Old Ironmaker Posted March 7, 2016 Report Share Posted March 7, 2016 (edited) Around 9:15 last evening TV programming was interrupted for an Amber Alert. A good Samaritan called 911 when they saw what appeared to be a child forced into a vehicle in Orillia. It turned out that it was the kids parents bringing the child home and the kid was running away. It came on about 4 more times until the alert was cancelled. I have never seen this here. It automatically took you to a different channel. I like that proactive policing, no more call back in 24 hours and we will start looking. Believe it or not 911 and providers received calls from people complaining it was interrupting their TV program or locking their TV's!!!!! Man people never cease to amaze me. I must be a member of the tinfoil hat club , but them having the ability to interrupt a recorded program is over the line . What is it ? a smart TV and part of your internet network, the recorded program maybe on a PVR Hard drive , I'm not understanding how this worked.
