AKRISONER Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 https://www.sootoday.com/local-news/eight-americans-pay-hefty-price-for-illegal-moose-hunting-in-northern-ontario-8732015 unbelievable…2 year guiding suspension??? How about lifetime ban 1
Terry Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 Yeah, a lodge or a guide should be punished far more then an individual 1
LostAnotherOne Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 Makes me wonder how many illegal moose they have actually taken down since they were in business 2
AKRISONER Posted May 13 Author Report Posted May 13 These people were literally making a living raping the resource…they should never be in business again 3
Fisherman Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 Excellent, don't need people like that in raping nature. 1
CrowMan Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 Given the extent of their actions in falsifying documents...beyond the Fish & Game Act violations, they should've also been criminally charged with Fraud under the Criminal Code. That would have provided for a far more reaching punishment, than basically what is the equivalent of a speeding ticket or similar under the Highway Traffic Act. Although they received fines and suspensions, they get off with no criminal record. 1

Terry Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 I agree , I gave an explanation as to why they are cheating, in no way said they should do it As a matter of fact I said they should have had greater punishment 2
Walltrout Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 Does it really matter who is doing it, Canadians, Americans or Indigenous ? Until everyone is treat fairly the same nothing will change. 1

Walltrout Posted May 17 Report Posted May 17 When a natural resource is raped does it matter if that group had the right to do it. Nature doesn't care about politics. 1

How about lifetime ban They lost their bear management and Outfitters moose shares indefinitely, that's a huge financial hit for a tourist outfitter. Without that revenue I highly doubt they keep their lodge and outposts but will continue to run the air service.
SirCranksalot Posted June 4 Report Posted June 4 At the risk of stating the obvious, it seems to me that the area has been hunted out by this lodge and others to the extent that the hunting part of their operation is no longer viable. Whether or not they can survive with just fishing is the big question.
