  1. Thanks a lot guys. Can she net my fish without a license?
  2. I fish both Michigan & Ontario waters of Lake St. Clair & the Detroit River. I wanted to know if I had my wife on my boat but she wasn’t fishing (reading her book & getting some sun) do I need an Ontario fishing license for her? I would think she probably would need to have one but couldn’t find any info on the MNR website. Does anyone know or have a link to this info? Thanks
  3. I have Wiley X's. Not only can I see fish & cover in the water with them I can also see through women's clothes.
  4. The DNR biologist on LSC posted this picture taken yesterday (5/18) of musky they netted while doing their survey on Anchor Bay (LSC). He said it was the most musky they ever netted at once (14 musky). He said the biggest one was 30 Lbs. Less than 3 weeks & musky season opens on LSC. I can't wait.
  5. Wow that was fast. Thanks For some reason I thought it was a more recent record but that will have to do.
  6. Hey guys, I need some help finding a story about a World Record fish holder that said he had regretted reporting his record catch. The story was out at least a year ago probably longer than that. Someone posted a link to that article on this site in a post about "What would you do it you caught a world record fish". I spent a few hours searching for the story but I can't find it. Thanks for your help.
  7. A super shad rap & a X-Rap Jointed shad for musky & pike fishing.
  8. A 6" auger will be all you really need unless you plan on catching 25 Lb pike & 30 Lb lake trout. I had a 8" hand auger before & I exchangfed it for a 6". It's a lot more work to cut with the 8" than the 6" & your blades will last longer. I have a Strikemaster Lazer 6" & it cuts through the ice like it's going through butter.
  9. I've found most other places to be a lot cheaper on hooks than from Do-it. I've also found their jig molds cheaper elsewhere as well. Have you ever tried Matzuo Sickle hooks for your leadhead jigs? They are deadly sharp & much better hook-ups plus less lost fish than the cheap Eagle Claw & Mustad hooks. A lot of guys use them for walleye on the Detroit River & won't use any other hook. Other sites to look in too are: http://www.barlowstackle.com/ http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/
  10. My buddy had a Lund Pro guide 17' then after his little accident he decided to go with an Alumacraft. The Alumacraft has a much smoother & drier ride than the Lund that he had. BTW, I was told by a sales guy that the G3 & Lunds are one in the same. He said the G3 was just a rebadge Lund that only comes with a Yamaha motor. Don't know if it's true or not but they looked to be the same when I looked at them at the fishing show. With the Alumacraft you can get it with any brand motor that you want.
  11. Stamina sells the #8 French blades in 5-pk, 50-pk, & 500-pk http://www.staminainc.com/spinner_blades/french_magnum.html You can always buy from the places that sell large quanities only then sell what you don't need on Ebay for a little profit.
  12. Here's another place in Canada that sells the supplies. http://www.luremaking.com/index.htm Oops, I guess they're the same place.
  13. Nice work. Have you had much success with the ones that have the dress ahead of the spinner blade?
  14. Instead of suspending him the NHL should be praising the guy for bringing interest to hockey. They took away fighting & people lost interest. With Avery shooting his mouth off it gets all the sports people on TV & radio talking about hockey & it sparks interest from people & they'll watch the soap opera to see what happens next.
  15. I have pulled up many trees with it as well as anchor line with the anchor still attached. It has no problem in the weeds either.
  16. I've had the Cabelas Snagmaster lure retreiver for over 12 years & it has saved countless lures of mine & my friends lures. It's well worth the price. Snagmaster
  17. You can always bring your boat to Michigan. The smallmouth on St. Clair hit silver buddies (blade bait) really good in the cold water. Our bass season doesn't end until Dec. 31st. Or you can go down to Florida since their bass season is open all year.
  18. That is a scam. They had that story on the local news here in the Detroit area warning everyone about it.
  19. Small ponds can hold some decent size LM. My wife's uncle has a 1/2 acre pond loaded with bluegills & LM. Most of the LM are small but I've caught them up to 18" in there. The deepest spot in his pond is 12 feet (after the spring rains).
  20. This one was 25 1/2" & weighed 5 Lbs even on my Rapala Pro digital scale. So yours should be around the same.
  21. Those trannies in the Ford minivans have always been crap. That's what you get when Ford puts in a German motor with a Japanese trans.
  22. If youwant a bigger tube bait you can always buy a Lindy Tiger tube in 6" or 9". There's also the Yum Doozie Tube which comes in 5.5", 6", & 8". It's long and thin. The SM on St. Clair love them.
  23. For spinnerbaits you can't go wrong with white. For in-lines I've always done great with a plain Mepps in rainbow for SM bass. Plain silver also is a good choice. On cloudy days go with gold or copper.
