Obviously the prop just nicked the fish before it scooted instantly in pain. Surely you know best however.

Have a friend with Stage 4 cancer. She was gifted some Tim Simpson oil but refused(unfortunately) and gave it to me a year or so ago. Digested the rice size recommended and it provided relief. Not a cure for my SPMS and severe back pain(surgery didn't relieve)). It really helped way more than the 2 Percoset a day my doctor prescribed. Talked to the doctors i have and they agreed that it is effective but called it a "grey area" and wouldn't know how to prescribe. Would be good if medical community could get it to those who really need. All these oxycocet, oxycodone pills are abused by kids big time anyways.

Yeah prop. Pretty obvious . At least kinder, gentler winternet meandering here now.

Also guy from band Mott the Hoople . David Bowie wrote most famous song All the young Dudes.

No one just gets handed a drivers license. It takes many months to earn one through driving tests. Only a few thousand of these many million of refugees have been allowed to enter Canada anyways. The Canadian government has actuarial scientists who have poured over refugee statistics to ensure that they will pay tons of tax over their lives. The few allowed in will be professionals (doctorates, engineers, etc) anyways eventually they will work as janitors or fast food servants way below their abilities. Aside from native aboriginals we are all immigrants.

Great story. Thanks for posting The maps and illustrations helped fill the story. I remember early 80's walking along Lake O. shoreline east of Oshawa Creek on a cold early spring day. Was casting huge egg sinker roe bag out in lake. I'd sit and wait for rod tip to twitch, stare out at lake etc... caught fresh chrome steelhead. About 200 yards out a guy with grey beard went by in a packed canoe and waved. I waved back. It was weird i thought cold March morning. No one around for miles. He seemed to come out nowhere and silently passed. After reading this story i wonder if it was him. Maybe just someone else like him.

I agree. Those are some nice chunky specks! Yum Yum.

HaHa! At least you gave it a shot. Nominate this " best thread of 2016" so far.

Awesome array of fish from the metropolis of Toronto! Very familiar with exact locations. Largemouth Bass, smallmouth, northern pike, chinook, real beautiful brown trouts, bowfin, longnose gar, carp, big channel cat etc... was that atlantic or coho in video, couldn't tell? Believe it or not big walleye and small musky are caught sometimes in harbourfront. Use to be member (Snag) i would meet down there caught a small musky while doing the pike thing there. Great summary thanks!

Santa better be careful when going down Nevada assemblywoman Michele Fiore's chimney at Christmas.

Incredible looking muskies! The first one is huge. They have a unique 'reticulated' appearance. Beauts!

Have been on this board for well over a dozen years and this could be one of most epic of reports here. Tons of great pictures, incredible fishing, beauty landscapes, food descriptions, wildlife,etc... You were able to showcase your skills. Fishing and medically especially. Ya know sutures when needed, big fish when needed, good cheer and hospitality. That irritating mosquito-like dood was a very small part of story. Great stuff!

There has been 355 mass shootings in the U.S.A so far this year. Team gun culture. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2015/12/02/the-san-bernardino-mass-shooting-is-the-second-today-and-the-355th-this-year/ Not near as many mass shootings in Canada. Mostly of aboriginal people in first couple hundred years. In last 100 years maybe a couple of dozen times in Canada. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_massacres_in_Canada

That's not a typical common white sucker but a less common Black Redhorse sucker. Could be on rare species list. Sucker fishing excitement! haha

Good song Wayne. More thoughts on posts lately... From show hosted by Larry David and Micheal Richards who about a decade later went onto Seinfeld fame. -
It was caught on Milles Lac near Brainerd, Minnesota, Al Linder's home base. So who knows. Yeah, Milles Lac, Minnesota. Must be quite frozen over there now.

Nice chunky Kawartha fish. Great stuff! No matter what it is brutal out there at this time of year with the shortened daylight and winter like conditions.

No one wants to be a refugee.

Thought i would check out war death tolls through history. Seems Christian Wars (World War 1 and 2) and Chinese civil wars top the totals. 80 million - 50 million there. Not many involving Muslims. Iran vs. Iraq is way down list at about a million. All this Islamphobia is something new in history with relatively fewer deaths. I don't live in fear. That gives terrorists the only advantage in this social media war. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_by_death_toll

Why so bitter? Have been severely disabled myself for near decade. I get nothing but learned to survive. Have lived way below poverty line. No need for money wasting toys etc... When hospitalized the Dr's and nurses were all there, really helped. Hopefully some Syrians open a restaurant around here. Love that Middle Eastern food. Nice peeps there.

A walk along the creek...really cool sighting!

That is cool! Grew up around Thomas St. in the 'Shwa, never would've dreamed to see a young buck like that there ever 20 to 40 yrs. ago. Not sure people know the extent of GTA urbanization there. Maybe 50 to 200 meters wide of greenery from Lake O. for about 20K. up to Taunton Rd. Great to see nature coming back. -
The song remains the same 50 yrs. later. These guys had a plan.

Since i have the time, i decided to research this cougar stuff a bit. Seems possible that one or two male mountain lions have made it across the prairies looking for females. And yes Manitoubass2 your area would be first safe area to hide in, if they made 1000 mile journey across gun infested American hunters etc... There could be a couple of male lions, not many. Very interesting, scholarly Phd written article suggesting one or two (not many) even crossed through eastern Ontario. Well worth a read if interested. Need to read whole article. Again a couple maybe made the traffic, gun infested guantlet. http://www.mountainlion.org/featurearticleeastwardho.asp

Listened to whole album the day i posted as well. Neil grew up in Cavan/Omemee area so there is a real feel of that mindset. Maybe you grew up in same area. As a young ' Shwa teen 35 yrs. ago i could relate to the notions. Funny,my older sister brought Neil albums from her boyfriend at time. Her boyfriend was Paul Romanuk who does HNIC telecasts. Lived a few houses away back in the day. 'On the beach' is best but this might be Neil's second best album.
