This kinda stuff is happening far too often these days. There are some (definitely not most) cops that are taking their authority too far.

Here's some more:

The cop dude is obviously suffering through the small appendage syndrome and I don't mean the Mickey Mouse car they let him drive either.

What an jerk!!! I love the fact that he got suspended WITH PAY!!!! He obviously felt he had to get that "dangerous situation" under control. The kids looked liked dangerous hardened criminals didn't they? The guy definetely has issues. I didn't see anywhere where he got fired. He's probably still doing the job. Maybe he'll beat a jaywalking senior citizen next?

They were showing this on the news around here last night as well. Just a cop trying to play the role and make himself bigger than he really is. You get guys like this and not just in the police force. It's a wonder that guy didn't pull out the taser .... dude

Just to add that in all of my life, I have never had to deal with an officer who was anything less than courteous and helpful. But, like in every other job or profession, there are people who are not suited to the job they are doing and of course these are the ones who get the most publicity.

geez....don't judge us by what the cops in the states do....that's rediculous....but that's my opinion. I'll leave it at that. As for the other videos (all American cops) it's sad. But truth be told, sometimes videos don't share the whole story. Unfortunately we all get bad reputations by actions of few

what they're trained to do....a car is a weapon, no different than a gun...again, it's a US video.....

remember, this is what may happen on any given day

this is the only video that wasn't rated too graphic to show w/o logging on, but you get my point

If I had to walk around in a bumble bee outfit and drive a kidde car I might be a little bent too! Better threads and a decent ride might warrant a little more respect?

Seriously? Had some brushes with the law as a kid-young adult, it is yes officer, not dude, a little respect in a situation can save you from getting your butt kicked. Had a cousin sucker punch a cop, then wonder why he met Mr. Billy-club. Dude was afraid to tell his dad about his new lumps, dad would have gave him more. Stupid can be fatal.

Some parents don`t care, kids roam the streets and as long as they stay out of their hair it`s ok. When there is a problem? My baby wouldn`t do that! Police brutality! Cops cut me some slack a few times, enough for me to get my head on straight, and ya dad would have kicked my butt.

Tough job, I would never want it. Especially with those wheels and that uniform!

That guy is not a cop, he is a joke in a uniform and a disgrase to the profession! Suspended with pay? He should be charged with assault and his sorry .... fired.

Most cops are not like that ...atleast the ones i have met. They usually only get verbal like that if there is a reason to..but that is just asinine! As a skateboarder i know what they were going thruogh when the cop pulls up and tells you that you can not skateboard in a designated area. The way he dealt with that was brutal, hopefully gets a tounge lashin' himself one day! :asshat: <---- Thats Him

I have seen the wheelchair one before, disturbing, especially in my new found situation. I walk like a drunk, a police stop where I have to get out of the car is going to draw some looks from a cop. I can imagine the first thought is going to be I got me a drunk!

To me the situation appeared to be common place there? No one seemed surprised by the deputy`s actions? No rush to help? Just me, but the taxpayers will be providing that guy with a green cushion? Cash!

Easiest way to fix that is get a note from your doctor saying that you have a condition etc etc....make sure its dated from - to...not indefinitely because that'll look phoney.....i run into it all the time w/ people having medical reasons so they can drive w/o a seat belt (open heart surgery is a big reason and end of term pregnancy)...as well people w/ Cerebral Palsy often drive like and appear to be intoxicated....had that too....can be embarassing but understandable...

Diagree with the whole board on this one......too often these little punks are walking around with absolutely no respect for any type of authority....as a property owner I have chased off these "little Gems" more often then any of you realize........I get nothing but lip service, whether I am polite or not.....It is true that these kids need to learn respect and maybe get a kick in the A5s when it is needed.

Just like with the Rodney King video you don't see what happened before the camera was rolling. In this case the kids had edited out the beginning of the video to make the cop look bad. They are just some punk kids with no respect for authority & they need a good swift kick in the arse.

The kid’s parents also need a kick in the arse as well for raising such disrespectful punks.

My fathe rwas never rough on me growing up.....but elders or anyone of authority I was taught to respect.....never referring to them as "dude".

Probably heard there parents talking like this to police officers as they visited for the most recent drunkin dometic

the problem is....I had to deal with one like that and it's not fun

plus it's hard to paint every cop you see with the same brush once that happens..as far as I am concerned that cop said the kid wouldn't live long and would be shot if he keeps talking like that....to me that is a saying you are going to kill him.....

the cop I had to deal with said if he saw me on a back road or somewhere remote I would never make it out alive......

and you have to sit and take that crap...........

Check out this vid....it's not very long, watch the whole thing.

What do you think? Hothead cop or mouthy punk?

Both, but I gotta admit it does my heart good to see the mouthy little punk get knocked down a rung or two. There are too many kids and even adults with that kind of crappy attitude towards authority these days. What really worries me is that a lot of younger people don't even recognize it as crappy attitude. Imagine how smoothly our world's gonna run in thirty or so years with surly little pukes like that in charge. Should add a really interesting flavour to negotiations and statesmanship.

The problem with that whole scenario, if in fact it wasn't faked, is that the kid's Mom probably will defend the little darling's right to disrespect authority, encouraging his crappy attitude. And on it goes......

Having seen a few real life instances like that I can't say I blame the cop for going over the top. There were times when I was coaching hockey & ball that I felt exactly the same, and I like kids. The worst behaviour problem I ever had was a 13 year old boy who was convinced he was on his way to the NHL. When I finally turfed him off my team for insolence & troublemaking his Dad's response was to punch me - or at least try to.

The cop, or bylaw officer, whatever, is just another kind of problem child. They work under pretty crummy conditions in a lot of cities. There are too many bleeding hearts and over-indulgent parents with misplaced priorities turning the kids they influence (they would say protect) into that little punk on the video. Unfortunately it is what it is and the people who choose to work in law enforcement need to control their responses to everyday occurences like dealing with a surly kid.

I deliberately answered this before reading other responses. Now I'll read on.

BTW. I don't hate kids at all, and I don't even hate kids with spirit. They're the ones who'll take over this world. I hate the people who spoil the kids' potential. It's a very fine line to walk between freedom to grow & indulgence.
