pike, panfish and a couple OOS buckets. Another great day and I was very happy to have been able to put George on his fish Canadian fish. A couple pics from the day. George and one of his fish. Livewell doing very well. Ken and George with the catch of the day. One of the best May "24" weekends I've had for a longtime!
