Very nice work... I do custom airbrush painting on bikes, cars, and anything else that will stand still long enough, even my dishwasher... Never thought to do a reel. Is it automotive grade paint? Clear? etc? Thanks for showing....

I must be sooooooo cheap because if I had reels like that they'd never see the light of day. They'd be sitting on a pedestal by my desk so clients could ooohhhhaahhhhh at them.

Too bad you're left handed - When you get bored of your 2012 reels and get reels for 2013, I would have taken some of them from you! lol.

Super nice reels btw.

automotive paint, primer, paint, paint, clean coat

i gotta ask

how much did it cost for the reel and the custom work?

around $600 ~ $700 for everything including the reel, parts and paint job

any tool cheaper than the Boca pliers work on removing the spool pin? I used reg pliers on my alpha but dont want to chance damaging the spool on my steez, dont want to spend $40 for changing bearings on one reel!

Nice reel btw, i sold my tdz, regret it

both tools work great..

you can always do the hammer punch but you risk damaging things

Nice work but why the auto paint???

this stuff should be done using a single stage polyurethane over epoxy.

best yet, anodize all the AL bits before the primer.

. . . after the season I'll make a step by step from stripping to anodizing to paint.

Might even mill out some knobs .....

where do you get all them shiny bits? can you post a few links where I could get some ideas?
