This video is going viral BTW.. G.
BillM Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 Nothing wrong with getting them untangled.
Nemo Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 Wow neat video. Pretty hard core shooting the antler off. That could have backfired - (pardon the pun). As for interfering with the natural order.. not sure but looks like they both made it... be that as it may.
mercman Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 intense !!! hard to say what would have happened, or what happened later on.The buck on the ground looked pretty beat up. The other was so stressed. Could the stress result in thier death later
Gerritt Posted January 21, 2011 Author Report Posted January 21, 2011 Thats what I thought too.. Shooting off the Bucks antlers.. perhaps helped them now... but in the weeks to come as he battles other larger bucks? Kudos to the hunters for doing what they thought needed to be done.. and we will never know the end outcome, except that the bucks were unstuck from each other... not sure I would have even ventured that close to two battling bucks! G
cram Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 Suspect htey'd have separated themselves eventually. Shooting beside their heads and having a dog in their face may have been more of a stress.
chilli Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 LMAO. I can't believe he still wanted to fight with his antler shot off and everyone standing around yelling. Top quality video
irishfield Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 I guess they didn't have buck tags eh....
walleyejigger Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 cool video, i would guess the buck at the bottom is done for, exhausted to the brink, if he did make it he aint mating anytime soon, his junk is frozen stiff, pardon the pun
turtle Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 Crazy video!! I agree the buck that was down looked hurt. The winner buck wasnt giving up even with hunters and dogs around. Based on the number of deer I saw last year in my hunt, if that was me, I would fill 2 tags, even if its not sporting. The hurt buck might not make it anyway in the long run, maybe by wolf or coyote if it couldnt get up.
Billy Bob Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 I guess they didn't have buck tags eh.... That's what I was thinking......two shot and both are in the freezer where they belong....
pics Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 I'm thinking both were injured...they hit the ice pretty hard and both probably died later....
Billy Bob Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 I'm thinking both were injured...they hit the ice pretty hard and both probably died later.... While deer hunting I have seen deer get hit by high power rifles and slugs and get back up and RUN....I doubt they died from any of those falls...they are STRONG animals and can jump 6 foot fences in a single bound or crawl under them. I shot a buck last year that had a broken front leg and he was getting along pretty well until I punch a 130 grain soft point through the heart....still feed off that one...
Leecher Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 If nature had it's way.... neither bucks would of made it.... they'd starve to death.... cudos to the hunters for shooting one of the bucks antlers I for sure would not of ventured so close to them like that Thanks for sharing Gerritt Leechman
