The JAY Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Very nice work... I do custom airbrush painting on bikes, cars, and anything else that will stand still long enough, even my dishwasher... Never thought to do a reel. Is it automotive grade paint? Clear? etc? Thanks for showing....
mike rousseau Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 i gotta ask how much did it cost for the reel and the custom work?
cynmar Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 I must be sooooooo cheap because if I had reels like that they'd never see the light of day. They'd be sitting on a pedestal by my desk so clients could ooohhhhaahhhhh at them.
davey buoy Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 I wonder if you could lower it?. lol.,sweet looking for sure!!!
EC1 Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) Too bad you're left handed - When you get bored of your 2012 reels and get reels for 2013, I would have taken some of them from you! lol. Super nice reels btw. Edited July 16, 2012 by EC1

Dan668 Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 any tool cheaper than the Boca pliers work on removing the spool pin? I used reg pliers on my alpha but dont want to chance damaging the spool on my steez, dont want to spend $40 for changing bearings on one reel! Nice reel btw, i sold my tdz, regret it

Nice reel btw, i sold my tdz, regret it http://www.plat.co.jp/shop/catalog/product_info/language/en/products_id/14329/spool-bearing-remover-type-s.html both tools work great.. you can always do the hammer punch but you risk damaging things
Dan668 Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Thanks, looks like ill be purchasing the boca
krixxer Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 automotive paint, primer, paint, paint, clean coat Nice work but why the auto paint??? this stuff should be done using a single stage polyurethane over epoxy. best yet, anodize all the AL bits before the primer. . . . after the season I'll make a step by step from stripping to anodizing to paint. Might even mill out some knobs ..... where do you get all them shiny bits? can you post a few links where I could get some ideas?
JoshS Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Wow. You should see my reels paint... That's a pretty reel if it's your thing. Looks good.
