Greencoachdog Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 (edited) Do you mean "have" ? Wouldn't that actually be would've? Common misspelling of have; Belonging to or associated with; Containing; comprising; made from; About; concerning (poetic); Connects a quantifier with the thing quantified; Connects a noun derived from a verb with the object of that verb; Before; Connects a jurisdiction to its name; Indicates ... en.wiktionary.org/wiki/of It sounds like would of, but is actually spelled would've... it's short for would have Edited January 12, 2010 by GCD

I'mHooked Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 Wouldn't that actually be would've? Common misspelling of have; Belonging to or associated with; Containing; comprising; made from; About; concerning (poetic); Connects a quantifier with the thing quantified; Connects a noun derived from a verb with the object of that verb; Before; Connects a jurisdiction to its name; Indicates ... en.wiktionary.org/wiki/of It sounds like would of, but is actually spelled would've... it's short for would have Would have been "would've " had it been "would'of ". However it was "would of" which was likely intended to be meant as "would have" which yes, you are right, can be abbreviated (contracted) to "would've "! Now I just need to straighten my tongue out.
aplumma Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 Can't y'all see that I'm typing the same way I speak...It would be down right weird to hear some one from the Southern Contingency speak perfect English. Art
